Leagues General / Re: Tus playoffs

I think thats his idea. And maybe it is a fair point. I think we switched it from overall coming first because of flori...

or was it switched becasue it was 1,2,3,4 = top overall, then 5,6,7,8 = top seasonal?

I think maybe if it was just switched to 1st was top overall, 2nd was top seasonal, 3rd was 2nd overall, 4 was 2nd seasonal, it could be fairer and reward the players with higher overall ratings, instead of seasonal ratings as it is harder for high overall rating players as their ratings has developed.

So basically, i think nail and random are just asking for it to switched to give overall 1st, seasonal 2nd. and so on.

im for afr
also for unlimited zook.
- petrol.

for me tus wxw is ok, just remove petrol from there..

But this is fine for wxw. Not shopper. Its a different type of scheme which is less involved on roping.

I once again love the balance of the FB shopper scheme. I think no afr, cows, hhg and aqua make the scheme alot more interesting.

I think this scheme should have more luck involved. Thats whats makes it fun. I dont wanna play a shopper where i have the option of zooking everyturn and the majority of weapon damage is 75. Infact with the current tus scheme, only flamie and minigun do over 75 damage. Thats why you need cows, hhg and aqua to give more chance of getting a stronger weapon as currently there are only two???

Watch a shopper CKC vs TdC. Me and dilbert were getting owned vs tdc, but then a cr8 came on last turn which was cows and allowed dilbert to kill 3 worms. Yes this is lucky, but it also took dilbert alot of skill to use the cows to make these 3 cows and turn the game upside down.

By reducing the luck factor in schemes you are promoting consistency within a game which is a good idea and i cant argue about that. But i think its more fun to keep this element of luck, because it takes skill to use luck to you advantage.. and by doing one very skillfull turn its still something that needs to be rewarded aswell as playing safe over a couple of turns.

I dunno, i just think shopper should be luckly, thats what makes it fun. If you get cr8 raped, then badluck, but accept it. Pile more maybe? Anything can come in the next cr8 to turn the game around. Espically if its 3 cows on ur last turn!

Also, why do you think wxw became a scheme? Becuase people wanted a verison of shopper which was more rope based and less luckly. So if you want a less lucky scheme you have the option of wxw. Keep shopper as it was!

TUS Discussion / Re: Limited girders in T17
November 26, 2009, 07:53 PM
I disagree you can draw a game by blocking everyturn. You won't cause any damage and allow me to pick up more sd weapons, eventully you'll pick up weapons to attack with aswell and choose not to block.

I agree with umlimited griders for t17.

I also think the tus scheme has been editted. Me and crazy has noticed a difference on the cr8s and seems like you get ALOT of stronger weapons compared to FB scheme where there was medium strength and weaker weapons. Seems alot of games turn into 'attack attack attack'

Id really like TuS to just adopt the FB scheme as it has the right balance of cr8s and umlimited griders.

Leagues Complaints / Re: 12175 late report
November 23, 2009, 06:22 AM
if MI can adjust the points in certain situations i think some late reports could stand,. Obivously if a game is 24 hours late and loads of games played since its different to it being 1 hour late and only 1 game played since as this is an easy point adjustment?

Such changes not voiding all late reports and stopping certain free wins woud make stuff alot more sporting!

When is a good time for pp??
#1386
He didnt have scheme, so we used hosting buddy.. With random placements and many powerful weapons in cr8s. He fell on first turn and i piled 3 of his worms together cus of this, got cows in my cr8 and did a prefect double hit with cows resulting in the death of his 3 worms. He quit and said gg... If you read this NAiL its a fine example of luck scheme. Its good that its moved on since this!

point taken, i did rush into that post. i think its a shame fb shopper scheme isnt used, and umlimited zooks was added. For the scheme to be changed for less luck is bad.
If you want a luckless game thats what other schemes are for. I think its half the fun and risk of picking shopper is that you can get unlucky, so it might not be such an easy win as you'd hoped against a less skilled player because of that luck. In most cases your picking it because your rating is already so high in a scheme which involves less luck anyway?

We dont have a thread about taking weapons out of t17 due to luck, so why shopper?

I disagree..

umlimited zooks should be in wxw, it seems people use them to get extra retreat time. But they should not be in shopper.

Petrol bombs raping a hide is the fault of a player picking a shit map. Random shopper maps ftw or FFIEsupermariobro3.

Put hhg, cows and aqau back in the scheme.

FB shopper scheme is prefect!

i dont have a problem with the duration of inter, i like it as a scheme. My first point was tho that most people do have a problem with its duration??? And fitting a bo3 scheme into a bo1 schemed league could be a problem!

Hence if people decide on picks before a match starts they'll see someone wants to inter and accept of decline the match depending on the time they have and won't be subjected to someone reporting a game that never played as they refused in the first place.

Instead of a situation where i pick rr, we play it, u pick inter, i dont wanna play cus too long and you report a free win cus i refused.
#1394
i see ur point now, hence my other post about all playing rr without parachutes lol. Every scheme has an element of luck in it tho pr, thats what makes worms fun. But schemes also involve skill and using tactics to increase or decrease the factor of luck to ones advantage.

Bng is an expection, when u have two nice pros playing its normally a fair and nice game, bng is all about sportmanship, and people can dig and rape and stuff, and that normally results in other people playing to a similar standard. But when both players have respect for the honour in bng u get nice games.

T17 you can attack, make kills with weapons like uzi's, zooks, mortor suicides, mines, and use ur shit weapons too when u have skill. But i admit, it doesnt take skill to place a nana under a worm. But i think you judge everyone in t17 to just block every turn after getting a cr8. This rarely happens in any of the t17 games i play in. I probably don't even use my 7 griders that we've argued about before. But i still like the option of having to protect me from when i dont have luck on my side and play a defensive game. And normally when u block and lose control of map someone is gonna pick up a powerful weapon and finish you off anyway.
#1395
oh. i see what his argument is now. Inter isnt a luck scheme, it requires alot of skill. I used to play it seriously in some of the first CWT seasons! And yea, if u say inter is luck, then t17 is luck, shopper is luck, the wind in bng is luck, the cr8 placement in roper is luck, the placement in hysteria is luck, the weapons in wxw is luck. We may aswell just all rr without parachutes!
