You can manually adjust the water level. Put it a bit higher and the worms will drown, even with the border being there.
The top border automatically appears when your map touches the very top of the screen. You do not need to add a border for that to happen... unless you also want the sides of the map sealed off.

Gaming Central / Mario Kart live: home circuit
October 18, 2020, 11:57 AM

Interesting concept  :)
It looks rather crappy in reality tho.. a bit jerky and I imagine it's superhard to actually make a smooth corner into your map.
And well, only got 1 house to play in xD + shitty flat surfaces.

It would make more sense if you had this car with a camera on it that you could use to make a circuit, and then upload it and not let the toy car drive it live.
It also raises the question... what about time trial? You can only race a circuit once??

All in all, it seems more like a toy for kids to play around with? Rather than an actual race sim?  ???

General discussion / AI
July 17, 2020, 06:25 PM
Is there by any chance a website that lists which weapons the AI can/will use in WA?

I'm also wondering which schemes the AI can play, and which schemes it is good at. Is it just BnG?  :D
Has anyone tried the AI vs AI already (or in the past)? Which scheme would be interesting to watch? I reckon most are rather boring cause of the simplistic playing style of the AI.

Hmm, now that I think about it.. is there actually a scheme in which an AI-player online can be a good addition?

Maybe 2vs2 BnG, with a CPU4 or CPU5 teammate?

Off Topic / PC again..
March 09, 2019, 08:13 AM
It's having another crisis  :-[

All started about 4 or 5 days ago. It crashed all of a sudden while surfing the web.
Not a big deal cause that happens sometimes, but this time it wouldn't turn back on.
Well actually it did, but within a tenth of a second it would turn off again.. judging by the sounds.

Next morning it would go a little bit further before crashing again. Later that day it managed to get to desktop and all seemed to run fairly fine.
The day after that I think a crash on first start up. Ran fine after that. Yesterday started up well straight away.
Late at night though: screen froze, had no option but to turn it off .. restarted, same issue as 5 days ago: on/off/on/off/on/off  >:(

The errors that I have received were: one time I got 'BAD POOL CALLER', second time I got 'MEMORY MANAGEMENT'.
I let it do the chkdsk /f on C: and it fixed some, but the issue remains.
Lastly, lately I'm getting 'flashes' when I play video games, little horizontal white stripes flashing through the animation. Might not be related.

Anyway, sounds like a problem with the RAM? Would you say it's something physical?

Off Topic / PC is booting to bios
November 30, 2018, 03:05 PM
 >:(

It's booting to bios every time I start it... whyy????

I've had two problems with the system before:
1) a failing USB-port. It kept connecting/reconnecting. Uninstalled the ghost-device. Never used the port again. No probs anymore since then.
2) date/clock being wrong. Every time I start the PC the clock is off by about 12 or 13 hours. This started shortly before the implementation of daylight saving time (28th of October). I let it auto-config it back, or manually change it.. still it's off every time I re-start the system.

Is the cause likely one of those? Or is it a more general problem, a doomed motherboard or some sheet like that?  :-[

It's an ASUS Desktop PC A_F_K31DA_K31DAG_K20DA Series

TUS Discussion / Fix to the Youtube issue on TUS
October 05, 2017, 12:46 PM
Current browsers consider flash-content 'unsafe', the youtube-embedded videos are such.

To view them regardless .. click on the shield-icon in your adress bar (see attachment), and you'll get an option to 'load unsafe scripts on this site'. When you click on it all embedded youtube videos are displayed.

Unfortunately I haven't found an option yet that permanently displays all unsafe scripts on TUS, so you'll have to use this every time  :-[ Maybe it's for the best..

Anyway, here's a video to test:

Does anyone have a list by any chance.

I know it uses zooks, nades and normal airstrike among others.. but there's also a particular order (like clusters only when no normal nades are there, etc.)

edit: the selection is the same for each level of AI right? Is the AI level only important for the accuracy of weapons btw? Or has it influence on tactical choices as well?

Gaming Central / PC console
August 03, 2017, 10:01 PM
Yoo,

Any of you have something comparable to a 'PC console'?

Been checking those steam machines. They say products like the Alienware Alpha R2 is pretty neat and comparable to a PS4 and other current gen consoles. Except that it's twice as expensive  :-[
That can be compensated with cheap games through steam though.

But it's true without a doubt though that these slim PC consoles are more expensive when compared to similar regular PC builds. Like a laptop to a desktop PC.

Pro's probably are that it is smaller and specifically designed to be played on TV and with a controller.

Some people also complain about the Steam controller that is apparently fairly shite compared to real console ones in terms of layout/design.

And choosing between Steam OS and Windows I reckon it's prolly better to go with windows cause it allows any game in the steam library instead of just the Steam OS ones.

So yah, I'm looking for some feedback from people who have one of these steam machines/PC consoles. Or just the Steam controller.. (cause I could give that one a try first and just HDMI my normal PC to the TV)

Main reason for (maybe) getting this: I wanna try the more demanding games on Steam for which my current cheap PC is too shite + playing my PC games with a decent controller that doesnt have to re-callibrate every f@#!ING TIME I START RL *ahem* + it seems interesting to have a PC that acts like a console.. one that is only used for playing games.

Gaming Central / Innovation in games
July 27, 2017, 12:44 AM
Was having a discussion with Anubis on steam.

My point of view: there is little innovation in games atm, 99% of games are just clones of other games that do not offer anything new. Only once in a while a genuinely new idea is introduced and companies jump on the bandwagon to copy that idea (GTA, sandbox games, RocketLeague, etc.), without really adding new elements to it.

So yeh, I wanna know how you people feel about it.

Are you satisfied with what the gaming industry publishes or is it mostly 'meh' to you?

Where is room for improvement?
Can you think of a cool innovation that would be the next big thing in gaming?
What kind of game is missing.. what would you like to play that isn't available on the market?

And on a sidenote, how would you revolutionize Worms? Or are you just looking for the perfection of the existing set-up (WA 4.0)?
