Steps, there is no need to use your installers when you have the game already installed.

For the purposes of restoring associations all that is required is to run WA.exe once with elevated priviledges (unless someone else can advise on this).

I am not and have never suggested you should always run the game as administrator.

Just to clarify, you only run as admin once to restore the associations. After changing the folder I can no longer open replay files and without running as admin these associations are never restored.

Also, as in my first post try changing the name of the folder in which WA is installed into.

Had a problem in the past few days, once I minimized worms from frontend or the game it is impossible to restore it.

I know Husk has been having the same problems, after reinstalling everything found out that it works when you change the WA installation folder ex. from "/Team 17/Worms Armageddon" to "/Team 17/WA" for instance.

No idea why or how, but it seems to fix it (for now). You might want to ensure the "Restore associations on open" checkbox is ticked in Advanced Options so that you can still open wa:// links and the replay files are able to be open (right click wa.exe>run as admin only once for this to work). To clarify you do not always run the game in admin mode, you do this only once to restore associations.

Also I just seen camper mention this fix in another win 7 thread so i'm sure i'm not the first to figure this out but if you're having problems minimizing its worth a go.

ps. this scheme is better cos u dont have the same fkn hide all game. u can actually use the rest of the 85%+ of the map.

here's another w2 inspired rope scheme that plays pretty much the same but u get more retreat

basics are:

• destructible terrain, best played with maps with thin boundarys so the map opens up as u play
• 10s turn time + 10s retreat
• no cba - same strategy as avis but this time u get time to attack and can get crate after attack
• no delay on weapons
• higher fd like w2 - u dont wanna fall + be careful of hiding on top

optionals:

• set sd to whatever u want
• water drop, dont matter on and off

same strategy in that u dont wanna hide close to ur opponent cos they get easy attack and 10s to rope to their crate

still ain't perfect scheme but plays fun and is more strategic than get crate (lucky) and hide close to opponent

see replay for example, watch in fast forward u can get the idea pretty quick (press 5 on ur keyboard)
