nice that you want to restart WA!
I totally know this Problem since I have a MacBook for work and a Windows PC at home and I would like to rope on MacBook when I'm not at home;)
I know that you can get WA run smoothly on old Intel Macs with bootcamp but you need more software on Macs with new arm chips.
I just upgraded from MacBook Air M1 to MacBook Air M4 and I tried parallels and Crossover.
WA runs very smoothly on M4 with crossover (better than parallels) but it was laggy on M1.
However, I heard that Crossover (it's like wine) should be the best solution but for me it is still not comparable with WA on Windows PC. It looks smooth but it doesn't feel smooth for me when roping. It seems like there is an input delay that's not good for roping but ok for land schemes.
