I love that team17 continues to contribute the incredible amount of bandwidth needed to host the WA servers, though. :D

Everyone uses some kind of visual aid in bng, that's common sense. You have to be able to measure distances to something.
I don't, and I can't assume that everyone else does as well.  It's a game, not going to treat it like a science.
leroy, its what the game has always been...
Thats not even close to being true avi.  The best bng players of early WA didn't notch, the way in which geniusma, psydome, MPH, or dw33b aimed would have made that impossible.
the only thing that bothers me is, in mablaks thread asking if visual aids should be legal, no one really said much... but now that barmans outed for it, everyone is  all "oo i do that too" *high five*
I agree, jump on the cheatwagon, people.  There is plenty of room.  Pretty sure this thread will turn into people like SPW, prank, and impo saying, "Err, the ruler taped to my screen, yeah, I don't use it for league games.  Yeah, thats the ticket!"

I hate to continue cock riding Komo after praising him in the other thread for his warming skills, but I love that the best bng player beat all of your notching monkey asses again and again.  Poetic justice.

Sorry about quoting a post and then posting it in a reply.....I was trying desperately to draw attention to my opinion and express how forthright I am like dub and spw.  It's awesome how the people with the least to add are the most riteous.

And could the attention seeking hypocrites stop complaining about off topic whilst posting spam themselves?

Good riddance they never listened to one thing anyone posted on there.  Saying they are focusing on twitter and facebook is akin to them focusing on ignoring tweets and facebook posts.

I was expecting someone posting old replays to watch, but all I see was the same bunch of guys always ruining topics with their dinossaur's era talking shit discussion, we are tired of you!
Who is "we"?  And when did your opinion suddenly become relevant?  "We" have told you we are tired of you, but yet you persist with your diva antics like "leaving worms forever" for one week.  Keep trying to garner attention, though, and better luck next time.

trade cheesy roper in for 3hooks and we've got a contest.

I was thinking about this one, why its hard for some people to quantify how good people were.  That community was so large, some people that played a lot you never ran into.  For instance, I can't say I played with avirex more than 4-5 times from 2000-2004.  I only started playing with HHC well after WL was dead and gone, same goes for mablak, im pretty sure cl2k had folded before I started playing with him.  My point is, when I was active like a year ago, it was hard to run into someone that was good at roping that wasn't registered or known on tus.  That wasn't the case back when.

I was 11 years old when I was playing WL, from my own memory I can remember that Volcom was considered as one of the best ropers, if not the best, while I don't remember Komodo at all. That's just my personal experience.
For about a year, I played more with Komo than anyone else, and we never played anything but warmers, hours and hours into the night.  The best warmers on WA you had to actually play with to realize how good they were.  In the early days of WA there were so many people online and the league communities were less centralized than they are now.

As it is today, any player who is remotely skilled ends up signing up here and is known on wormnet.  Many less known players that everyone has forgotten because they didn't sign up for leagues but were great like chinook, wormwood, banzaiii, ect because they weren't a part of leagues or one of the big clans.  In fact, Komo was in sfx for a long, long, time but I can't remember him playing too many clanners for them.

IMO, Komo was one of the great warmers, and I basically played with them all because that was the only gametype I played back then besides battlerace.  Volcom earned his reputation, and rightly so, because he was on top of a league where the variety of schemes was vastly limited.  You could be good at just roper, and pretty much go all the way to the top.  And volcom never f@#!ing fell in roper, much to my dismay.

Komo may make many outrageous and blatantly erroneous claims, but him being one of the top warmers was not one of them.

I got a load of games with Tenchi in them from 2005.  If I could be bothered I could look at replays from both this guy and the real Tenchi and do comparisons between playing and conversation styles.  Perhaps there are obvious differences in the language used, certain words they might write differently etc.

But I really can't be bothered and it looks like the case is closed anyway?
Yeah, snakechi hasn't replied since he got thoroughly outed as an imposter.

So the volrin we had in our clan in 2005 was an alias?
That is exactly what im saying.  Likely ropa or anubis.  Between the two of them they've aliased every player of note out there.  I remember when volrin left worms, im sure he wasn't playing between 2002-2004 when I was still active, at least the real one.  Custick  talked to him at least in 2007 or 2008 and he still wasn't playing worms, but was addicted to starcraft.  Said he hadn't played since 2000 but i definitely remember him playing in 2001 or 2002.  Skunk3 thought he was dead of cancer because apparently a (fake) volrin told him he had a tumor and then promptly vanished in the same timeframe.  Quietstorm said he thought volrin had moved to go to college.  The truth is no one really knows what happened to volrin, but the one thing im sure of is that everyone that knew him knows he stopped playing this game around 2001 or 2002.

This kind of phenomenon isn't just just related to TdC, though.  Ropa was 2003 jmoberg, i know anubis aliased in NBR after he left the clan, I think as pure?  Anus could probably tell you.  I know we had a fake pure.  People liked to be shadymilkman and oijogja as well.

I think it is good Anubis joined tap.  I'm pretty sure he could entertain us for paragraphs and paragraphs about every player he aliased on worms. ;D

Real volrin hasnt played since about 2001.  At least this is the general consensus.  There has been many fake volrins running around though.

I ripped 2 duis within 4 months of one another.  Both were expunged from my record through great work from my lawyer, but my licence was still suspended for 6 months.  I was found guilty of one and the other case was dropped.  Both are now off my record.  If I ever get another dui in the state of illinois, my previous dui will come back on my record, and i will be looking at 6 months jail time.  Needless to say, the whole experience cost me nearly 10,000$ in legal fees over a period of several years, the cases dragged on like yours did.  I'm not sure what driving on a suspended licence will get you in brazil, nino, but as your lawyer id advise you not to drive drunk under a suspended license.
