I'm not taking the vaccine. Before you say I'm an Anti-vaxxer, here's the REAL reason.

Gaming Central / The year is 2068, things have changed.
« on: December 08, 2019, 02:55 AM »

I don't know where I'm gonna put it, but Mutant Rampage BodySlam appears to have predicted the future DISTURBINGLY accurately. If you don't know what that game is, it's a CD-i beat-em-up game from the 1990's that probably one of the better games on the system. The intro is below

If it were 1994, I'd laugh it off as just another stupid game from a system that didn't really get a massive audience. However, basically EVERYTHING in the first sequence of the game's intro has become reality or is VERY likely to become reality in the near future.

Millennium Wars: War against Terror
Grey Tremor Plague of 2017: California's Disease outbreaks
Thanatos Meltdown: Fukishima Meltdown
Gene Pool alteration: I've heard of some people trying to spread what I Call "Radical Gene Pool alterations"
Technology Advanced: That's EXACTLY what's happening
Bio-Engineers have created Animal-Human hybrids: China is doing THIS with Pigs and Monkeys
Athletes are commonly enhanced with bionics: Cybathlon in Kloten
Cybernet (fiber-optic network) links everything: Internet of Things and 5G

Mutant Rampage Bodyslam may have just been a regular game in 1993, but with the things it got ominously CORRECT, it won't be long until the world potrayed in it becomes OUR REALITY. In fact, I'd say it will DEFINITELY happen by 2068. I think watching the intro might be a good exercise to see how disturbingly CLOSE it is to where we are right now.

Announcements / Re: Worms Armageddon 3.8.0 changelog sneak peek
« on: October 14, 2019, 07:57 PM »
Was there really a demand for big and colored maps back in the day?
Was there a demand for electricity back in stone age?

This feature is the reason why modern worms era is so bad. Everyone plays on big maps instead of tight ones. I hate big rr, tower rr, trick race and other noob schemes that were made because of that feature.
We shouldn't promote drug use on TUS.
Do it in safety of your home guys, stop sharing opinions with others when you're high.

there were leagues before replays
Were they any good? Usability, cheat-proofing etc

built-in ranks which allowed to play ranked games within the game. They could bring it back
How long would it last before getting hackered again?

Why not implement wkWormNAT into the game
It currently depends on a community server, what if it goes down? If everyone was to start using it, would the server go fine with this extra load?
Remaking all of this into an official feature with proper support would be great yeah.

As for cheaters, some kind of anti-cheating software could be developed. Just like it's done in counter-strike and other games.
While some kinds of cheats can be avoided by restructuring the game logic, others aren't really avoidable - such as macros or aimbots. One exception to this are anti-cheat modules, such as GameGuard and Valve Anti-Cheat. We really don't want to go in this direction, since such software usually intrudes on players' privacy and is expensive (in terms of resources) to develop and maintain.
[...]
Blocking WormKit-like software is impossible, short of going the GameGuard-like rootkit-spyware route.

it's hard to find ttrr players anymore because everyone plays big rr instead.
Just play tight Big RR maps then.
Doubt TTRR's player count would increase much even if Big RR was suddenly gone forever. I wouldn't want to train for months, find a good keyboard and find a worthy opponent who did the same, all just to have a good game.
I guess bigrr is like billiards and ttrr is like snooker...

billiards is more accesible for most, while snooker requires more precise control

Without replays, unfortunately you can't trust everyone to play fairly :/
*shrugs* I can't trust everyone to play fairly even with replays.
1. I think the Stone Age didn't even know what "electric" even MEANT!
2. Drugs are bad, M'Kay.
3. Not to mention, all of the lost history because the matches never got recorded.
4. I think a wrestling-like "belt" system might be good, since I bet that wouldn't be hacked anytime soon. If a player hasn't played in 6 months, vacate the title.
5. We can last one more version with separate WormNAT, it won't be the end of the world. Besides, adding WormNAT would only delay this version FURTHER.
6. Or worse: DENUVO!
7. Plus, noobs (and noobs at heart, like I am.) HATE timed matches.
8. On top of that, Replays are the reason we can look at many players today. The matches we played before the replays are like the Early history of TV: Nothing got recorded, so there's LITERALLY nothing to watch because nothing even EXISTS these days. Even now, replays are the KEY to the preservation of the history of this game.

General discussion / Re: Unlimited teams?
« on: August 25, 2019, 01:11 AM »
The dude wasn't even asking about having 48 teams in-game.
There is a 32 teams limit in the team file. You can't create more than that amount. This is a limitation of the file format that cannot be bypassed at the moment. Although you could keep multiple User\Teams\WG.WGT files, each with its set of 32 teams. But you won't be able to swap them without quitting the game first.

Yeah, and is there a way to upgrade the limit? ???
Wait until 3.8 comes out, or 4.0, because it might be the droid that you're looking for, as it might upgrade the team file format.

Someone should be able to create a 48-team mod, with as many teams as you want as long as the number of worms is less than 48.

Gaming Central / Re: Anthem & Division2 on PS4. lets do this...
« on: July 30, 2019, 07:33 PM »
I think not. Anything with EA attached to it, is a big no no.

Granted, game looks gorgeous, kudos to the developers.

I heard good things, but I am skeptical.

So still, big no no.

But I am not trying to prevent anyone from joining you or anyone else. I am exercising caution for anyone who intends to invest time and money into an EA game.
So true

EA stands for Evil Apes

Cherry MY! All hail the wet newspaper gods!

In all seriousness, though, I'd use a retro Alps SKCM keyboard. Use a PS2 to USB converter if you have a modern PC. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with a Rubber Dome keyboard that is hindering my performance.

Off Topic / Re: Do you believe in the existence of aliens?
« on: July 22, 2019, 12:20 PM »
The universe is very large. Very, very, very large indeed. It has a lot of planets in it. Our technological prowess is not even close to sufficient for getting out there to directly inspect any of those other planets (we haven’t even been to Mars in person yet), but we can tell the planets exist. It therefore seems rather likely that, among the 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets (count ‘em) in the observable universe, and an unknowable number beyond, there is at least one other with a significant biosphere, with complicated native organisms. Where there are complicated organisms, there is the potential for personhood to be achieved, though not necessarily in a form we’d readily recognize or find comforting to meet.

As my credential for this topic mentions, I don’t believe that aliens are lurking in our midst or any such thing; UFOs are not credible in my eyes, never have been. But it’s really quite a bizarre idea that, in all the planets out there that could, none of them have or one day will have life on them. There’s just so many, and our own existence proves that life is possible. And our sapience proves that sapience is possible.

Meeting any aliens is another matter. I’m kind of hoping that some sort of FTL method will be developed at some point in history, though I would be surprised if that were possible at all and absolutely flabbergasted if it were figured out within my own lifetime. It would probably permanently blow my mind. Maybe we’ll figure out cryogenics instead, that sounds more plausible.
Well, the Naruto Runners to Area 51 might find that out for themselves.
As for me, I feel like aliens exist.

Worms Armageddon SHOULD be fixed in 3.8
... that might very well release together with Half-Life 3.
Trust me, we'll be at Worms Armageddon 66.6 before Half Life 3 releases!

I tried to, but Worms Armageddon's frontend is a slog to record with OBS. I couldn't do it, so I tried HyperCam. Of course, that didn't do the trick. However, I WILL give you an error log.

As for the screenshot, Imagine Worms Armageddon put through Vinesauce's Corruptor.
