Quote from: h3oCharles on December 09, 2024, 01:50 PM* Points for Weapons - I'm not sure if its happening in WA @.@
Surely not. It would be amazing if we could play this in WA. Although in WWP almost nobody played this online, it is a bit complicated.

Quote from: h3oCharles on December 09, 2024, 01:50 PM* Super Rope mode - can be activated with 3.8 stuff / extended scheme options
No, that feature mimics Worms 2 rope and not WWP rope. WWP rope is way more newbie friendly, completely OP. very looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong rope.

Quote from: h3oCharles on December 09, 2024, 01:50 PM* Slippy mode - doable with 3.8 stuff / extended scheme options
* Sticky mode - doable with 3.8 stuff / extended scheme options
I'm not sure if these features work the same using RubberWorm/ESO feature. If they do work the same (what is very possible), I'd like to know the exact values of the Wormpots to reproduce well in WA.

Quote from: h3oCharles on December 09, 2024, 01:50 PM* Fort mode - can be emulated with house rules https://worms2d.info/Fort
In WWP the team file has its own fort. This is interesting, but not really necessary I think. Some forts were OP and other forts were very low tier. So usually players would pick the same 3-4 forts to play (like we see with Special Weapons).

Quote from: h3oCharles on December 09, 2024, 01:50 PM* No weapons, crates only - can be activated with 3.8 stuff / extended scheme options
* Crates, crates and even more crates - can be activated with 3.8 stuff / extended scheme options

In WWP, the crate shower of these wormpots were exactly like getting a crate shower from utility crate in WA, but since the very beginning of the match. You could pick Skip Go and Surrender in crates. In RubberWorm's crate shower it has some parachuting crates that take long to fall on the terrain, sometimes you have to wait the screen following the parachuting crate to play. The good part is that you can remove skip go and surrender from crates, selecting the probabilities you desire (this is good). In WWP crates spawn quicker, it's more dynamic and natural, but you cannot modify the probabilities and you can't modify the max of 5 crates on the map.

I feel that playing Only Crates in WA is not the same thing, really. I prefer in WWP.

Quote from: ValDorado on December 09, 2024, 10:41 AMThe game even has a small Wikipedia, but Worms Armeddon knowlege has more information.

Technically, Wormopaedia is not a wiki. It is a digital encyclopedia, and yes, it's small. Worms Knowledge Base on the other hand is a wiki and yes it's more info not only in numbers of pages, characters and bytes, but also because Wormopaedia is included as a web version, using the same server of the wiki.

Even when WWP was very active, few wormpots were actually used, and some of the wormpots are already available in WA. The others that are not yet may one day be included. There are few wormpots that I really miss in WA. And by the way, the system of WA to have features in the scheme is way better than wormpots system.

Anyway, I think nobody answered the question made, I think he wants to play WWP despite knowing that WA is infinitely better at this point.

Off Topic / Re: Material Things
December 08, 2024, 06:56 PM
I voted no, but I almost voted yes.

Yes because I do like my stuff, for example some clothes or even my temporary lighter. I want to buy a new car for myself someday, a new computer, a new smartphone, a microscope, a new house, etc. I care about these things, and I have emotional feelings with some of the stuff I have.

However, if for some reason a disaster happens in my life, for example, the flood that recently happened in good part of the state Rio Grande do Sul this year: I would accept that I lost a lot of stuff I worked hard for and that I feel emotional bonds for them that now are lost. Life is more important and material things can be acquired again. What matters is family, friends, and health. Material things are important to have quality of life. The basic stuff like a refrigerator, or a shower. The rest is just confort and luxury. WA is luxury.

I would prefer to live in a society that the public and collective transport system works well and is free. I would prefer to live in a society that there are no private properties, only public stuff of decent quality. Only some individual particular things maybe could be temporarily "private", like an area that you can say: hey this is MY bedroom, this is my territory, I need my privacy, because I am a living being and I need my own sanity.

Off Topic / Re: Do you look and act your age?
December 08, 2024, 05:23 PM
99% of the people think I am younger just by looking at me. Usually they say I have around 25 years, but I have 33. So I usually try to show indirectly to someone I am talking for the first time that I'm not as young as they think. Usually some people begin to treat me as if I was a very young adult, almost a teenager if I don't express myself enough. I don't shave my beard completely, because I think people would think I am a teenager.

About acting as a young person, well... I use some clothes that are more related to a young person, but I usually mix them with clothing of more mature people. I think in the end I look more younger than older. I like to go out and go to the streets at night, go to clubs, so I definitely have behavior of young people, I talk using some slangs and other things that look younger too. I started to work very late, only few years ago, so I am definitely less mature than I should for some things, like cleaning my own house, cooking, these stuff I am a completely noob.

For other things I am mature. For example, driving on a roadtrip, I try to drive safe as I am responsible for other people's lives. Saving money is also something I know how to do. I don't waste money. I have self control on drug usage. I work seriously and I am compromised with my job and what I do or what I say. I usually try to be educated with people, etc.

I have several friends that are younger than me and several friends that are older than me. I had relationships with people that are younger than me and people that are older than me. I have a good relation with all ages I think.

So, for some things I am "old" other things I am "young", but I guess I act more as a young person than an old person. I think my spirit is younger.

TUS Discussion / Re: More map categories
December 04, 2024, 02:10 PM
The category I miss the most is actually the Conventional gameplay one. Today all the conventional gameplay maps are among the maps in Miscelaneous category. If you want to download conventional gameplay style maps, you'll have to search a lot through many PNG maps that doesn't look like a randomly-generated map (and the same for the opposite).

And maybe Conventional gameplay is too generic, maybe we could have a category for Elite (maps that are usally different from Intermediate - very complex open islands), a category for Hysteria/Aerial (Open Islands), a category for old Team17 maps (dual-layered caverns), etc. We have already a category for Roper and recently Quickdraw, so why not create categories for these schemes or maybe by map editor map type.

Not to say those already mentioned other schemes. For example, we have a lot of maps for Grenade Wars now and a lot of maps for Time-trial Big Rope Race (or Big Time-trial Rope Race). They could receive a category too.

Quote from: TheKomodo on December 03, 2024, 11:36 AMHey, that's pretty neat, could you share a few of your favourite passages that have anything to do with this thread please?

Well, I'm still reading it, so I'm still trying to understand everything that she has to say in this book. I'm not sure if she is right, but what she says makes sense and is based on heavy scientific evidence.

Basically she says that after antibiotics, vaccines, antiseptics, hygiene in hospitals, and sanitation, most of the most scary diseases were gone after the end of XX century. Now in XXI century the diseases are different, they are not so scary, but they are growing and spreading more and more. Some diseases that were rare are common now, some diseases that we usually think that has to do with genetics, behavior and cultural aspects, she supports that they actually spread like epidemic. And all of these diseases of XXI century has to do with our microbiota, specifically the intestinal biota, that is more than 90% of our germs. We are 10% human because we have more germs in our intestine than human cells.

So, she believes that Obesity is a desease that is epidemic and it has a lot to do with the bacteria that we have in our intestine. The same for Autism, ADHD, allergy, autoimmune diseases, and many other things. Our diet and the antibiotics affect our germs. Some of our germs are good others are bad for us. What we eat, the people we kiss or share food and stuff affect our lifes. Our germs affect our behavior, including who we feel attracted to.

Still a lot to read, it's very crazy to think on this perspective, not sure if the world is exactly the way she tries to say, but it has a good logic and is based on a lot of references. True or not, it's very interesting and you learn a lot about the history of Medicine and germs in general.

I agree with what Komo wrote about living collectively. I also liked Bloopy's thoughts.

I wrote this post due to this part of Komo's text, though:
Quote from: TheKomodo on December 02, 2024, 12:49 PMwe need all the lifeforms inside us to help us survive

Curiously at this moment I'm reading a book (~45% of it) about this subject. Its name is 10% Human by Alanna Collen. Very interesting read.

Bug Report / Re: Schemes with bug again.
November 30, 2024, 07:08 PM
The original scheme is the bugged one, because the author created it via TUS scheme editor, and downloaded it from there. He didn't even know that the game could create and save schemes with advanced settings too.

If you meant the fixed version of the scheme, the author made a fix using WA, but he didn't send me the file. I fixed the scheme based on the TUS scheme page displayed  settings. I fixed it using two different methods:

1) Loading the scheme downloaded from TUS in WA and then, on Extended Scheme Options, clicking on every setting that was modifyied to go back to the standards, then adding the two ESO features of the scheme and saving it.
2) Opening the scheme file downloaded from TUS with SchemeEddy, saving it without changing anything and then loading the scheme in WA, adding the two ESO features of it and Saving again.

I'll send both fixed scheme files (each with a specific method), but they should be the same scheme file (the same settings in both files).

Bug Report / Schemes with bug again.
November 30, 2024, 01:57 PM
It seems that some TUS schemes are with bugs again. The player LeoAvah was having issues trying to play his own scheme (ASNO DURO) created and downloaded via TUS. I downloaded the scheme and tried to play in game via Local Area Network (LAN). When I loaded the scheme, the game informed that the scheme has different super weapons probabilities, so the game would run the game as an old rubberworm version scheme. Playing the scheme it has completely weird physics. If you check the Extended Scheme Options, many are altered. If you check the scheme settings, there is not any alteration in super weapons probabilities, so RubberWorm physics shouldn't be activated. Very weird. If you open the scheme downloaded from TUS using SchemeEddy program and save (without any edit on the settings), it will work perfectly, without rubberworm weird physics. According to LeoAvah (I credit him for noticing the bug), there are more schemes that he had this issue downloading from TUS. He doesn't remember exactly which of them. Maybe his own schemes? I don't know. I wonder if this bug is caused by creating the scheme using TUS editor or if you create a scheme using the game or SchemeEddy and upload to TUS this bug may occur too.

Sitting nades disappearing as a scheme feature. When?
#41
The first video seems a new scheme that I never heard of called jackpot. The gameplay however is very similar to plinko and maybe Pachinko too. This one uses rope + drill, though. And maybe there are other minor differences in the score system.

The second video is a feature available in PX and wkJellyWorm. I used this feature for the PX version of Snooker I was working with DBC at the time, but we never concluded that PX version. Very important feature for Snooker and probably good for other schemes.

The third seems a cool mission. Was it played via wkTerrainSync?

Schemes / Re: Roper - Max One Crate Only
November 29, 2024, 01:11 AM
1 crate is better.
#43
It was the best Terrain ever made: the Semen Terrain. Unfortunately it is not available to download and nobody I played using wkTerrainSync had it installed so that I could automatically adquire that masterpiece.

IMO Girder Radious Assist is quality of life (it could be enabled). And 13 px water rising is my favorite flood for almost all schemes (good job adding this). I will add FMA's mole one day to the wiki. Surely one of the best variations of mole Shopper.
