I have been smited for 79 times. You Desetroyah 4 times.

However maybe a log like who has been applauded or smited could be fun or showing separate applauds and smites instead of summing them up.

1) all 4 have been in the last 24hours though ;P

2)I agree with this suggestion, I admitted earlier that I was doubting my own initial suggestion cause I could see how it would actually be less balanced than the current system, so i think yours is a decent compromise :)

Not a bad idea, a person who is generally close to 50-50 (smite-applaud) would have generally been equally sensible (or not, but its still fine!) to most ppl. Whereas someone who's consistently "smiting" would stand out

EDIT: i admit I nearly feel bad for seemingly taking this so seriously but I just think it would be a change for the better of our living space that is TUS :D

+1 Prankster

I've seen my karma decline steadily since yesterday because I said my opinion. Is that cool?

I said nothing to offend anyone and my falling karma (as I said before) proves my point 100%!

Ppl just "smite" because you said something they didnt agree with, let alone affect them.It was meant to be a conversation and what some of you said would happen if my suggestion were to happen ( "flaming" ) is happening now "quietly" on my karma!

The easiest thing is to press a button and know you're safe from anyone knowing you did it, whereas with names, no one would really dare "smite" and not justify unless they wanted to be assholes AND wanted everyone to know!

I just despise cowardness, thats all..

Lemme remind you Rok that sensible ppl (like you and many here) will use any system sensibly, my point is for the ppl who wouldnt and dont.  I'm not trying to fight with anyone here (just so that everyone knows :P)

I'm not in favour of removing the whole karma system. I think for some it can be a healthy reality check.

I didnt say to remove the whole thing
but you say a few minuses by teenagers can have a positive effect on anyone online?
Or, if you are an angsty teenager, you think you'll "behave better" with a few minuses? I'm not sure about that...

DarkOne:  I see your point but I think you're mostly thinking about the effect of feedback on sensible people, who would be sensible anyways. On the other hand, yes, I do believe people care about not looking like assholes. Sometimes we all are and hopefully we'll apologise or admit when we have been, but I dont think anyone wants this "bad reputation" thing hanging over their head.

To be honest, I'm starting to doubt my own suggestion but I'm breakin my head to come up with a better one and I cant...I have failed my post :(
#818
I dont think you understood my posts well though. You must imagine that when everyone knows their name would show if they smited without a good enough reason, do you think they would press that button? No they wouldnt, because then they themselves would look like assholes.

My point is, its unfair and it would stop a lot of angst and/or "revenge" smites like ones mentioned by Maciej.

Also, notice how without saying anything bad about anyone I've received god-knows-how-many smites simply because I had the nerve to say an opinion that affects no one personally... I think this makes my point...
#819
Thats what is not understood man, I believe that this way ppl will be incredibly declined to smite at all, rather, they will just write their reasons for disagreeing.

EDIT: haha, 3 smites and counting :) This is what happens when u say an idea, thanks for making my point guys :P

I kinda like it the way it is. People tend to get upset when they are smited.. it's gonna be a whole different argument when you know who's behind it (and not in a positive way)  :-[

Do you think the same amount of ppl will "smite" then? I doubt it. Like I said, ppl will try justify their actions and make them responsible for them. I believe its a more "social", or definetely, a more honest and open way of dealing with things.

Hey all,

I'm one of the relatively new ppl here and I could be wrong but I havent seen this issue being raised anywhere so I'm going to throw an idea.

We're all familiar with the whole applaud/smite function. It is a good way for ppl to easily recognise who's been generally sensible (being generally liked or "liked" for one post doesnt make you sensible but moving on) and who's not.

However, most ppl online are cowardly enough to simply smite something because someone wrote something different than what they did and thats when the issues begin.

In my opinion lifting the anonymity factor out of this suddently will make everyone responsible for what they vote "for" or "against" and that way:

-they will think twice before voting either way
-their opinion will matter
-they can show their support, disapproval without necessarily writing whole essays or even write anything at all, hence decreasing the amount of clutter in the forums.

{  I am aware that in order for this to happen a bit of work will be required from MI so even though this suggestion is unlikely to be wildly accepted and perhaps materialise I would like to show my appreciation for his work anyways. Gj man :)  }

It'll be essentially like the Facebook "like" system, i.e. if there are too many "smites" or "applauds" most of the names could be revealed in a small pop-up or something (just a suggestion)

So what do you think?
#822
Well, I dont think there's much we can do, everyone will say their opinion, and thats fine, but if we take into consideration that most ppl in WA are either children or behave like children, then its simply a given that they'll behave like the self-righteous pricks that typing shit one thousand miles away from the other person allows them to do...

The internet generation isnt all that great, we can all agree on that probably.

On that note, I believe that anonymous applauds/smites are exactly the kinda thing weak and cowardly ppl use. I propose its made signed, like Facebook sort of. so that no one can just smite you and hide behind it, and at the same time applauding will make sense since ppl will show support without having to typing whole messages all the time if their opinion was expressed.

I'll copy this to suggestions.

Amen to this, it's like the holy grail has been dishonored and you can't rest until someone has paid for it. He cheated got caught, his reputation is ruined (something that matters a lot in a small community) but still you can't go on? Try to relax, it's not the end of W:A.

Nah, his reputation isn't ruined mate, he's young, he made a mistake, if all these idiots would bring their f@#!ing noses to the same level as the rest of us they'd realise at least SnipeR isn't an arsehole, he realises he made mistake, apologised immediately, let's all act our age and help him out huh?
SnipeR, I still respect you, who gives a f@#! about RR anyway :P (joke)

+1 for that Komito, "reputation ruined"...really?

I thought they were great (apart from that 10s one...that map pissed me off so much XD)  and the fact that they bring more ppl to compete and hf is the biggest bonus :D

I will be offline pretty much all summer and I think this will do me good to start the new season fresh and get into worms renewed :)
