How to edit resources.dat?? sprites?

Hey, just want to know how to edit the game called resource.dat, and where are game sprites located, to change those..

sprites are located at Worms Armageddon\DATA\Gfx\
I used this program awhile back to edit sprites: http://worms2d.info/WA_directory_editor
there's also this newer one : http://worms2d.info/SpriteEddy

Extract the sprite then edit in photoshop. Export as a PNG-8 I think? I haven't done it in a long time so I forget the process

Also, don't change the palette of the file, otherwise you might get desyncs

So what is this resources.dat file about, wanted to change some weapons sprites and data, where to find that..

I'm not sure what resources.dat is, but I'm pretty confident all of the sprites are located in DATA/Gfx/gfx.dir directories.
