Im a cash game player the most.

I take the first scope I found on sharkscope to explain poker isnt just gambling game.

Personnaly I would maybe play worms again if money is included same for fifa etc...

Im a gambler :) And Im not alone.

Personally I left my work (IT developper) to only play poker.
Its not just gamble!

Poker is around 40% skill, 30% "luck", and for some guy : between 10 and 20% discipline (bankroll management) & mental (tilt handling etc...).

If you have an edge on your opponent (skill, mental, management) you can only win in long term (many hands).
For poker it works, because fishes (noob) play just because they belive on the 30% of luck and are gamblers.

Whatever, if you want this to work for worms, I think the money can come only from players.
There is a bit of luck in worms (where the cr8 fall and other thing I think..)
You already play for virtual medail and to get respect from others.
Im sure you could play for money also.
The problem for worms is that its mostly a skill game. So the begginer won't bet against you all.
You have to find a way...
A system where beginner could play some beginner maybe.

Im sure there is something todo.

Maybe leagues
Maybe big tournaments (I heard about a worms tournament in paris with money)
Maybe heads up (one vs one)
Maybe challenge (Be the first to to something)
...

With my poker player community we do much "Side bet", and Im the first who asked players to play worms against me lol.

Maybe you should try money league with a game where skill is as import as luck.

When I see all things you already done here for the game.
I think it would be pretty easy for you to organize a real money league.
Not sure If it would be legal.
But you know, with site like neteller, moneybooker (skrill) or paypal.
Money transfer are simple over the web...
We use it a lot in poker for stacking, swapping etc...

Just do 3 differents leagues:
-Low stake : buy in 11$ (10$ for pricepool, 1$ for TUS) Top 3 in the money
-middle stake : buy in 55$ (50$ for pricepool, 5$ for TUS) Top 3 in the money
-high stake : buy in 110$ (100$ for pricepool, 10$ for TUS) Top 3 in the money
If you want to win some money you have to risk some money.

I used to play wa long long time ago.
Im a pro poker player now.
Holdem is a f@#!ing game with two cards and variance.
It works only because of $$$

Find a way to introduce money in da game.
