Lags....

After having some trouble with my graphics driver, I decided to reinstall my whole system.
Everything worked fine up to the point where I wanted to play W:A on the new installed System (Win7 64-bit, Radeon HD 5870 graphics card). Everytime I play some game I get some random screen lags and it's just f@#!ing annoying. I tried 4 different driver versions now, but it's more or less the same shit with every version...
Has anyone of you had similar problems in the past?
I just remember that I had these problems when I bought this pc in march '10 and that it finally worked with some older driver version. Just can't figure out the exact version number....

Im even thinking of selling my graphics card and buying some other one...
So please reply if you have some similar graphics card that is running fine with the latest driver on W:A..

Would be nice to have a solution for this problem. It's really driving me crazy :/

damn,i also got ugly lags since yesterday...it seems that they won't pass.
and I did nothing 'uncommon' yesterday.I just worked at something in windows movie maker and I filled my desktop with dl-ed pictures from google could that be the problem ? lol...
(now i deleted those but I still get the lags)

Are you sure it's because of the graphic card and not memory? Sometimes the lack of memory makes it have small screenlags, and it's possible that for instance Media Player - which is running in the background by default in Windows 7 - is indexing your music folder and that could make it lag.

Or anything else that uses up a lot of memory.

Btw, i don't think the graphics card is the only reason for your lags, Worms just doesn't seem to like modern hardware. I guess every update which comes now will sort problems out though until the day comes when Worms will finally run in true colour. Should be no more performance issues then.

Worms just doesn't seem to like modern hardware.

My PC is very modern and I just never had any problems with this game. I might be just lucky. But seriously, no lags, no nothing, or if there was any, then I knew why it happend - like the Media Player instance I was telling Random about.

I had lags in the beginning when i got my new pc with Win Vista. It mysteriously sorted itself out though after a while fortunately... and i know from 2 clan mates who have Windows 7 that they had to fix their lags too... Windows XP seems to be more issue free.

Ray, my PC isnt lagging because it is too old, hehe ;P
Im just using some older driver and ccc version now. Better having performance issues with new games then with worms.
Everything runs fine now as it used to be before I reinstalled my system.
