General discussion / Re: Android app makers?!?!

and also, how possible do you think it would be to make an app that allows you to view w:a replays???  obviously not play.. (all though there is a worms game for droid in the market place for 1.99$)
That's impossible. Unless you find a way to run W:A on iOS or Andorid. That's more or less impossible too tho. ;)

You could try to set the Windows energy save options to "high performance". There are cases where Windows doesn't recognize full screen applications as "priority worthy" and therefor sets the cpu clock to minimum for example. Just an idea though, not sure if it works... you can access those settings over Start -> control panel -> hardware and sound (or equal) -> Energy settings (or equal).

Well, by this reasoning, using slow motion programs would be perfectly legal if Cybershadow and Deadcode weren't around, since without those two, we wouldn't be able to detect them.

The point is, when it comes to a complaint or a suspicious replay you just cannot proof that some1 has been marking his display. Same with using cheat programs, there was long discussion about SnipeR, finally he admitted he used some AHK script, but if that wouldn't have been the case, his ban would be well controversial as MonkeyIsland never really gave any exact information how they have detected him using the script. Now imagine a mass of complaints if you set up this rule without being able to prove it (especially in a scheme like bng where people spot laming and cheating all over the place). Pointless.

What's the point in setting up a rule when you can't confirm that someone was breaking that rule... you give the use of cheat tools as an example, probably referring to SnipeR using AHK, getting banned for that. Well, MI must have had sure proof for him using that tool otherwise he wouldn't have gotten banned. Or at least he must've thought he has sure proof. ;)

A rule regarding this would not be pointless. We already have rules that are important, but still unenforceable, namely regarding the use of external programs and macros. People really shouldn't vote yes just because it can't be enforced; there would still be an effect on honest players who want to play by the rules (and people can still change their votes btw).

By labeling markings as illegal, that would mean players using them are actually cheating, not just doing something 'lame'. 'Lame' isn't a deterrent for players like me, I only care about the rules, and using every legal advantage I can. This poll will at the very least affect whether I use markings or not, I wouldn't have started it if I was content using them and keeping it to myself.

How will you detect people marking their display?

I used to have a clan mate on wwp who used marks on his laptop's screen which he made by pressing it with his finger nail. Always seemed a bit nerdy to me and i still think so. :) Anyway, there is just no way to detect if someone uses marks on his display, so i think the discussion whether to allow it or not is quite obsolete...

Well if you would go strict by the rules and they aliased in league games they should, that's not the point though. :) Everyone deserves to get a warning first, and when he got penalized he deserves to get a 2nd chance. That doesn't mean ppl who are notoriously and simply only into breaking the rules deserve their 100th chance. He got banned from every single league he's been participating in at least once, that actually says everything. And if you still wanna go on arguing like he was banned only for aliasing komo then i'm talking to walls and wasting my time. He surely wasn't banned from anything only for aliasing komo.

- this ban only let him act like he is something special, and its kinda useless when he can bypass it.

I wouldn't know how that would affect people, he's muted here anyway, so noone would even notice that he would act like he was something special. :) That's the case anyway, whenever a thread like this pops up tho.

- afaik he got banned for aliasing komo and playin tus matches with this nick, thats more a problem of tus, not of cybershadow imo.

In fact he aliased dozens of people. Plus he lied, broke several rules on this site, got banned, got unbanned (not only from this site, but also from ONL league, Crespo's Worms tournament and probably other leagues), got muted from the forums here and what not. So saying that he got banned for aliasing komo only is not only untrue but it's a laugh. But well, good luck in your effort to get him unbanned, this martyr of wormnet who so unjustified was sent to prison. :) Maybe time to make a new sig "Free Doubletime", i bet he would like that much.

Well, i guess the only guy who can decide whether he gets unbanned or not is Cybershadow as he kinda runs Wormnet. If you want him unbanned, you better speak to him...

What would be the benefits of having him unbanned? You talk like it would be a good idea and you're actually showing some commitment to have him unbanned... so there should be a reason for that, he's a good friend of you, you think he would have been treated unfair or something? Or do you simply miss the drama on these forums, life is boring without a guy like him here? Don't want to judge about all that, it's your opinion, just trying to understand it. :)

I don't get it i must admit... what exactly is your concern? If he's banned from wormnet then it's surely not the TUS mod's work to get him unbanned or whatever.  And if Cybershadow or whoever got a lot of complaints about the guy then the ban is 100% justified too and should not be lifted.
