rubberworm wind problem

so I'm currently making a scheme, and I want to make wind affect the worms and weapons using rubberworm. problem is though, that even a tiny amount of wind will keep a worm and certain weapons (e.g. bazooka) skipping on water endlessly, breaking the game. are there any ways to fix this?
