lol I agree with Anubis, but there must be some boundaries of improving input devices. I'm gonna finish a roping robot soon and let it rope for me, so I will just enjoy a wonderful roping :D

Yeah this is really the best point Kai. We do have to draw the line somewhere, we can't simply keep allowing more and more input devices whenever people start using something new, even though I do want to include as many people as possible into the non-cheating club.

I also think it's fine to minimize the effort it takes to rope/tap, but if you go too far with that thinking, it can ruin the game and make things too easy, and most of us love worms for the challenging skill sets we can develop. For finger rolling at least, we've already gone plenty far enough by allowing two spaces to be used. And that still requires some timing, at least avoiding pressing both buttons at the same time. This macro eliminates the timing needed for a quick one-two tap, which can take a long time to develop. And since a lot of people have already invested that time, I think at this point it would be unfair to them to allow something like this to be legal.

What Anubis said before doesn't really apply... even with the most sensitive kb (damn I really want one of those flat screens), you can't keep space held down and then press it with your other finger and still have it register, it's part of the game logic to not have that allowed.

I think we should make a list of rules for acceptable keyboard configurations, if only for the sake of new wormers who have no idea what is and isn't allowed. If I have some time, I'll get started on that today actually.

This really goes beyond the bounds of any kbs; since every kb has some kind of debouncing mechanism and some delay, it should be considered a cheat. I don't think CS should include something like this since it makes fr more challenging, and doesn't bode well with the history of WA. Personally I'd like to codify a set of rules for kb usage in WA so people stop coming up with questionable ideas like this.

Although we finished clanner playoffs, Dave made it clear he really, really wanted to play, and maybe we should have a rule regarding how many players in a clan need to participate in POs. I'd like to nullify the last game we played and let cfc pick BnG so we can have a more full set of games, would everyone in mm and cfc agree?

I don't care what anyone else says Cody, the mere fact you even suggest and offer this is priceless, I respectfully decline, and will find great happiness in the memory of your kind words instead, thank you :)

Also, i'd just like to point out for future reference, I won't say who, but someone in mm said this regarding the arrangement of PO's:

"mm is hard with all our different time zones"

No offense but, that's your problem, no one elses, that shouldn't make you try and innocently pressure or guilt trip anyone into playing faster or sooner just because you are present and available with your 1 man army - Mablak. Cuz it's damn obvious (im guessin) that's the reason why Dub wanted to play so fast lol, and I don't blame him, it's a good idea lol, "yay, Mablak, free wins xD"

Once again Mab, thanks again for the kind words :)

Appreciated Dave, but ask everyone in cfc, cause I'm interested in a more respectable win for my own sake too.

And Dub doesn't care about winning that much, we played because we were there, you shouldn't assume the worst. And my lack of availability requires me to play when people are ready and willing, or it's likely enough I won't be able to play at all. The 'problem' of my lack of time isn't forced on someone else when I make reasonable efforts to accommodate them; I didn't demand that cfc play under unfair conditions, and I said I'd be fine playing 1-2 games.

I didn't notice this game before, but I have to say I seriously doubt the situation is covered appropriately by the rules, which incidentally I can never even find on this site.

Personally, although I didn't think so a few years ago, I believe blocking rules in ropers need to be done away with, simply because there are too many situations like these where both sides aren't sure what to do. Any adequate definition of blocking, something that covers every situation, has to take at least a paragraph to explain, and that kind of convoluted rule isn't worth having when the alternative is just fine.

With blocking allowed, you could simply opt to play on maps with no blockable spots if you don't want to deal with blocking at all. And on maps with blockable spots, you'd just need to be extra careful where you hide; if you want to avoid getting a mine on your head by being up against a wall, you might pay the price and get blocked. The only situation that I used to be concerned about with blocking allowed was making a specially designed map where you could continually mine-block or ass-block (like a worm covering the exit of a very thin vertical passage) a worm to death, but it's not hard to spot maps with features like that, and even if you were playing on such a map, you should be able to avoid hiding in those susceptible spots.

mm won 3-1 vs TdC, roper elite and rr for us, and T17 for them. The elite has an embarrassing tie for both of us, it's kind of unbelievable ;0.

As soon as I know my schedule for the week tomorrow, we can plan some games vs cfc.

Yeah dev we didn't really need to make this thread, it's only creating negative feelings. Let's lock it ae?

Of course not NC, I meant we were both trying to get the games done with a less than ideal lineup up to that point, HHC asking for a better matchup may delay us too much.

We shouldn't have any hard feelings here, it's just a matter of practicality. It's perfectly reasonable to want to play with your best lineup, but asking for that will cause your opponents to do the same, causing delays.

We were playing with a less than ideal lineup today (with Dev being on laptop) because we wanted to get games done at the cost of winning. HHC didn't reciprocate that attitude, which is fine, but I feel that any further delays are his fault if he wants to play that way. The games weren't on short notice, and whether or not we agreed to finish all the games that night doesn't matter, HHC passed up the best possible chance to get them done, knowing that it's been difficult for mm to find time to play lately.

Me and Devilage played 3 games against TdC, it's 2-1 us, we picked RR next, but HHC refused to play. And I made it very clear that I rarely have time to play >_>. I can show up at 20 GMT tomorrow, but can any other mm make it tomorrow, Dub, Devilage, Shy? If not it'll be a day or two before I know my schedule for next week.

Alright, I'll try to be in AG on Friday at 20 GMT and onward, no one else in mm can commit so, if we don't get them done I think we should probably just have tdc move forward.

I can do: Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday around 20 GMT. It looks like I might really have to play since not so many mms are active, in which case I would only be able to schedule it beforehand.
