i been meaning to make this post for a while...

its really annoying when u get into a host and no1 wants to say their pick cuz they wanna see what the other guy/clan is going to pick.. lol... cuz like.. obviously if ur thinking to pick roper, but then they pick it... u will either wanna also pick it.. or then ur next strongest scheme....

but if they pick ur weakest... ur for sure going to go with ur strongest scheme next.. or whatever...

so i would suggest instead of the bullshit at the start of each game on deciding who wills say their pick first.. i think just a good idea would be to say higher overall rank player (singles) or clan ( clanners) will pick first at all times (if it comes down to the "whats ur pick?"  "i dunno, u pick first"   "nah.. u pick first.."   "well, my pick depends on ur pick"   "yah, my pick depends on urs too" lol and so on and so on :P

this seem like a good rule? or what.

Chicken23

i dont think a rule should be enforced. Just sad that some people are that.... lame..and into league style  :o ???

avirex

im surprised you say this chicken, i remember you complaining the most about this situation.. "you pick first"   "no u pick first" situation....

but yeah, maybe not a rule.. and hopefully 9times out of 10 it wont even come to it.. (personally i like to talk with the other clan, and see if we can agree on a set of games that everyone will enjoy.. rope + elite is a nice combo)

but when it turns silly onneither side not wanting to just pick suttin or agree, higher rank should just pick.. simple.

TheKomodo

I actually don't mind that, I think it's actually pretty fun sitting debating what schemes everyone wants, in the end it more or less DOES make everyone happy...

It's the people that sit there and try and rush you and hurry you up to make a decision that annoys me, I like sitting for up to 5 minutes sometimes chatting with other cfc members deciding who will play what so that we all get a say in what we do and we all get to play and have fun...

But then again, most of the time I pick BnG lol, but sometimes I take my time cuz I ain't in the mood for a BnG, but normally i'll say something like "What do you guys pick because if you pick roper we will probably pick BnG, but if you pick Elite or something we will pick rope" and then usually they make a quick decision...

However, I am not saying it should be a rule, but both teams should definately make their pick before the 1st game starts, I hate when people change their pick halfway through a game because of the outcome, the amount of times I have went onto MSN or AG halfway through a game, and pulled a clanmate out of something they were doing because the opponent have said they pick Rope for example at the start of a BnG, then towards the end, they say they change their mind, and I got to tell my clanmate they are being annoying now trying to change their pick...

I don't care how long someone takes to pick something, as long as both teams do it before the 1st game starts and that words final...

avirex

exactly.... if i pick roper, u pick bng...... but if i pick elite... u pick roper.......

so u have the upper hand...  thats why higher rank should have to pick first...  but oh well, i rly dont care... just thought it was a good idea, i guess not

TheKomodo

How does that give me the upper hand? You have the chance to win more points for starters (taking into consideration the current clans and standings) and we would eventually agree on 2 schemes, but if I said BnG 1st and you said elite, and then I said rope, and then you said ttrr, so I said what about roper and elite then you said what about elite and ttrr, there are only so many combinations we can go through until we agree lol...

Maciej

imo much lame is talking at start that you don't play rope ;x
why should we play elite or t17 if we are better in rope race??

Chicken23

i remember it happening vs cfc alot, but it was simple, we just picked elite after 15 mins of arguing, it is frustrating but i don't think its anything that can be enforce. Its just poor sportsmanship at times.

word and there were written rules in leagues enforcing this. pregame agreements. Technically if someone doesnt pick before we start my pick i could leave after 1 game and they couldnt do anything about it cus no pregame agreements! That would teach them a lesson for changing picks due to outcome of game.

DarkOne

imo, you should agree on your picks before the first game starts and not change during/after the first game. But that's just saying what other posters here are saying already too :)
I don't think we need any rules about who has to say their first pick.
If you can't get to an agreement about what scheme to pick, then perhaps you shouldn't play at all?

I don't see anything in the rules about which schemes you need to pick, so I don't see why you couldn't play 2 ropers or 2 elites oslt (except in the playoffs, of course) and I don't exactly know what you're trying to say with your example, avirex.
You mean elite is an advantage for them over timetrial? Why don't you pick timetrial then if you care that much about having the advantage?

TheKomodo

I think he means I have an upper hand at BnG, I could be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me, but D1, seriously, that is a rule? If other team doesn't pick before the 1st game starts you don't have to play 2nd? Is that what you meant?

DarkOne

Don't put words into my mouth and don't try to read between the lines, because there's nothing there to read.
I think I posted quite clearly.

avirex

i can cut the tension with a knife...

darkone, dont try to put words into my mouth, and do try to change my words... what i said is, if i pick a scheme that the other guy was GOING to pick... he then has the upper hand to pick his next strongest/favorite scheme... which could be my least strongest/favorite scheme...

so, i dont see what is to even discuss on this... its obvious who picks second gets the upper hand... but if you guys dont like the rule, thats fine.. cuz tbh.. i dont care i just thought it was a good idea for the community, it would solve many pre-game problems.

and chicken, trying to enforce the rule of "if they change pick i wont play second game" sound even lamer then my idea of a rule tbh sorry :(

blitzed

i agree games shud be said b4 so then u wont get ne1 picking say roper if they lose elite if they dont etc etc... like a safety game LoL! avi ye +1

edit: I can't say I haven't done this pick after b4, but its like everyone does it now so it's like the norm but it never used to be.

What I said is the consequence of what you said here :) If the other guy was going to pick roper and you were going to pick roper, what's wrong with playing 2 ropers?

Perhaps, but if clan A and clan B have an agreement on playing a roper and a RR beforehand (roper being clan A's pick) and clan B suddenly wants to change their pick after losing the roper, that means clan B is not holding themselves to their agreement. I think that's lame in itself.
If clan B all of a sudden wants to play BnG, I don't think clan A should be forced to play it, though of course, they shouldn't be prohibited to play it either.

But that's just my two cents for what it's worth.
