Yeah people, I see a lot of inactive players  :(

2 weeks is the final deadline, play or gtfo!  ;D

HHC

Added a week to the deadline, cause so few games played.   :(

Make me proud  ;)

me neither, until I added him in skype: Mihnea Lazăr, the one from Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Crok

Here I am! Sorry about this, my appearances are sporadic. :D
Feel free to add me on skype, or on Windows Live, but usually when I'm free to play, I'm on snooper.

- The correct order of placements in the groups is decided by:
1) overall record (with 1-1 being better than 1-2)
2) rounds record (BOTH rounds won AND rounds lost)
3) mutual result (between tied players)
4) if all of the above are the same, I count worms (and after HP's of worms if the same).

Overall record of Statik is better. 1-0 > 1-1.
Rounds aren't considered for overall record, only when the overall is the same.

Rok

That's ridiculous.

Given that berria played both his games before statik played his first one, statik had no incentive to play his second game (quite the contrary, playing with random00 could've made situtation worse for him if he lost 2:0). He just needed to wait for the deadline.

Given that you're not participating in this cup, nor are a cup mod, you have no business here making drama.

On the subject: it's not true. Berria played ssm this morning, after the deadline had passed and after statik had finished his game.
There are drawbacks to the system, I can see that, but all ways to settle draws do have 'em. What if Statik's opponents weren't motivated anymore to finish their games. Would it be right to kick Statik out even though he was never able to finish his matches?

People tend to solve this with extending deadlines, which may be right, but it does delay everything. The group stage was already delayed a full week. If I have to choose between 1-0 and 1-1 I go for 1-0 as the better record. That may benefit the inactive player, but IMO it's a better record than 1-1.

TheKomodo

I think it's the wrong decision as well, berria put the effort in, he deserves to go through, statik could always lose his other games, it's always been like that...

That's not worth responding to.

My bad, I looked top-to-bottom insted bottom-up.

You can't even meaningfully compare 1-0 and 1-1, not in a round-robin group where all games are supposed to happen.  You can chose to discard the game that was reported after the deadline. Then it's 1:0 for statik and 0:1 for berria. Can you accurately tell who did better given that they didn't play against the same opponents? I don't think so.

The best you can IMO do here is assign results of games that didn't happen as draws.

You then get

              Random00   Berria   Statik  ssm
Random00      X             2         1       2     = 5
Berria             1              X         1      1     = 3
Statik             1              1         X       1    = 3
ssm                0              0         0       X    = 1

Still a tie.

DarkOne

There's something odd about your table there, Rok. Why is Statik's win over _ssm_ only 1-0 while Random's win over _ssm_ is 2-0? Same applies to Berria's win while I'm at it, so that would put them both at 4 round wins. Round losses is a different matter, though, Statik would win that.

On the other hand...

What if Statik is the problem? The only games missing are the ones where Statik is involved. Clearly, his other opponents found each other, but Statik didn't. I don't see any evidence of any of the players on this forum that they were trying to find each other (I don't count Statik's as a valid attempt, mind, because if he actually were that active on AG, Random and Berria would have found him).

Personally, I don't advance people if they've only played one game unless they have clearly shown me that have tried their best to find their opponent. Simple reason: if they can't be arsed to find their opponent in the group phase, then they probably can't be arsed to find their opponent in the KO phase either.
So I wouldn't have proceeded Statik here, myself.
But I don't consider proceeding Statik to be a mistake, either, because there's a motivation behind advancing Statik. Just a matter of taste, I suppose. Just don't be surprised if Statik is a no-show in the KO ;)
