I think that might work

Quote from: King-Gizzard on September 02, 2024, 08:28 AMhaha that video is class! I think the kid screaming would work tbh :)  Is ARTemych on this site or Discord?

It would be funny and it would have a worm history element. The kid screaming afraid of invasions, either Jason Statham or Aliens.

Well SiD contacted with him to get the Egypt terrain working, I think. He has this active YouTube channel and I think I've seen him commenting in Discord once, not sure. Worth trying. Maybe WMDB profile too?

Consider adding a cockroach. I think it would fit well on this terrain.

I enjoyed a lot more spectating BnG with a live conversation of 3 people. A lot of WA vibe playing and talking like this.

I wouldn't give any feedback, because that's so amazing that it's perfect to me. However, if you did ask for a feedback... Well then I will make small ones.

I'm neither an alien movies guy, nor terror/horror fellow. So my suggestions will be regarding Urban life included in the terrain.

It could receive the House Sparrow object since this a very cosmopolitan species just like the Feral Pigeon you have in your terrain.

Another great one to include is the Barn Owl, very cosmopolitan too (very urban, but nocturnal).

Other cosmopolitan birds that could be included:

Osprey (not sure if it's urban, though) and Peregrine Falcon (enjoys skyscrapers).

Edit: now a joke suggestion. What about adding a human object to the terrain? Maybe asking for ARTemych's images about this weird stupid player Jason Statham found on WormNET:

Edit 2: what about Cockroach? Fly? Ant? Silverfish? House Dust Mite, Daddy Long-Leg Spider, etc.

I agree with you in number 1. It could be at least a scheme option, but I think it could be implemented completely in game, because this affects gameplay a lot. Bad experience to all.

Number 5: there is already a scheme option for this since rubberworm in 2008 and 2020 in WA v3.8.

Number 3: Is funny the way it is, but it could be a scheme option.

Number 6: yes it is random, but there should be an option to don't be random.

Number 7: there is a feature of a program made by CyberShadow that can do this. Some people use even today. Some people consider cheating, so it's not allowed in competitions. I totally agree with you, this should be like pressing delete or the button to change background. At least as a scheme option.

Number 4: it is annoying, yes, but people can get used to it. It could be a scheme option too.

Number 2: this will not happen if you never stop walking. If you stop by a fraction of a second, this will happen. So, it's all about being a pro and don't stop moving until you pass the second mine.

The music and the image are amazing!

Looks like Metal Slug scenarios. Beautiful, but not ideal island for gameplay. I may try to do an AI map one day. Good idea.

Quote from: TheWalrus on August 14, 2024, 04:43 AMits the same scheme as ttrr, though.  kinda like shopper vs big shopper.  and i thought big ttrr is exactly the same as ttrr only upscaled?  you lost me here fox

For me TTRR traditionally was played with water at the bottom, and players could plop if they fail. Also, Big RR has swoosh and Fly parts that TTRR doesn't have. I understand that BigBilly's maps are mostly made in Big Rope Race Generator (BRRG) for this scheme, so the swoosh and the fly don't apply so much for maps made by this program. I do imagine maps being handmade for this scheme like this, though:  playing Time Trial with those classic obstacles and trick designs of the Big RR maps.

Another argument for my point of view: playing turn based rope race on a TTRR map and playing Time Trial on a big rope race map are very different ways of roping. So, in my opinion the map matters more than the timer-style. Of course that Time Trial and turn based RR have differences on the gameplay themselves, but I think the map affects more the way you rope.

That being said, Time Trial Big Rope Race still makes more sense to me than Big Time Trial Rope Race. Afterall the time playing the trial is not that big. The map is big, not the time.

Edit: next step is to create Time Trial Tower Rope Race. Because Tower Rope Race maps are different and the gameplay is different from BRR. It would be a mini tower map with those freaking crazy parts of Tower maps. That would be a cool scheme idea.

Would you say Time Trial Tower is an upscaled version of TTRR? Tower Time Trial Rope Race would sound as playing TTRR maps vertically, while Time Trial Tower Rope Race (or Time Trial Tower) sounds playing a Tower map in Time Trial format.

Edit 2: Don't forget that the scheme Time Trial Trick Race exists and it is not called Trick Time Trial Rope Race, because it's not like TTRR maps being played with colored lines sections for tricks, it's like short Trick Race maps that are played in Time Trial format.

Edit 3: now I'm thinking in Time Trial Surf Race (and not Surf Time Trial Rope Race), in Time Trial Checkpoint Rope Race (and not Checkpoint Time Trial Rope Race), in Time Trial Cannon Rope Race (and not Cannon Time Trial Rope Race) and all the other Rope Race variants being played in Time Trial format.

Time trial is a variation detail, the map and the rules of a scheme are way more important than if they are played as turn based or time trial. Of course that Time Trial is always better for fairness than turn based mode.

Edit 4: and now think in all other races in Time Trial format: Time Trial Boom Race (Boom Time Trial Race would be weird), Time Trial Bungee Race, Time Trial Driver (exists already, but played only as a challenge), Time Trial Boom for Weapons, Time Trial Drive for Weapons, Time Trial Drill Racer, Time Trial Super Sheep Race (Super Sheep Time Trial Race would be strange), Time Trial Wormopoly Party, etc.

Quote from: debilius on August 06, 2024, 09:28 PMThanks for the work on WKB
I looked at a lot of schemes from there
You are welcome and thank you for saying this. It's good to know there are indeed people reading the stuff that is there.

Rope Race with mines is an old concept, Mine Runner I think is the oldest scheme or at least the name that I call this gameplay type. I didn't check if there is a major difference from your scheme and Mine Runner, though.

Banana and Ropes is an old concept too. It's called Banana Zone and Banana Show. Again, I didn't check the differences from your scheme.

Your specialist scheme variant seems interesting. It reminds me the scheme I used to play with DumbBongChow in Project X that had many things programed (coded), it had an amazing gameplay. It's sad that Project X is still for version 3.6.31.0 and no updates. It's way more interesting to play a scheme without so many rules to consider, everything programed.

I do want to play with you some day. Sorry for late reply, I don't have much free time lately, but we can play some day. I'll take a look on your schemes more deeply, maybe during our games.

Quote from: Lancelot on August 13, 2024, 11:55 AMI don't know why you didn't notice it there. I got the ttrr scheme in the playoffs last year, but I didn't play that match.

Big TTRR is different than TTRR. By the way, the wiki lacks info about this scheme "TTBRR" or "BTTRR", and BigBilly is a player that is promoting this concept recently.

By the way, I think I prefer the name "Time Trial Big Rope Race" (TTBRR). It makes more sense to me, because it's BRR being played in time trial format, and not Time Trial Rope Race being upscaled.

Not sure if this is a WWPR exclusive grave too. It's a familiar grave to me.

IIRC this grave had in vanilla WWP. Probably someone from Team17. I never discovered who is this guy. I remember this grave since the old times.
