Finished

Description:
General rules
  • Place your worm on start, bungeerace to the finish.
  • Small short cuts are allowed, but if there's an error in the map that allows you to skip several jumps, you're not allowed to use that.
  • Blocking is not allowed. If your opponent is blocked by your worm, move out of the way and skip turn.
  • If somebody drowns and kills his last worm, the game must restart at the last positions the worms were in and the surviving player starts.
  • If you teleport back to a spot after drowning your worm, your opponent must skip turn.
  • If there are multiple worms and someone accidentally moves the wrong worm, his opponent must skip turn.
  • If you mess up your bungee and have to redo a few jumps, you can not teleport back.
  • If you fall down because your opponent knocks you, you are allowed to teleport back and your opponent must skip turn.
  • Use Racingstuff during the games.

Activity rules

  • Games in the group phase are best of 1.
  • Games in the knockout phase are best of 3.
  • Deadlines for each round are 2 weeks.
  • If you can't play your games within the deadline (vacation, exams, opponent not online), post in this forum, so I can make exceptions.

And finally, please arrange your game if you can't find your opponent! If your opponent is hard to reach because of time zones or active clanning/single league, it would help enormously if there's one day/time when your opponent can find you.

Dear D1, please change cup rules! Bungee Race may be played with teleport if scheme has it!
"If you mess up your bungee and have to redo a few jumps, you can not teleport back." - this rule breaks the whole game and makes players punished just because of loosing luck for a while.
The rule may sound like "If you gone back with bungee, you can teleport back if the map wasn't designed for going back in that place" or smth like that. Current rule totally breaks everything - both fairplay and fun.

DarkOne

This is how bungeerace has always been played and it's a fair rule.
The only problem I could see with the rule is that maps could become too challenging.

But honestly, isn't maps being challenging a good thing?
As for this point:

I you went back with the bungee, then clearly the map was designed in a fashion that made it possible to go back.

Not really. There is NO possibility to make map the way so it was impossible to go back. Bungee Race may be played the way it's usually played - no need in creating a bicycle.
BTW, I and Wolfgang have cancelled one game just because in map we played it was easier to go back than forward (that map is featured at WMDB)

Only if you suck at making maps ;)

Dulek

Same goes to boom race, where's also a possibility of moving backwards. It's quite ridiculous for me seeing people teleporting back in boom race for their own hastiness and same goes for bungee race. Just be more careful in such parts, because it's your fault you landed in the wrong place.

M4Dbrat

My fault? Most of the faults in Boom/Bungee race are caused by luck factor. That featured map made me extremely raged when I had to repeat 1st jump over 6 times! I am sure you would agree with me if something similar would happen to you.

DarkOne

Bungeerace isn't all that lucky, M4dbrat. The bungee is a very flexible item - if you know how to use it. If a certain tactic isn't working, change your tactic. It's all about knowing how to control your momentum, either by increasing it or by purposefully reducing it slightly.
Now, of course there are a couple of maps that suck, but I'm not going to change the rules because of bad maps.

This way you can call any map bad.
I can't understand one thing: why are you taking Bungee and Boom race as one kind? These are completely different races. I never teleported back in Boom, but always did in Bungee. If there's a reason why that rule exists for all these years, why is it suddenly cancelled in one cup?

Believe me, it happened to me dozens on times and I accept it as my own mistake always.

Because both are RACES? :O The fact you never teleported back in boom race doesn't mean some things are't similar to bungee race, you go forward in both.

Bungee concerns A LOT of other things DarkOne mentioned above. You're saying that mistakes are caused by luck mostly but what with your succesful turns? Also luck involved in most cases? If so, stop relying on that, because bungee is very skillful game.

M4Dbrat

I agree that Bungee Race is skillful, but people usually design maps according to global game rules. Next time, if you change smth in rules, please set recommended mappack or smth like that. Now I'm out of arguments.

Just for the record - once you sign in into a cup you're obligated to read its rules, just in case something might be different. :)

That's what I know - I have some experience in laws; but even constitution can be changed. This cup just left me no choice. Well, we've finally picked a good map and finished it in 1 hour or more this way.

By my knowledge, it has never been played with teleporting back to the jump where you screwed up. I've been playing bungeerace since before colour maps. You're the first person to bring up this supposed rule, in fact.

lolwut? People usually play with this rule on WormNet (if they, sure, do), and... it's even mentioned in scheme description. Well, OK - I signed for this, and I'll try playing it like it's written in description. But please note that with your rule:
1) not every map can fit the game;
2) Teleport should be removed (sic!) from the scheme.
