Announcements / Re: HostingBuddy and TUS got connected!
« on: November 07, 2015, 12:53 PM »
Because of the problem with HostingBuddy only accepting 'snooper' or 'normal' ranks, HB won't host when loged in via TUS-Secure-Login (see: https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/tech-support/%28solved-%28but-not-for-tus-login%29%29-hostingbuddy-ingnores-me-when-i-use-a-snooper-27648/).

CyberShaddow pointed out, that the snoopers need to be changed for this to work again.

But wouldn't it be more "HostingBuddy and TUS connected", if HB would simply accept all ranks? (or if not - maybe in the meantime, until snoopers are fixed?)

General discussion / Re: Update your WormNAT2!
« on: November 07, 2015, 12:44 PM »
hey I'm getting that error:
[attachment=1]
Same, just been ignoring it though because I can still host.  You having any problems hosting?

Snoopers mostly come with "build-in" WormsNAT2. So your local WKs aren't needed, when hosting via snooper.

Whuups - Hp is still wa.kai.dj... and it still sais
"Invalid url for group website. Leave it blank if it doesn't have any website." for
k.kai.dj

Thank you for registering our clan though ^^

Thank you!   :D

Ahoi!

I tried to register our new Clan 'Krokant Clan' - with the Clan-HP 'http://k.kai.dj' which is a valid URL.
But I get the message it isn't a valid URL…

General discussion / Re: is worms2d.info still a good reference?
« on: November 01, 2015, 04:17 PM »
Thank you for your opinon!

I'll go update some of worms2d.info =)

When somebody new in wormnet enters rule-requireing games - I like to send them "read worms2d.info" - (if I manage to type it before he gets kicked).

As some of the information on worms2d.info is outdated ("proPACK-rule", dead links, ...) and i.e. Tomi's Newbie guide book is present - I wonder if that is a good practice.

Also: I'd like to update some of the information on worms2d.info, but get the impression it is planned to let it die slowly.
Is that the case? Or should I update? Where to point new players (maybe shortlink for Newbie guide book)?

BTW: prosnooper - as I guess from username thescs at sourceforge - cybershaddow is the one, making a new version of prosnooper.
Guess I don't have to inform theCS then (ago I just looked into the about-section of an older version - no valid contact information...)

If someone knows other snoopers, and would like them to be updated - please inform the snooper's author.

Tomi (prosnooper).

Isn't he the author of Great Snooper?

Yes - sorry (and thx). Changed it...

Is it fixed when you use snooper secure-logging with TUS too?

No, but as CyberShaddow said - that has to be fixed on the snooper side.

You would need to consult with the snooper author probably, however all rank-related code (not just in HB) assumes that if your rank is not "Unknown" or "Snooper", you are not using a snooper (i.e. you're using W:A itself).

I wrote messages to dbanet (weatsnooper ) and Tomi (great snooper).
dbanet sais it will probably be fixed soon. But first, next release 2.9.3 is for new NAT2 only.
Tomi hasn't yet anwered.

Untill then I don't use the TUS-secure-login.

Please monitor private messages at TUS.
I will soon try to address your issues (including the questions you've just asked and the subject of your private message that followed this post).

Thank you!

Sorry it took a while… ^^

It's possible that it would be best if snoopers communicated third-party ranks via some other way than the WormNET rank field.

I will send/post a message to the authors of the snoopers I tested. Now that HB talks again - even with non-snooper ranks - noone has to be confused anymore ;)

Thank you for looking into this - worming with even more fun =)

btw: If you whant to look into this even further - HB still doesn't reply when I send him i.e. "hello" - he used to anwer, that he's only a bot ;)

I looked into this. It's caused by not using the "snooper" rank when using a snooper - this confuses HB. It will now send an appropriate error message.

To fix this, just set your snooper to use the "Snooper" rank.

Thank you!

But doesn't that mean, I won't be able to use HB, when logging in with TUS? Or is there an apropriate rank I can choose at TUS-settings?
...well not that I need TUS secure login...

Simple solution for now - log in normal. Everythings working fine again =)
I'm wondering, why I didn't come up with this myself (did experiment with ranks once ~2 month ago and HB send me that message back then...
