Answer truthfully. My favorite is Worms Ultimate Mayhem (Remaster of Worms 4 or something I forgot).

Im gonna say Worms 4: Mayhem and Worms 3D because of thier mods.

Worms 3D is my favorite worms game in 3D. It was my first Worms game to move into the realm of 3D and I was excited! Sadly, my PC couldn't handle it, because of its low end specification of its time; Intel Celeron single core @ 1.8ghz, 224mb ram, and 32mb integrated graphics. Once I got it running on my updated laptop and desktop both with Pentium 4 processors, it ran smoothly and I rejoiced! The idea of moving in a 3D environment in a freaking worms game was mind boggling for me, and I was happy. I remember the music was pretty smooth, good ambient vibe in it, I liked it. So yeah, might not be THE best game in the series or any game for that matter, but it holds a nostalgia candle for me

Do the 2.5D Worms games count as 3D here? If so, I'd have to go with Worms Clan Wars.

The true 3D games are kinda fun. I liked the one that was on Gamecube, I think. My problem with Worms being in true 3D is that it removes a LOT of strategy from traditional Worms gameplay because all you have to do is just rotate around the object that you want to hit until you can find a clean shot and then shoot. The controls were also a bit clunky.

I prefer Worms Forts, why?

1 - The rules are different: you must destroy enemy's worms/stronghold to win.
2 - Build Towers, Keeps, Castles and Citadel to make more damage.
3 - AlexBound and co. are starting to make mods of this game.

And I'm gonna answer my own question again, 2 years later. Worms Ultimate Mayhem is one of my favorite Worms games, I liked the cutscenes, loved the Worms themselves and enjoy destroying all my enemies, in 3D! But I can see why they are viewed down upon by some Worms fans. Something just doesn't feel right when playing Worms Ultimate Mayhem. I think it's just because at this point I've played more 2D Worms than 3D Worms. Like the game works, it's actually fun, but it just still doesn't feel right.

There we go. I might at one point finish Worms Forts: Under Seige.
