To be honest, there's NO reason why we should wait FOUR WHOLE YEARS for a new version of a game to come out, ESPECIALLY if it still has a loyal community. At least they aren't shutting down the servers anytime soon.

why do u so badly need a new version of the game? what's wrong with the current version? also 4 years is not a long time considering some players have played this game 18 years
You're right, but there's something suspicious about waiting such a long time. You see, Windows 10 has a rolling release System.
Windows 10's rolling releases could break parts of Worms Armageddon, so they should at least release a quick patch on the current version until the next version comes out (3.7.2.2?)

Promotion Project / Idea

Worms Armageddon has been stagnant, so I have a few ideas to get back at least a little of its former glory.

-Worms Armageddon TV (Can be on YouTube, VidLii, BitChute, PewTube, or any other site that supports gaming videos)
-64 Bit Worms Armageddon (This will future-proof WA, and create whole new ideas for more Updates. Sure, things might be broken. However, at least there will be more updates.)

-New Demos (The old ones are not only ancient, but they are completely useless on newer machines. Like the 64-bit and Mobile ideas, this might take a little work.)
-A mobile version of Worms Armageddon, probably based on the console versions (since they're easier to port, and Team17 will probably not mind Reverse Engineering by Deadcode/CyberShadow.).

-Get Bigger YouTubers (or whatever channels they're called [VidLii-ers?]) to play Worms Armageddon (That's an easy way to get more players, and some of them might stay for future events.)

Took you long enough for the first match of 2018, which just shows how stagnant the WA community seems to be getting lately.

I get what he means. ;)

I had the impression that Worms is working with integers all the time anyway because it is so much deterministic.
The game works with fixed-point numbers, where 16 bits are used to represent the integer part, and 16 bits the decimal part.
Before attempting to port to mobile devices, the game would first have to be ported to other PC platforms such as Mac and Linux. The biggest problem is MFC which is used by the game's frontend. Until those obstacles are resolved, mobile is not a possibility.
Maybe we can base it on one of the console versions? They would be easier to work with!

so just stop playing this game. nobody will miss you
Seriously? This game barely gets any players as it is! Why do you want him to leave when the game gets very few players? That could threaten a game with as small of a community of players as W:A has in 2018!

General discussion / Re: Do You enjoy 3.8?

Of course we don't! It's not even out yet!

But we will IF it comes out (at this point, it's a matter of IF it comes out, not when.).

Quote from: skunk3 on December 30, 2017, 09:53 PMTeam17 takes forever to do anything, especially if it is related to something that is not bringing them in money. WMD players were promised a whole list of things that never got incorporated, and we were also promised new terrain themes after the launch of the Nintendo Switch version. The Switch version has been out for a while now and there's been no news whatsoever of when the new themes are going to be released on Steam.

T17 = EA

General discussion / My Opinion

They should release it, as Worms Armageddon is slowly losing players. Then Again, Worms Armageddon 4.0 is probably using up all that valuable time, and that time could've been spent on the short-term 3.8.

Maybe in 4.0, but not now.

Bug Report / [SOLVED] Remove AIM Links
December 26, 2017, 09:35 PM
AIM shut down on December 15, so there's no point in keeping an outdated link anymore. Unless someone's using the IWARG AIM Phoenix servers, which is unlikely considering how few people have actually even heard of that shit. So yeah, please remove AIM Links.

MSN Messenger and YIM links can go away too, considering how those services shut down long before AIM did.

Maybe replace them with Discord/VidLii/YouTube/Alternative eMails/Reddit Links?

I think #worms on IRC will be always on, in case you want to find people.

And I don't think TUS will ever go down, even if WormNET does. Even if MI will need money to pay for servers, he can always put some ads and I don't think anybody will ever complain.
I have adblock, so I don't want to disable it on a site that puts out "Spank the monkey"/"Free Plugin"/"Update Required"/"You won a Free" [put hot new item that you're not going to get here]/Giant/Unclickable/Pop-up/Noisy (I don't want my mom to get pissed off because of something out of my control)/pre-roll/retargeting/self-righteous/lotto/male enhancement (you probably know what that is)/Nigeria/female enhancement/Mortage (It has even infected my RADIO STATION that I listen to while playing Worms)/other bullshit. If you're going to make TUS ad-supported, at least put on ads that aren't shit.

Putting ads that are bullshit will only drive more people away from TUS

I guess that I'll have to have THREE installations of Worms Armageddon on my machine, so yeah. Once RubberWorm and the other WormKit modules are released, I won't need 3.7.2.1 anymore, so I'll remove it, and free some space, which could be used for Version 4. As for my other installation (3.6.31.0), that will be kept until PX is updated or a PX successor is released.

Stay XP.
Or at least stick with Windows 8.1 (and the newest WA version), which I haven't had trouble with, although results may vary.

Tech Support / Re: Weird bug with PX replay
December 26, 2017, 08:53 PM
This is why we need PX or a successor to it for 3.8! That way, people will finally upgrade from a 7-year-old version of Worms Armageddon.

Seriously, the version PX supports is older than my OPERATING SYSTEM! And I use Windows EIGHT POINT ONE!

Also, the version that we're all currently using is older than the PLAYSTATION FOUR! Yes. I REALLY hope that a PX successor is made for the new version. That way, there will be no incentive to stick to 3.6.31.0, which is so old, TrentBarton was still using the 2003 design for all of their buses at that point (if you're into buses), and I was still in ELEMENTRY SCHOOL! I was born on 7/9/2000.

Also, I was still in Middle School the last time a new WA version came out. Considering how 3.8 was 4 years in the making, 4.0 will probably end up being at least double that time.
