Not sure how this map was intended to be played. If you convert it to a colour map with no holes, you could use my Shotgun Race scheme with water rising disabled, start from the top and make it a race to dig down and drown.

Is this your map? It was imported from the BlameThePixel archive.
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

are there any replays with your shotgun race?

I believe this is a different scheme with the same name, made by a different person. This seems like the classic training mission, but as a multiplayer scheme. Many people had this idea or played this with other people. It would be a boring map to be played as a real race to plop, I believe.

I played Shotgun Race in real time only IIRC, so I think I don't have a replay. But, if I have one, it is not a great example to be published. Shotgun Race has an article on WKB: http://worms2d.info/Shotgun_Race

I plan to write about some other scheme Bloopy made, not sure if I'll be able to do it before the CWA podcast.

EDIT: ops, I was seeing the map quickly and small on my smartphone, I didn't realize it was a Mole Shopper-like map. So maybe Bloopy is right. I don't know. I thought the map was like a Holy War map, only with girders (no terrain). It is not that boring I was thinking. Imagine a race to plop on holy war map... That was what I was thinking lol. stupid me. And that's why I said about the training mission.

And by the way I found the replay I have of Shotgun Race, but I'll not publish it here.

I'm double posting after my edit on previous post just to show why I thought this. My smartphone was with minimum brightness and I was eating during the coffe-break of my job.

It's not my map. First time I saw this was when FoxHound added a link to it from WKB. Korydex, we could play my scheme and make a replay sometime. It's entertaining for battle racers I think. I just released another map for it. Bringing Shotgun Race back in 2024. :D

Which other schemes I made are worth writing about? Probably the only ones not mentioned on WKB are Bungee Fight (which was silly), and my attack-from-bungee scheme from 2001 which could just be a footnote in the section on Bungee Shopper (main difference is my scheme had no crates).

Oh, lol now I remember I found this map. So, it seems it needs to be in "similar ideas" section or something. It is probably a different scheme. With a different gameplay, but the idea is similar.

All your schemes are listed as a red link in Scheme ideas page. You forgot to mention Pixels that existed before Comet Dodging Race Wee and it was different from Speck Game.

Quote
You may have heard of the speck game, but this pixels game is different. Speck game is really just a fort with reasonable dots for landscape. I created this pixels game, basing it on the 'Space' level that came with Worms 1: Reinforcements. Every worm is placed randomly on a single pixel and they battle it from there!

They could be as a section on these pages you mentioned, but many of the sections of some scheme pages became one full page. Best example is Surf Shopper, but Snorkel became independant from Space Race, and I'm thinking to do the same with Banana Show, separate it from Banana Zone page, or FFW and Rope for Weapons that can be independant from Walk for Weapons article.

Note that Banana Show is literally almost the same scheme as Banana Zone, while Rope for Weapons is very different from WFW.

EDIT: And Bungee Fight is not silly. The idea is great, but the gameplay is hard and complex, it can be very frustrating, specially for beginners.  I never seen anything similar like Bungee Fight before, and this game is 25 years old now. I love the name of the scheme too.

EDIT 2: Regarding this "shotgun race" alternative map, I could make a "Map design" section like what I did in Paranoia article. Maybe the scheme file is the same, just the map is different and changes the gameplay significantly. Somehow like Tower Rope Race and Rope Race. They both use the same scheme file and same concept, but the gameplay is significantly different.

Bungee Fight is inspired by bungee race so it could be written as a variant of that. Racing to get your worms to the opposite side, just with stacking the worms to build somewhere to bungee from. Similar to how DIY Fort is a variant of Fort.

The Space map from Worms Reinforcements is credited to Philip Taylor and he recommended using gun weapons on it, so it's almost like the godfather of BnA. I found it funnier to use other weapons on the map, especially bazookas, grenades and the occasional homing missile. So I made a map where the pixels have similar spacing so I could play similarly on WA.

Along with my Bungee scheme, these are things that only ever had one map as far as I know, and I barely even hosted them online (if ever). Small footnotes in history. 8)

For this map, maybe we need to see if we can recover more info about it from BTP first.

I doubt there is any archive about this map on Blame The Pixel. I searched a lot of things in BTP's archive, predominantly all the preserved scheme pages (I know some of the schemes are lost, because I uploaded some schemes there that didn't receive any snapshot). Information about maps are very scarce, specially maps designed for underground schemes. So, I think we should write about the possibilities of this map, because I think the info about it is lost.

After these comments, now Bungee Fight has an article: https://worms2d.info/Bungee_Fight

And Shotgun Race article has now a screenshot.

BTP files were stored by ID from very early on, so doesn't that mean the title "ShotgunRaceOriginal" was retrieved from some database? It's surprising if there's no descriptions or anything else included in that database record. Is there any chance of even finding out what this map's ID was? I can see in the Wayback Machine that BTP files were all deleted in about 2006 and some at other times as well, meaning many IDs were reused for another file, so that could add more confusion. The BTP maps and their titles seem to be matching ok on TUS though, so I guess the map is designed for digging a tunnel with shotgun to attack other worms. Otherwise it's the worst mole shopper map ever made. :D

Ahh, now it makes sense, thanks! It adds one more piece of info: the map file is dated 29th December 2001 and predates my Shotgun Race scheme, so maybe the file was renamed to "Original" for that reason. Almost certainly never uploaded to BTP as an individual file. I'm writing about it on WKB now.
