Leagues Games Comments / Game #228588, reported by Dario

Curious, why the person here you call a cheater didn't use transparent water? Certainly, if I used it, I would have seen that the water hadn't covered the girder.

Leagues Games Comments / Game #228585, reported by Albus

So was this game the reason you guys are calling me a cheater? I deleted my old team and used wkWormOrder to see my team sequence. Because of that, you guys think I get an unfair advantage over Dario?

The idea is a wish I've seen in many other players. Being able to play at your favorite resolution, and at the same time zoom in (or change resolution) when you need it during the game (see better some pixels etc.), would be awesome.

I use the windows magnifying glass (windows key + R), but the problem is that the windows magnifying glass (image below) doesn't work across all the corners of the game screen.

There is a program to assist streamers in counting the weapons used by players:

https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/worms-armageddon/display-weapons-on-intermediate-stream-32128/msg270469/#msg270469

Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wl87eu3wb2w1pia/What%27s%20Used.zip?dl=0

I would like to use this program to get rid of making notes in another places (paper, smartphone) and stick to the game.

To make it work, I would play the game in windowed mode and use a software to keep it "always on top".

The idea of a module that allows players to see the weapons used by the opponent is being discussed, but since I don't know if all my opponents will let me use something like this, I would like to have this option as an alternative.

I wanted to make a small change to this program, but I don't have enough knowledge to do so. I would like to reduce its size, to take up minimal space on the game screen. I would also like only the following weapons to appear (the ones I think it's most essential): rope, ws, jet pack, low gravity, dynamite, sheep, bat, parachute and bungee. I would like parachute and bungee to work the same way as the rope and the ws (it will help to use less space).

I drew a picture of how I would like the layout to look:

Anyone who has knowledge and can help, I will be very grateful. Also it can make life easier help another players who don't like to count enemy utilities in paper etc.

I managed, through the text file, to make some changes (change of size etc.), but I couldn't leave it exactly as I wanted.

Wormkit Modules / Private Module
« on: September 09, 2021, 09:57 AM »
A lot of discussion is going on around wkWormOrder and the idea of a module that would work as a weapon usage tracker. You can see the details at:

https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/worms-armageddon/wkwormorder-v-1-0-1-released-33536/

https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/worms-armageddon-promotion-project/(module-idea)-weapon-usage-tracker-33562/

WkWormOrder, already published, allows you to see the sequence of YOUR team. However, there are people who support the idea that this module also allows you to see the sequence of the enemy team, something that is generating greater controversy.

The other idea, would be a module to allow you to see what weapons the enemy used.

I do not want to go into the merits of the discussion here, as this is being discussed in these topics.

There is a possible reality in this scenario: since people are facing obstacles to play the game, publicly, in the way they find most pleasurable (which they don't think is wrong and would just make the game more enjoyable), we should consider the possibility of these people making private modules etc. If they do not have technical knowledge, they can also hiring someone to do it.

But the problem is that, even if someone does it, although I don't consider it cheating1 or that they will have a relevant advantage against me, I wouldn't want to play against someone who has access to things like that while I don't. As a competitive player, I think I would be entitled to know if anyone is using something like that.

So, what can people like me (who play competitively and don't want to be in that situation) do in this situation?

1 I don't consider cheating because the person just found out a way to access the same information in an even easier way than the existing ones (in the topics mentioned, several practical methods of getting the order of the enemy team and tracking the weapons usage were listed). That person would be having access to the same information that other people have access only with the difference of being something more practical.

A while ago I saw a player suggest the idea of fast forwarding the turn. In intermediate, for example, it's not uncommon to see players complaining about very long matches and multiple 45-second turns just to do something obvious or just do nothing. But, sometimes, waiting for SD is the only alternative for victory.

I found this idea interesting not only for intermediate, but for other schemes such as T17, elite etc.

In addition of making the game less boring for players and stream viewers, I think there is also the tactical aspect. In intermediate, for example, my strategy might be to use the 45 seconds to wait for the SD, but I already have in mind what to do in the next turns. However, the 45 seconds can be extra time for my opponent to think, something I would rather not give him, so I would use the fast forward option.

I don't know if it would be possible to implement this through a module. The trigger could be use "skip turn" for more than 2 seconds (to avoid accidentally fast forward) and accelerated time could be left as "extra time" in order to avoid the risk of fast foward too much and miss the turn.

Promotion Project / TUS section to report friendly matches
« on: September 03, 2021, 02:34 PM »
A few days ago I had this idea and I've already received some positive feedback from some players but I would like to hear from more people now.

The idea is as follows: to have a section on the site dedicated only to reporting friendly matches, and to keep a history of them, however, without these reports interfering with league statistics.

I'll list some positive points I thought:

1) the funner game, which had a remarkable victory, with beautiful moves or against a difficult player etc., could be registered for other people to see and not be forgotten;
2) it could be a more subtle and easier way to introduce those people who want to participate in the community in some way, but don't want to play league yet because they don't feel good or for another reason;
3) allow ALIAS report the game without breaking league rules, because it's only a friendly match.

I had an idea of a module that Nizikawa is disposed to make. And I would like to hear your opinion about it.

There are some schemes (vg, intermediate), where knowing the order of your own team is very important. Therefore, many players always play with the same team, to avoid having to memorize the sequence of new teams.

So, I imagined the idea of a module that, beside the name of the worms, appears the number that indicates their order in the team, which only you can see. Something like that:

Perhaps, this can have two benefits: it allows people to feel more free to create new teams without worrying about having to memorize new team orders, and makes it more difficult for those who write down the sequence of the opponents, since people can have multiple teams, and they can always be creating new teams.

Personally, I would like this idea, as I would like to have many teams, with many themes and ideas. But, in intermediate, the creation of new teams always brings the difficulty of having to memorize them again.

There's also an upside that I think streamers would like. Because I know my team's sequence, I (and maybe other players as well) could write the worms' names in English, in order to facilitate the understanding and pronunciation of the worms' names by the streamer commentators. I wouldn't mind, since I wouldn't need to stick to the name of the worms any longer to know the order of my team.

I've been thinking about a solution to find out who lost connection during a match. Is there a site that both players can connect to before a match, and the site monitors who has lost the connection, through some kind of connection history? That way, in case someone loses the connection and there is no third person on the game, both players will know, through this site, who lost the connection in the game.

Schemes / About intermediate scheme rules. Missing information?
« on: August 26, 2021, 08:06 PM »
Guys, I think the rule regarding the sequence of maps is missing on intermediate scheme page - https://www.tus-wa.com/schemes/scheme-10.

I'm going to copy the rule from the NNN website, which can be used as a reference here:

The following, is just a suggestion but, becomes an obligation if both players are not in agreement with the subject: Regarding the type of terrain to select in successive rounds, you should choose cave in case best of 1 game, island-island-cave-cave-(…) in case best of 3 game and cave-cave-island-island-(…) in case best of 5 game. The main idea is to play more or less the same number of caves as islands, because in this way skills of the players will be tested under a good variety of different terrains. Also in this way both wormers will get more or less the same amount of starting turns on an island and the final round (after 1-1, 2-2 results) will be played (except situations when you got draws in some rounds) on a cave to minimize "the first to move" advantage. - http://www.normalnonoobs.com/rules/en#rules

As discord is something so common and used these days for communication, I would like to suggest the option for people to include their discord in the forum profile. Thus, it would appear under the photo in forum posts, as an icon, as there is in relation to other types of contacts (MSN etc).

Schemes / What is your favorite scheme?
« on: August 18, 2021, 01:04 PM »
EDIT: the poll list with schemes names was getting too big and I had some problems after editing (some votes were changed). I chose to bring the options in categories. Below in the comments, you can specify which scheme you prefer.

Intermediate is my favorite scheme for three reasons: is a scheme that allows the player to demonstrate skills acquired in other schemes; depends more on strategy than luck; allows the player to use creativity, making cool moves etc.

Schemes / Team17 league scheme (official scheme suggestion)
« on: August 10, 2021, 07:40 PM »
I would like to suggest that this version of the T17 scheme also be accepted as the league's official scheme: https://www.tus-wa.com/schemes/scheme-3891/.

Mega-Adnan played incredibly well. But I would like to point out that I had my psychological very affected in this match because of Komito's (moderator) decisions in this cup. After winning 2x0 in the first Bo3 against Mega-Adnan, and after the game was reported, one person noticed that Komito, who hosted the match, put 7 worms instead of 8. Komito decided to cancel my win, without hear players opinions, and we had to play again. My psychological was affected by this, because I felt like I was playing a game I shouldn't be playing (I don't agree to repeat something because of someone else's mistake). Neither I nor Mega'Adnan were bothered by the fact that we played with 7 worms.

This Bo3 above was 1x0 for me when, in the 2st round, at 16:10, Mega'Adnan made an absurdly incredible move:

Having the feeling that I'm playing a game again that I shouldn't be playing and seeing my opponent so inspired that way (maybe he wouldn't be so inspired if he was in my position), really sabotaged my psychological.

Mega-Adnan is a great opponent and a very friendly person and he has to feel happy and proud of the beautiful moves he has made. Nothing will change the brilliance he had. But I considered that the decision of the moderators made the cup unfair to me and affected my perfomance. I would like to leave this record. I created this topic for debate that situation: https://www.tus-wa.com/forums/tus-discussion/tourneys-cups-reported-game-canceled-due-to-scheme-problem-noticed-later-33426/.

I'm going to talk about a fact that happened to me at the inter80 cup (https://www.tus-wa.com/cups/cup-1123/?start=0#top).

My first cup game was against Mega'Adnan. Were present inside the match: Komito (he was the host and transmitted the game on twitch) and VoK (spectator inside the game). I won this game by 2x0. Some time after the game was reported, on the same day, that happened:

As the print shows, everything was decided unilaterally and very quickly. At the moment, I didn't question the moderator's decision and me and Mega’Adnan played the game again. In that second moment I lost by 2x1.

However, after reflecting better on what happened, and talking to some friends, I came to the conclusion that the decision was disproportionate, and that it was not fair because, due to the frustration it caused me (for a mistake I did not cause and that nobody noticed, including the moderators Komito and Dario - https://imgur.com/a/LPte7aS), my performance was impaired for the second match. In this sense, I would like to post here ZorroX's comment:

If I am allowed, I just want to shed some light on 3 things.

1. You always put all your heart into the 1st match. Upon hearing that it's been all in vain, you will never play the 2nd round as good. Moreover, the person whose loss was spared instantly gains an immense boost in morale (just like Uruguay that won against Ghana in penalty shootout in 2010 after Ghana's goal was stopped by hands). So the argument that Adnan did "some great moves there" isn't fair in my opinion.

One example is drawing. I used to draw a lot. I would spend 10 hours of one bigger project. I would just be utterly demotivated to do the same as good again if it was destroyed. We all lost an essay that we spent a night on, you know this feeling.

2. One person said that Albus "agreed" to play rematch so he should be fine with it. Please show me a football player who was informed that his successful penalty was invalid, he must repeat is, and the footballer refused to do so... Nobody will refuse in a heat of a moment.

3. Komito, my friend, everybody knows you are a fantastic mod and that you have good intentions. No authority is needed here. You already earned everybody's respect. Winning is not accidental. The one who is better will win if you let them fight on a separate day, 4 days from now so that they can appear there both given 2nd chance for their morale to be the same. I think you know what's a right to do. I have damaged the good spirit of my own 2vs2 cup by my mistake, so I don't want the same to happen to this cup.

Heads up. We are all human beings. All good

The opinion of the moderators must be respected (as long as it is not a complete absurdity). What I didn't agree with was how the decision was made (unilaterally and very quickly). In my opinion, any decision that affects the player, that may frustrate him and that has the potential to divide opinions, must be preceded by the manifestation of the players (especially those affected by the decision). Mega'Adnan, for example, didn't bother with what happened:

My opinion, which was not asked before, and the solution for such cases would be as follows:

1) in case of a error in the scheme caused by the player, which no one notice during the entire game, it cannot be canceled at his request. The purpose of this is to avoid intentional changes that can go unnoticed, with the aim of canceling the game later if he loses.

2) in case the host was a third person and he is responsible for the error, as happened to me in this case, two solutions would be interesting:

2.1) both players would have to accept the consequences, as they both accepted that person as their host. This solution can be interesting to avoid the following scenario: the host, being a friend of one of the players, selects the scheme with a specific error, which can go unnoticed, and later a third person asks to cancel the game if the host's friend loses the game.

2.2) the willingness of the players involved, whether they want to keep the game or not, is questioned.

So here are my final considerations:

I apologize if the debate I created over the days appeared that I didn't respect your decision. However, I do suggest that any decision, without exception, which has the potential to generate diverse opinions, and which negatively affects a player, be given the opportunity for the parties to express themselves prior to the decision. This prevents future problems.
