the editor u get, is the very same the game company used to make lots of single player campaign tracks. as u can see from the end of the 2nd video, it shows u can do alot of different stuff in the editor that has nothing to do with trials. the editor pwns that much.. if u ever get bored of the trials, just go to online to download user made tracks with game altering gameplay.
and u shudn't get bored of trials when there are user made tracks like these:

there's the local multiplayer and online multiplayer modes, where u can play from track types such as supercross and trials. from the beginning of video it shows supercross track types, and from 5 min starts trials:
