I recently rediscovered a game I used to play with my friends and particulary with my younger brother. I think the game was released in 1997 or 1998, so this must have been back in the late 90s. I had completely forgotten about the game. I'm sure there are plenty of you that have played this before, because it really has a lot of similarities to Worms :P It's not turn-based though! Here's a video:

I remember I'd use the laser every time, which is from what I can recall the strongest weapon in the game. If you haven't played this game before, get a friend over at your house and please give it a try! You can download it here: http://www.acid-play.com/download/liero

I don't know how popular this game used to be, and I'm curious -  is this a game well known to the community? :D

I loved that game! Online real time is a total mess tho, but 1v1s is very fun!

GreatProfe

Hussar

ya Liero owns... real time battle !

Free

Liero was massive in Finland and all my m8s played it.

Id suggest downloading "MoleZ" which is like Liero but with better graphics and better gameplay (imo).

liero was pretty cool, i never really liked soldat.  liero was fun for a little while but got old quick.  i ever remember playing a crude real time worms roping game that was probably the truest thing this community will ever have to real time worms.  forget the name though, this was probably 2000-2001'ish.

Dec 30 2013 23:59:49 <StepS> you need it to be actually bigger
Dec 31 2013 00:00:13 <StepS> it actually is very small on my 15-inch full HD screen
Dec 31 2013 00:00:25 <StepS> while running at 640x480 or stretched mode makes it fuzzy
Dec 31 2013 00:00:44 <StepS> this problem has been around since the Worms Armageddon's release and no one has even tried to beat it
