Quote from: darKz on July 24, 2010, 05:07 AMStrange, I've been an active league player since cl2k and I never saw something like this done before.. Also, times have changed, maybe it's worth a shot now?
I think the first attempt was at WACL, then WL, then FB.. well.. there must have been two times we've tried such a league.
Too bad all the data has been erased from the internet by now

(and that my memory is so poor). I'm not sure whether the players were then randomly assigned to a team or picked by a team captain (a real draft). I think there were about 10-12 players in each team and the teams were named like Komo said: green, blue, red, etc.
I think something like 3 games were played in total

So yeah, I'm thinking activity will be the biggest problem.. partly because it's hard to find a mate and partly also because the team mates are not acquainted with each other.
That's why I suggested playing either 1vs1
or allow any players to form a team for a match and just count the outcome towards their respective clans.
QuoteThe only problem I see is how to display overall standings.. Maybe just have loads of statistics? Like, which player has the highest win percentage, who gained most points for his clan(s), what's the most successful player combo? Etc etc.
Individual stats should be important, because it gives a player something to work towards, even if the team lets him down.
There should also be a team/clan rating though. And probably one that doesn't cost you too much if you lose a game (I think it would be good when newbies can only contribute points to their clan and not substantialy detract from them, that would create a bad atmosphere).
