most of Turkish people has played a worms game in their life once and most of them played worms around 2004-2007 mostly. I remember i was playing wwp offline when i was 7 years old or something xD but unfortunately most of them wont play it now. I was playing wa in 2009, there was lots of good Turkish people like tenxone, cevval, steak, fume. But then i took a long break So after my long break from 2009, i returned in 2012. i saw that theres very few people in wormnet. So i decided to create a Turkish Worms site. And i created ultimateworms.tk

After creation of UC, i advertised this site to Turkish people in wormnet and some gaming sites. And i have 37 members on UC site now :) Most of people in UC started to play WA online seriously after they met me or registered UC site. I teached everything i know to them and also explained everything i know on UC site. And now they all are good wormers and i proud all of them :-* people of countries who has low number of players should do something like this if they want to increase that number. Its really works.

Instead of this, sometimes in school i offer "if you beat me once in 4 schemes i selected at WA, i ll give you 25 Lira (~14$ , ~10 €)" or something like this to my friends xDD actually this one works too ;D one of my friend thinking to start playing WA now xD
Sounds like you have done more for promoting worms than our very own worms promotion project team.  Great story man, especially having so many turkish members from a country with traditionally less people on wormnet.  I'm not sure I could get 37 americans for a worms group, lol.   Congratulations on your success.

WWP was 50$ when it came out.  WA was the same, it might have been 40$ or so.  WWP was WA DLC, plain and simple,  Ropa is right on this one.  Than again, DLC was basically nonexistent back then, but they released expansion packs for the first worms for a fraction of the cost of the full retail game, which is what T17 should have done.  Whatever the price points are now is irrelevant, what the cost was at release is the only relevancy when talking about whether or not T17 was moneygrabbing or not.

Komo, call of duty black ops 2 cost more than 100 million to develop.  Games are big business now, and to make money you have to spend money.  Ropa was half right when he was talking about it built from scratch, everything but the engine gets re-done, they have used the same engine for about the last 3 games (mostly because they gear the game toward consoles, and this generation of consoles is about maxed out).  They have never recycled a weapon game to game without reworking it.  WA ---> WWP used all the same weapons, they were so lazy they couldn't even add one stupid new weapon.  Hell, the rubberworm or whatever wormkit (someone correct me) has added more weapons than team17 has since 1998.  WWP probably cost nothing, save for the licensing to publish for the dreamcast and one programmer to port the game to PC (I can't imagine they needed more than that).  Team17 has missed the boat on really expanding their core franchises (alien breed, worms) and has instead time and time again regurgitated the same formula.  It's as if they wish worms to die a slow and painful death while squeezing every last dime out of the franchise.  They must keep their costs very low, because they are still in business despite not producing anything critically acclaimed in years.  They are going to ride the cold dead corpse of worms until the studio goes under, it seems.

I disagree, WWP for me is the 2nd best in the series, when WWP 1st came out, it was WAY better than WA imo, but when the updates with colour maps/replays/being able to minimise etc came out, WA became best again.

I so wish they had done all these updates to WWP and not WA, but what can you do lol...

Revolution on the other hand is a pile of utter shite...
I'm pretty sure replay files were first implemented with deadcodes patch of wa, but i might be wrong.  and color map importing, wormpot + minimization aren't worth paying full retail price.  WWP was one of the biggest money grabs out of any game i can remember.

I mean, let's be realistic the chances of W:A lifting off to gain more popularity are slim

Someone hasn't been paying attention to steam :P
Its a shame though that team17's profiteering has resulted in many like worms games, instead of one consolidated 2d worms community.  This diversification of like titles only widens the divide of the worms games.  I do applaud worms revolution, but WWP, W2:A (X360 & PS3), and W:Reloaded were obvious money grabs.  Despite worms revolutions shortfalls, it represents the first true gameplay innovations and basic game engine update since 1997.  It is crazy that team17 up to that point had recycled the worms 2 formula for so long.

I would rather have my girlfriend smoke pot than drink alcohol, but that's just me.  If it is a choice between light smoking and light drinking, I would prefer smoking, but I wouldn't mind if the girl drank lightly.  Alcohol is addictive and has a shit ton of health risks.  I would completely fine if my girlfriend got high every night.  I wouldn't be dating a girl that got drunk every night.
you would rather have a girlfriend over both those options shy bahahaha :D

Chelsea you deserve everything you get, trying to create bullshit topics and then locking them.  I've never seen anyone on the tus forums try so hard to be humorous or funny and yet fail so miserably every time.  And yet I admire your persistence.  Chelsea, if you are going to try and make fun of some people, be prepared to accept the backlash of your actions.  In a lot of ways, you are the anti-ropa.  Ropa doesn't give a shit what other people think, yet you seem to feel the need to control people's perceptions of you despite clinging to your 'most annoying wormer' archetype.  It's puzzling.

Hmm Wally, bl for you...

One of my mates was the same, but he only smoked it really because everyone else did, maybe u were the same? Was just something you grew up with? Some people aren't meant for it.
i started at age 13 and i smoked almost everyday from age 15 to 20.  i loved pot at first smoking all those years, i remember warming with you way back when and we would take breaks to roll or take bong hits, ect.  i even had a picture of me on cl2k mug shots blazing the weed.  i would smoke now, but its just not the same.  when i say i grew out of it i mean i changed my whole life to quit a host of other drugs and now not being in control or high bothers me.  alcohol is fine, i even take a bunch of prescription pills, the more i talk about it the more i sound like a hypocrite, im not really drug free, i just have legal drugs now lol.  im pretty sure people on here can relate because you have to be pretty addicted to computer games to get good at wa, thousands of games played in a year and such, ect.  if i didnt feel like the police were coming to knock down the door wherever i am smoking weed, i would likely still be doing it.

Quote from: TheWalrus on April 12, 2013, 09:12 PMWeed isn't that great of a drug anyways, I always end up having less fun when I smoke weed.  People just sit around and say stupid shit, you never seem to go out and do anything.

People are different, weed benefits me, it depends which type you smoke also, I don't care who believes what, but it's a good thing for me, although i've quit atm so I can save up money for a super PC.

Also, for me, weed is kinda like a favourite food, after a while it loses it's impact and I have to stop for a while so it becomes fresh again...
I'm biased though, I smoked up for years and years, then quit for a few years.  When I tried smoking weed again, it made me paranoid every time I smoked and just wasn't fun anymore.  Grew out of it.  At the time it served its purpose, but i never wanted to be doing drugs or drinking heavily forever.  To me there isn't anything more pathetic than a 40 or 50 year old alcoholic or burnout that leans on alcohol or drugs to cope with daily pressures.

I'm also trying to save up money so I can go to paramedic school next summer and eventually become a fireman (crossing my fingers for complete legalization soon, or I might move to Colorado for this... they do random drug tests).  I plan on writing my screen plays as a fireman (they have a lot of free time, 24 hour shifts, next 48 - 72 hours off.)  It's a good fallback job that doesn't require a full blown college degree.  And yeah, the job is really easy - check people out and stock stuff when there's no one in line.  I'd be working full time in the summer, so I'd make a good sum of money for doing monkey work, which I don't mind because it's contributing to my future goals
you realize it is insanely hard to get a job as a fireman, right?  even without you being a potsmoking fireman, that only makes it harder.  it would be a shame to f@#! up a great job for marijuana.  Weed isn't that great of a drug anyways, I always end up having less fun when I smoke weed.  People just sit around and say stupid shit, you never seem to go out and do anything.
