Sounds like T17 is late to Battle Royale party and and they came there with wrong IP. Quite sad.

I've been a fan of the Worms franchise since Worms back on the Game Boy.

I am now, no longer a fan of the Worms franchise.

Well the franchise has already been bigger than the "standard" 2D and 3D games, don't forget about Pinball, Blast, and Golf, technically you could consider this a spinoff just like those other games.
But the problem is that they are promoting it as a direct continuation of the series (hence the "Worms 2020" codename).

They market this as having cross-play, but they're only releasing on select consoles. I'd bet money they will release it later on the other consoles (xbox etc), without cross-play. In typical Team 17 bait 'n switch fashion.

Battle royale games though... I'd rather drag my bare balls over a small planatoid of rusty razors, cacti, dip them in vinega while at the same time attempting to sit on the worlds biggest buttplug, then join ZaR, than play anything to do with a battle royale game

I realize i've been taking a lot of shots at ZaR recently, but hope you know I don't actually have any genuinely negative feelings towards ZaR, I think the blitzed thing was funny but now I think about it this one here feels like a cheap shot and not as witty as previous banter lol.

If this is the actual successor to the strategy titles (turn based) then Worms franchise is official dead. Worms Rumble makes Diablo 3 look like a decent successor to Diablo 2. xD
