I appreciate it
« on: March 17, 2012, 11:07 PM »
Been enjoying TUS since the day I joined. And after all this time, I still enjoy playing for the leagues and cups, the tournaments and challenges. And there's the forum and the shoutbox too  :) (not to mention the maps and schemes database).

I can't even imagine what WA would be like without a site like this. I'm pretty sure all the nice and good players would give up on it pretty soon. I know I would  :-[

MI, and all of you admins, you're doing a great job. Same goes for all of you TUS players. There's a few bad apples, agreed, but most of you still manage to uphold the values of sportsmanship and friendship in general. I'm positive that we can succeed in overcoming the damage done to our little community by cheaters, hackers, raging noobs or simple 'dumbs'.

It's a shame that 90% of the precious time of the admins is consumed by a small group of people who, after all this time, still don't seem to get it.
I wish they would take some time to reflect on their position in this community. Perhaps that would lead them to re-consider their contribution and urge them to approach the admins and fellow players of TUS with a more positive and forgiving mindset.

Let it be known that I do not take TUS for granted, and am thankful for it every day. And I'm sure this goes for a whole lot of people here. Our voices may not be as loud as that of others, but we're definitely here!

TUS will always be in my heart. Even the times I lost important games, I was always happy to be part of the competition. Especially at times I played my best against a totally awesome opponent. The result was sometimes negative, but I was always proud when I (and my opponent) managed to deliver a great spectacle. I guess that's the feeling great athletes get as well when they are part of a 'historic' match like a world cup final or a very close formula 1 grand prix.

You can win a match by yourself, but a great game requires two players.
Through TUS, I have had the honour to meet remarkable players and astonishing individuals. And together we made it happen :)

TUS rocks. Always!

Let it be heard!

:confused face:

Through your whole post I was expecting to hear "but, " xd

I guess this is exactly what the title says, I dunno what happened to call for extreme "love" action, but the post sums up my feelings about TUS as well, even though I'm one of the newer members.

I guess the point of the topic was "go go MI" :D

there was that whole Kor thing that got to me I guess  ::)

I but a lot  :D, but (!) not when it comes to TUS  ;)

Point wasn't so much go go MI. MI knows I love him  ;D. Point was more to give a little more attention to the people in TUS who mean well. The douchebags are constantly in the spotlight, certainly for the ones who have to clean up their mess all the time.. It could give a distorted view of the community as a whole, which as I said loves TUS and play by the rules, and play it well  ;)

I know there have been quite a few love-posts before this one hehe. I never really responded to one before (it was too conformist for me I guess (I should lay off this Goth-thing)). Newho, I guess I needed to let it out for once :).
Also that part 'bout the joy of gaming.

Thanks for the post HHC. I'm really flattered but in the KoR thread, I didn't mean the cliche "Why I'm not thanked enough". I simply meant why out of all the uses TUS should/could have, it is used to feed some aliasing desires in such a small community and that's not only about AlbtrauM but many other users who enjoy aliasing in this community.

I do believe too that nice people are more in our community, but over time they choose not to post for whatever reason. So the bad posts on the forum gets more attention and ruins the atmosphere even more while it should be the exact opposite. If enough nice people use forums more and more, bad posts would get choked before then get any attention but apparently our nice people are sissies! "I don't post in the same place ZiPpO posts!"

Seriously nice people should learn some confidence from bad people!
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

It's real nice to this see topic like this after all the unreasonable negativity I see from various topics. Many of HHC's comments were insightful and interesting, and there's no question MI is doing best as he can to make this site as good as possible. People need to understand many of the issue that admins have to deal with in which HHC points out explicitly in this topic. It's true that there are number of things that I don't like how MI handles this site, but it's impressive to see how much work contributions he put on this site without much help from others.
;D
The community is good as dead without you MI to be honest, and it's just that I wish there are more productive moderator and admin other than MI and DarkOne in this site. I should definitely say MI put strenuous amount of workload just to keep this site from not falling.

Anyways, MI surely least deserves much respect.

I warned you MI. But anyway, I guess you did well for a moment now (even if it's not the hardcore way I would use).

To be honest, franz and Rok have been much more active in moderating than I have for quite a while.

I've been mostly handling cups, but I don't have to do a single thing for the ones HHC hosts ;D

I just want to start by saying, phew, I thought this was another I quit worms thread and no way would it be cool if HHC quit...

Great post HHC, I feel the same way even though I lose my temper now and again and act like a jerk :)

^^ Sorry for that...

Hi HHC, why you not got green stars under your name?
MonkeyIsland, my friend, I know your english is terrible and your understanding of society limited. However, in real life, people attack and humiliate others without the use of a single bad word. They even go to war with lengthy politeness. You can't base the whole moderation philosophy of a community based on the use of bad words and your struggle with sarcasm and irony. My attack to Jonno was fully justified and of proper good taste.
