Files Comments / Re: File #1017, WMDB-Downloader for Linux (sh)
« on: March 12, 2017, 11:26 AM »
FYI, WMDB sends an "Author_-_Name.png" filename in Content-Disposition, which you can use with e.g. wget --content-disposition.

Ugh - I must have been crazy even upload this crappy stuff.
Better, I'll make it better XD

And thanks for the info. =)
Does HostingBuddy use Website parsing, too - or does WMDB provide some kind of HosingBuddyDownloadService?

OK… it did last 3.5 month. Spacebar damaged – and I'm not that of a heavy player…
So I can't recommend Cougar200K at all.

I didn't open the link because I suspect it may be a virus or something.

virustotal.com sais not a virus… still you shouldn't open the link and ruin the fun for yourself  (IF it's really a cheat…) – troll/cheat fun ist just like 5% the fun that comes with skill ;D

EDIT: not saying that you are not skillful, still might be fun for some to cheat a while (but don't dare in tus matches ^^) – just my personal experience in general with cheats… i'm still angry, that i knew pepperoniepizza for AOE1 gave me food etc. - totaly ruined the fun for me, because even if I tried to not use them – when i was about to lose I used them anyway XD

EDIT2: Did make me so curious – tried it – didn't work…

-Holes on mole shopper maps hosted with HB do not seem to be randomized correctly. Without testing exhaustively I think they are always the same.

Isn't that the case if you host w/o hostingbuddy, too? I think it's a worms issue, not hostingbuddy…

…but no worries - i don't think manny people use wine to play w:a - and i i.e. get along w/o frontent resolution…

22
Might be very likely linked to using wine - I encounter an "Out of memory" Error, if I try to go to wormnet (not every time - but 6 out of 7…).

Yeeeeeeeeee! Got my Cougar 200Kb today. No more complaining about 2-key-rollover – from now on it's all 100% my fail (if i fail…)

So far i like it – the feel is even a bit too much in the mechanical direction (ye i know not realy, just don't know how to describe it…) for me - i like a latop keyboard feel ^^

Only downside so far: I can't map the light-Key to anything else and I don't need it for light...

Thing is, this is your personal preference. You may argue or not, but developer-wise, this is impossible due to retro-compatibility.

And for the guys that don't know, u can get W2 on GOG. Have fun there.

Well we're just dreaming… and there is /IR.
But I don't think it would be impossible to implement exact W2-compatibility - but work/payoff rate woudn't be very good - therefore unlikely ;)

Also GOG-W2 doesn't have online support… no buy for me (but I own the CD - so no need anyway).

[EDIT2]

Also tried to rename to DSOUND.dll
Code: [Select]
err:module:attach_process_dlls "DSOUND.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\WA\\WA.exe" failed, status c0000142

[EDIT… slower than StepS's Edit…]
I also tried as you described… set to native, place in game folder…
Code: [Select]
import_dll Library DSOUND.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\WA\\WA.exe") not found
[EDITs END]
Uff… I really missed the wine-FAQ-Point  ???

But no success.

I tried:
just setting dsound.dll to "native" in winecfg and placing WKDS-dll in WA-Folder - starting worms gives me
Code: [Select]
err:module:import_dll Library DSOUND.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\WA\\WA.exe") not found
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\WA\\WA.exe" failed, status c0000135
copying dsound.dll (WKDS) to system32
Code: [Select]
err:module:attach_process_dlls "DSOUND.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\WA\\WA.exe" failed, status c0000142
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\dsound.dll gave me
Code: [Select]
regsvr32: 'DllRegisterServer' not implemented in DLL 'c:\windows\system32\dsound.dll'
once, but now i only get
Code: [Select]
regsvr32: Failed to load DLL 'c:\windows\system32\dsound.dll'
…like it wouldn't even exist. I also tried an original Windows-XP-DLL in all those ways. Same effect…  :'(
 ;)
Any hint?

Ahoihoi!

I try to install W:A 3.6.31 (for playing px) via wine. Everthing finaly whent fine until… WormKit doesn't work.

I replaced the dsound.dll with the one provided by Kawoosh (see https://worms2d.info/WormKitDS), but nothing happens at all. No WKs loading…

Any1 got an idea?

However, I have failed to see a concrete post as to WHY the idea of Implementing Worms 2 rope onto Worms Armageddon. People are simply voting shallow without giving a good convoluted statement.
Worms 2 rope on WA would be good idea.

Well i think /ir is the closest you can get with W:A-physics-modification - guess for 100% same behaviour you'd have to implement whole worms2 physics…
