I strongly believe the scores should be out of 7.5 if it's going to be 45 seconds.

lol why? I don't understand the out of 7.5, just curious.

Because you deserve, at most, 3/4 of the full score for a turn that lasts 3/4 of a full Warmer turn.

Keeps the scores between this and the style contests comparable, at least on paper... kind of. Even though the criteria are slightly different between the two (if I'm reading the description right), it still makes sense to me that doing the same thing on the same map here and online should give you a score that's in the same ballpark at least.

I was wondering when you were gonna turn up.

This is right up your street.

My, um... err... hands are blistered, yeah, that's right. That's why I haven't roped in months. :-[

Or you could try 45sec too in a live style contest tournament :]

I'm just trying new things to help bring warmer back a little closer to what it once was in the old days.

Same drill as last time then, franz? You'll judge the first batch with 7 days to go?

I was thinking either that or until enough different players participate, whichever came first.

So I might do score them soon, and if so, score all the following ones every few days.

Gotcha.

I'll see if I can produce something decent (and actually decide which of my turns is the best), but I can't see myself competing with a warmed up DubC... certainly not with 45s turns.  :D

Edit: There, I sent one in last night. Apart from the 20:32 turn, you may consider the one at 19:23 as my second submission if you end up having the time to look at it. But I'm pretty sure it deserves a lower score.

In an online style contest you get 15 seconds more, each second adding exponentially more difficulty, and only three attempts. Scoring a 5 there is something remarkable, and hard to see.
Consider that, and maybe you'll realize about the proper merit of these scores. :)

We were going to host experimental (not so official) X-Worms contests with Mablak, to try ideas out, but we didn't have a chance so far. Maybe sometime before the next Olympics.
