TUS Discussion / Finally upgrading from Worms 2; where to start?
« on: April 19, 2020, 03:15 PM »
Hey guys! I'm a Worms 2 fan, played in cases ladder BnG back when it first came out as "TobyNet", and it was the reason I bugged my parents to get the internet! Now I'm a 27 year old grown ass man... who wants back into worms.

I have a seperate old XP machine I leave out to play worms 2 locally and the mission mode.

Decided to finally get Worms Armageddon on my laptop since it is supported, has online play etc!

Just downloaded from steam, played the training and some missions, great. Checked out the online, cool. I remember seeing WWP and it looks similar. As a w2 fan... man w2 was the stuff, the front end, the "patch34" or whatever it was called unlocking ridiculous settings. The soundtrack was stellar, everything so far in W:A sounds atmospheric? The W2 soundtrack is on spotify so might have to loop that.

But what I do like about W:A so far is the resolution, and those training missions where you continually act and move without turnover felt great. I always heard the rope got changed alot between W2 and WA, is this true? I've barely tried it so far, it feels fine (used to do a bit of Rope Racer back in the day, but I was always a BnG specialist).

---Question Time

1. Is there a beginners guide to setting up W:A to be as editable as W2 was? I've searched the forums both looking and search bar and can't find anything on how to get started playing properly. Obviously I am aware these kinds of questions are annoying to see pop up on forums ("find it yourself!! look around!! learn like the rest of us!!") but if any kind soul can hook me up with where to start and get involved that would be great!).

2. Is there a discord server? Haven't seen one on the site?

3. Any old worms 2 players knocking about for some nostalgia?

Thanks! Its cool to be back :). From my perspective, as a Worms 2 player... Worms Armageddon feels like a brand new worms game has launched!
