Rok there's a very thin line here. Gaining points for the high-skilled player must worth to play for SO that it gives the low-skilled a chance to win more points than usual.
If we give the high-skilled player a few points, Yes that would make him stop noob bashing. But it will take away the "noob"'s chance to win a lot of points.
With a ranking system based on ELO, u'd have basically the SAME effect. The difference is, that the amount of points gained/lost changes faster. Dario, for example has got like 30-0 score in intermediate and still gets 30 points for winning against absolute begginer compared to 40 when he started from scratch. That doesn't really discourage noob-bashing (i know, Dario would win vs anyone, but i just used an extreme example
.
That's because it is our first season. and people haven't reach their true rank yet.
pr is leading the table with 110 games played and 75 % wins (gj pr
) and he's still on 2nd rank! If u ask me, he should be already close to "elite" rank or at least somewhere in the middle of ranking ladder. Instead, he still needs like 1000+ games to be played to reach top ranking. That's too extreme imo (damn, will w:a even survive that long
)
Btw, if u don't know what ELO is, read about it here:
