The current url design is more tidy than subdomainal one because you have constant decreasing of site part size there:
tus-wa.com [the whole thing] -> category [lesser] -> page [lesser]

As for my taste, this is better than
category -> tus-wa.com [bigger] -> page [much lesser]

Anyway, it's just my uneducated opinion, nothing of what you should really listen to

Other than SEO, I'm trying to dump 'forums' in some urls.

For example,
tus-wa.com/forums/arcade/ will be arcade.tus-wa.com or chess.tus-wa.com.
Forums will be used only for boards and posts on forums, not anything else:
forums.tus-wa.com/bOr as for bOr clan board.  forums.tus-wa.com/23-some-topic

Google had cached around 10, 000 pages of TUS. But it dropped it all. It is now around 650.
I'm gonna do a little bit SEO on the urls.

If you want the best SEO result use a sitemap and the google webmaster tools
