Actually Chicken is right on so many levels. I've reviewed many many games, either out of curiosity or because I had to because of dealing with TUS problems, let me tell you, many many times people lose a game not because of being less-skilled than their opponent, but only because they are so scared of their opponent "reputation" that they do many stupid mistakes they normally won't do.
There are certain people on this community that love to sit and praise a few people while they do nothing about their own skills. A good example is that you can always tell how good is someone in some scheme and count on it because they are not improving.
Thinking like the ultimate challenge is "Random vs Mablak", is not creative but so destructive to community's self-esteem. The reason ZiPpO could stand up to them, was because ZiPpO wanted to be like them, not wishing or sitting on his ass praising them. ZiPpO's self-esteem wasn't destroyed by this false idolization.
While players like Random00 or Mablak must be respected for their achievements, but idolization is something you wanna prevent from happening. When that happens, people start ignoring the idol's mistakes/fails and read too much into their success. Little examples:
Random00 got eliminated by Madden 3:1 on
season #13 playoffs. Why shouldn't Madden get a chance for such competition/title?
Mablak finishes 3rd on
TTRR: 80 dibz, 83 Dulek, 86 Mablak, 89 Crash.
So what exactly are you trying to feed here?
