Throsti, you really need to set deadlines and stick to 'em fairly rigidly, this is a bit ridiculous. Cups are good for people who lack time, but 1 week per round is plenty ;0

Throsti, can you make a decision on this, I don't want to wait like 2 weeks for them to play. I think if one side put in noticeably more effort towards getting the games played, they should advance. Maybe HHC did, and he did win one game already, but his leaving for a week now makes things difficult.

Thanks guys :[ ]

I'm glad we had a close final, good times.

Erf, you guys gonna play soon?

Volrin, saltyk9, and probably some other top warmer players did what I do by putting paper under the spacebar. You're acting like there's some kind of standard kb, but there's not; people start off with different keyboards, and different sensitivities of keys, and we've always allowed any range of sensitivity. You could manufacture a kb with an even more sensitive spacebar than the one I have, and it'd be considered legal.

I'd agree that it would be unfair if people had to pay $100 or more to get a more sensitive spacebar, and there was no other way to go about it. But putting paper under your space is easy, and accessible to everyone. People should be able to play on whatever input device they like, so long as there are no macros involved, and it's button-based in a way such that the game takes exactly one input for each one press of a given key.

So, I bought a Leopold mechanical, I have to say, unless you get used to them from the start of your worming career, it's probably not worth it. The actuation happens when the key is halfway pressed down, so if you twitch with the key below that spot, it results in a lot of undetected presses.

However, now they do sell these little rubber rings for mechanical kbs, which act just like the paper that I have under my spacebar, reducing the travel time of the key so it bottoms out at nearly the same time as the actuation happens. I'm not sure how well these work, would be cool if someone could find out.

Yeah the noise this space makes is pretty ridiculous, I always play wearing headphones. Last time I tried using speakers I was genuinely annoyed by how loud it was :0. It's a Dell Quietkey, standard kb that comes with Dell PCs, or used to.

And ropa, as much as I like reminiscing about the good ol' days, people will always play with whatever method they think is best. Maybe some people take harder or easier routes to learning things, who cares? Of course, if someone managed to rope well with their toes, that would be really amazing and deserving of respect, but we shouldn't withhold respect from people who take the most efficient route; that should be the expected route, if anything.

Alright, here's a vid, I just wanted to get a decent turn or two. Starts at 15.53 in the replay, 1.07 in the clip (I just used youtube's trim feature to make it start at 0.00, but apparently this takes a while to apply).

Ah, yeah I'll see if the other fellas are interested. If people know their schedules in advance like Dulek, it'd probably help us a lot :0

Thanks for the support guys ;0

A video needs to offer evidence that it's not a replay, doesn't have to do much more than that. I'll have to warm for a while to de-rust, maybe I can do it tomorrow.

Yeah, challenges are largely about time invested. Some people like twistah think that this makes RR challenges useless, but it's basically the same principle as practicing to improve, they both cost time and effort. I'm glad to see closer and closer times, and I'd be more than happy to see a time that I truly can't beat, although my brain wouldn't allow me to leave such a time alone ;0.

I don't mind people being suspicious of me, but there's nothing that I could possibly be using. You're free to send any replay to Cybershadow or Deadcode to test for x-speed, beyond that, there's just double tapping macros, but if you look at finger rollers, I'd think you'd be able to see that my taps aren't quite as fast. FR taps usually have a 2 or 3 frame delay, most of my taps are maybe 4 frames, though I can sometimes exceed that in short bursts. I'll try to record a video with my iPod touch though.

Ahem Ramone, Dario and I are pretty closely matched, for example I beat him in the finals of both the last two ONL playoffs, and in the finals of the Jakka's recent cup, though he's beaten me plenty before.

Nice fling, that's really hard to do. And yeah I think we all have this problem Cue, it takes a lot to overcome it. After trying a map long enough, you know the parts where you usually fail, and it's hard to stifle the emotional reaction you get when you succeed. Whether it makes you happy, nervous, etc, it's bound to mess you up, unless you manage to trick yourself into thinking you need to push yourself harder. Who knows, maybe this psychological problem can be eliminated with the right thinking.

I encourage everyone to try and steal as many records as they can, I'll defend them to the death! In fact I'm a little more interested in improving the records I already hold than new challenges, because keeping them competitive brings the times ever closer to perfection, which is something we all wanna see ;0
