Other worms games / Re: Team17 has announced Worms WMD

Why reduce the number of weapons?  WA is especially great because it has such an amazing variety of weapons.  That was one of its selling points; so many unique weapons to play with!  I think reducing the number of weapons available in the game is a misguided effort that actually has the opposite effect on marketing.  Even casual/new players would think that fewer unique weapons available is worse.
I once wrote up the idea, dunno if it was an addition to M3NTAL's old .txt about worm's classes, that a new Worms game would benefit from having weapons have an alternate shot. There's many weapons that could be turned into one this way. Zook/Mortar, Grenade/Cluster, Shotgun/One shot shotgun, Rope/Bungee, etc etc

That's a great idea!  Dynamite and gas canister would be another good pair.  The only problem is of ammo.  A grenade having the same number of shots as a cluster bomb is unusual, for example.

I don't see anyone say that your replay was a speed run.  I think everyone understood that it was just an entertaining superplay.  :)

Oh, I didn't know that was a difference.  I figured there was no problem since I wasn't planning on keeping a run in which I fully fell.  I didn't consider the end.  :)

Great run, Cueshark!  I actually ran this on 2011-01-09 myself independently just for fun and got 31.48s with no competition.  I'll submit that old replay for funzies.  :)

Such great roping, Nonentity and others!  Thanks for the map choice.  I'm sorry if it's not great.  I swear I have better ones!  :P  I'm glad you guys had fun nonetheless.  :)

Very nice, Ryan.  Now if only Dextah himself was around to see it and/or play it!

For the record, this map was made partially by b0y (aka SenecA) and partially by me.  Thanks for choosing it!  I had no idea it was used for this challenge before now.  Nice TAS, Deadcode.  :)

Wow, what a classic.  Stratohermius maps are still so incredibly good.

Yeah, I really like it.  I haven't come close to your time or Nonentity's yet, but I think with enough attempts, I could do it.  I had a failed run at 95 seconds right near the end, and that was with some early mistakes.

The way under on the right side is an intentional shortcut.  If you are skilled enough, you can attempt to use it to finish.  Thanks for selecting my map for a challenge!  I never knew until now.

Wow, nice runs.  I remember playing this map with JoE way back.  Also, when big maps first appeared, JoE blew this up to 16× size and we had some crazy laughs playing on the giant version.  I wonder why we did that.  :D
