What the hell is/was this?
« on: December 05, 2013, 10:47 PM »
Hello, i just get this picture of Worms Armageddon (I think), but it does have something like a dinamite, but it's green, I think I've seen that weapon before, but never played with it:

Well never seen that before in-game... but it is part of wa gfx textures.
Get an extractor and you'll see it there... or at least I have seen.

Like christmas splash screen on wa, or how to activate a dud mine, it must be some secret, beta or hidden weapon :)

Or, no drama, it's just project X... bah

It's a Gas Canister from Team17 but reimplemented by me (original object class and behavior preserved): http://worms2d.info/User:StepS/Weapons/Gas_Canister
Warning: because Team17 didn't finish implementing this weapon into W:A, it doesn't have an object limit. If you throw 50 canisters per second without any pauses, your game will crash as soon as the first ones explode.

Dec 30 2013 23:59:49 <StepS> you need it to be actually bigger
Dec 31 2013 00:00:13 <StepS> it actually is very small on my 15-inch full HD screen
Dec 31 2013 00:00:25 <StepS> while running at 640x480 or stretched mode makes it fuzzy
Dec 31 2013 00:00:44 <StepS> this problem has been around since the Worms Armageddon's release and no one has even tried to beat it

Pretty cool info, I always tried to know what was that, thanks for the help  :P
I also saw the sprite of a swimming worm, did they planned to make swimming worms ? xD

Also, I checked your weapons and most of them are pretty cool!

That's GENIUS! Really, that's pretty cool!

Suddenly i want to make new weapons for Worms Armageddon, but I don't know how, i guess Project X is a tool to do that kind of things?

I also need to know if it will work under the latest version of WA (3.7.2.1 I think)

No, it requires downgrading to 3.6.31.0 :S (which can't be done on the Steam version, in case you were about to try that on the Steam version).

Uh, I need a downgrade to make it work? wow, that's... weird xD
I think I'll wait until another update from Porject X, if they plan to make it work with the last update obviously.

Nt, but that's the other way around. ;) Your update is missing at least two years' worth of bugfixes and feature additions.

To be fair, I'd strongly recommend you not to bother with that, due to stability reasons (lots of bugs have been fixed since that 2010 update, lots of features have been added, PX is glitchy, have issues with longbow masks, etc.). Also, the guy who used to maintain PX isn't working on any updates. And, I don't know whether you have the Steam version, but if you do, you'll have no choice anyway, you'll have to stick to the current version, otherwise you'll be requested a CD and W:A won't run.

Well you're right, i'll pass on Project X, I'm not considering downgrading WA for that, and, I have the SoldOut version which came with Worms 2. Thanks for your answers guys!  ;D

You can have 2 (or more) copies of WA installed at once!

Except that you'll have to install them in two seperate folders in PX's case, because that module is so weak that it will try to load itself for versions it is incompatible with (no version check), which can lead to crashes on those versions. And again, that requires having a CD with you, so nothing for Steam users.
