Quote- Ranks are decided by substracting the turn time from the amount of points. Greater sums rank higher.

It doesn't make sense to me. Turn time in seconds? Amount of points will always be less than turn time, score will be negative ???
We can't substract in different measurement  ???

I agree, units should have been specified. But looking at the scores of submissions so far, it looks like turn time in seconds. This would make the unit-safe formula: Score = (shotguns left) * (2 points / shotgun) - (Turn time used) * (1 point / second)

_ssm_ your replay had problems, I couldn't see what actually had happened.

His 77-point replay should be undeleted. There's nothing wrong with it. There is an emulation bug that was introduced in v3.7.0.0 — I fixed a bug without realizing it, and as a result the bug is not emulated. His replay was created with v3.6.31.0 and exhibits the bug at 3:49.00 - 3.49.06. The message "2-1 has slipped off the hook" is pre-empted by the message "! went in the drink" because that message starts with the character "!", which in versions earlier than v3.7.0.0 forced a game comment to be displayed instantly instead of being queued. The "!" is trimmed, making the message " went in the drink" instead. But in v3.7.0.0, this bug is not emulated, and as a result the message "! went in the drink" is shown later, pushing all the subsequent comments 0.88 seconds forward in time, and pushing the start of the next turn forward 0.88 seconds, resulting a desynchronization.

This bug will be properly emulated in the next release. In the meantime it can be properly played back using v3.6.31.0.

Tech Support / Re: PacMani's Bug Reports

Quote from: PacMani on October 13, 2013, 02:15 PMIn-Game: Supersheep flies slowly at top most area
This buggy effect is hard to notice, you can only really see it if you remove the camera limitations, but it's there.
At the top most pixels (e.g. the sheep is at the highest position possible before it doesn't move more upwards anymore) minus the height of the displayed water, the super sheep flies as slow as if it is underwater, but sound effects and trail are still the same as if it is flying in air.

Could you please post a replay? I can't reproduce this at all.

Here's my annotated tool-assisted replay.
2013-02-26 12.27.50 {TA} 2013-02-26 09.16.42 [TCB Challenge 69 - 20.74 sec] 0xDEADC0DE {annotated 2013-05-22 23.24.24}.WAgame

There's lots of annotations, so I recommend, after watching it normally (i.e., just watching it at normal speed, with the chat closed), going back and pausing playback to read the annotations one "paragraph" at a time.

Here's my TA replay of this challenge. I did the first 8 seconds six years ago, and finished it today.

2013-03-27 06.16.30 [TA] 2006-12-14 22.14.32 [Challenge 3 - 24.72 sec] 0xDEADC0DE, Deadercode.WAgame

I've upgraded the game and now I'm no longer able to host with wormnat2 via the WA.exe (a host appears on the wormnet but I have a 'timeout hosting the game'). The chance of successful host is like 1 of 10. The same issue I had with the 3.7.0.0 version and never with the 3.6.31.
Is there any solution for it except hosting via wheat snooper that I don't use.
Enable "Load WormKit modules" in Advanced Options.

Awesome run, Statik!

Very amazing. With tool assisted you can create a processor controlled game which is as good as possible (=perfect)? 8)
Thanks!

And it's not processor-controlled. I have to do everything manually, it's just that I step through frame by frame, and I can go "back in time" as many times as I want to make improvements. Also the trajectory the worm would fly in if I let go of the bungee is plotted ahead, so it's much less often that I have to try the fly, see where it goes, and go back in time if it didn't work as desired.

Also, the 50.38 second run I posted earlier is not perfect. It's definitely not possible to do it in fewer than 2 turns, but it's possible to do it in less time. I just did:
2013-03-22 22.57.41 {TA} 2013-03-22 18.21.15 [TCB Challenge 32 - 2 turns, 45.86 sec] 0xDEADC0DE.WAgame
This TA run does every fly faster than the previous one, saving 1.54 seconds in the first turn and 0.14 seconds in the second turn, and saving an additional 2.84 seconds in the second turn by dropping the Dynamite at the beginning of the bungee instead of the end.

did you have fast walk ? seems like you could jump on several place and win some time ! Me hax dc best time xD
I was doing flipwalking with Fast Walk enabled. This is 1.196 times as fast as regular walking with Fast Walk enabled, and faster than any kind of jumping (even down a steep slope) that doesn't use the Parachute.

Talking to Ramone now, I can see there was a misunderstanding earlier!

When he said this:

I cannot accept your records anymore I guess.. and it's a shame..
he was only talking about this challenge, Pirate Walk Race, not future challenges.

l'm confused now. I thought Ramone is joking with that post. Wasn't he? :o
It sure didn't look like a joke to me, MonkeyIsland. If it was a joke, then he has a pretty unusual sense of humor.

Quote from: franz on March 20, 2013, 08:12 PM
I'm pretty sure Ramone means he won't accept any more of his future replays while the challenge is still active, since he's already had a little 'sneak peak', ruining the spirit of the no look challenge.
Just to clear some stuff up:

1) I won't repeat the mistake of submitting to an active challenge after downloading its hidden replays. It's not the first time I've had to learn a lesson the hard way.
2) Ramone doesn't even need to take my word on that. Yes, each user has an option "Don't show me in download lists" (which I didn't know about before), but I'm not going to enable it. If I correctly understand the way the board works, then replays that I've downloaded will show forever that I've downloaded them, and enabling "Don't show me in download lists" will cause every replay I've downloaded to no longer show that I've downloaded it. So anyone can know if I've enabled this, because a replay you know I've downloaded would no longer show that I've downloaded it. So basically, he only has to trust MonkeyIsland.
3) The "downloaded by" info has timestamps. So you can tell if I've downloaded before or after submitting.
4) Yes it would be extra work for Ramone to have to check all that info. But he doesn't actually have to do all that; he can just choose to trust me. I won't know whether he's checking it or not (or for that matter if anybody else is), so I have to assume somebody is checking it, even if nobody is.

Well, I hope you change your mind.

I'm going to re-submit the four replays that I deleted, so that you can at least watch them and decide for yourself what to do with them.

Edit: Ramone saw the replays, so I've deleted them again.

Why Deadcode can download replays from this challenge?

MonkeyIsland granted me global moderator powers recently. I did my 234.26s run of this map before I downloaded any of the submitted runs, but then curiosity overwhelmed me and I wanted to see how you got such a fast time.

I really like this map, and love battleracing, so I wanted to see if I could beat your time. FWIW, I put a lot of effort into this, used mostly different moves than you did, and had to practice them thoroughly before I was able to use them in a mostly mistake-free run. At the time I thought it was fair to submit my runs, even though I did them after seeing your replay. But now I can see that was just my competitive spirit clouding my judgment. So I've gone ahead and deleted the replays I submitted after downloading yours. I guess I'll just submit them again after the challenge expires.

Amazing run, BTW. It took me 168 attempts to get 205.32s... I wonder how many it took you to get 189.14s.

Windows 7 also has a tool which is applied to folders by the name "Restore Previous Versions". So maybe try right-clicking on Worms Armageddon's folder, and use this tool? You could get your User folder back out of an older point of restoration.

Wow worked, thanks a lot mate!  :D ;D :D

I'm very glad to hear this worked! But that still doesn't explain how it got deleted in the first place ???

That's probably because he didn't drag WormNAT2's files into his WA folder.
But why would he have a different WA folder? The installer defaults to installing into the folder WA is already installed into, and WormNAT2 would already be there, if he was using it before.

However, if he uses WormNAT2, he should make sure WormKit module loading is enabled in the Advanced Options menu.
Actually I was talking about Wolfgang's issue, my bad though, should've been more specific. :)
I was also talking about Wolfgang's issue.
