i just made a post in playoff thread about free and classic standings and the problems. Now i just checked and they are just the single games of 'free alternative schemes being displayed' being displayed, thats cool.

my experiences tells me its really hard to get people to play playoffs (depends on how u can motivate them) so 2 months is best because u get less playoffs to manage and it makes reaching the playoffs more important.

id also suggest no playoffs for free beacuse its jsut too many, id also considering only displaying free standings with the schemes that arnt classic, so then you can see the top players of 'none league schemes' and maybe rank the top 3 players in a hall of fame.

But with classic, don't make too many playoffs because its hard to get people to finish their games, alot of leagues have had this problem over the years, and unless you make some really cool features like hall of fame and trophies it'll be hard to get the games done, espically if there are 2 sets of playoffs once a month and the same players reach both for free and classic.

You cannot play a game of inter with only 1 round, it won't be fair. This is because alot of the inter strategy and gameplay is determined by the deployment of the worms at the start of the round. Seeing as only 1 round will be played, the player who starts first will have an obvious advantage. When played bo3, each player has a chance to start first and so it reduces the luck varuant hugely.

You can't really say one scheme requires more skill than another anyway.
Yes shopper is easy to learn, but if two pros played a game would you not still have an exciting match on your hands...
yep, intermediate scheme should remain untouched as the others...and report should be 1 win when you win bo2.

agree with both players here. In NNNL you even have to play on same stlye of map twice then a different one because of luck of placements and to even open chances of bad maps and bad placements.

For example you have to play open, open, and then if a 3rd round cavern.
Or cavern, cavern and if a 3rd round open.

TPL = the peoples league.

it only ran for a couple of months, was rating and points combined, points was reset, rating never was, top 4 from rating made po's plus top 4 from points.

The rating calucation was similar to fb, it wasnt exterme and worked well.

sigh..

i cant really even get started.. ive not really taken enough time looking around the site to offer a valid opinion.. deciding on a rating system is hard. XTC didnt get it right, it stopped noob bashing but it was so exterme it put pros off playing and they just sat at the top of the table..

FB had the best rating system which allowed for accounts to be reset and the points being won and lose was balanced prefectly.

However it got boring as the standings stayed the same and playoffs were indentical each season, therefore the best league system was the mixed rating and points of tpl..
