Actually every thread Komo takes part in descends into drama, what has that to do with jumping on some band wagon?

Go back and read this thread, komo said nothing different from what other people had already said and he was then pulled up on it by people without provocation. Thats jumping on a band wagon. In this case at least, he didnt start any drama.

Anyway enough of this

If you read through this thread you'll see komo did nothing wrong and people just want to jump on the komo bashing banD wagon, you mad bros?

Alien ropa is an angry pessimist, always has been! You should have seen how he spoke about tus when it first started, now look at tus. He's a clever guy and fun to play with, but he puts a downer on things at times, kills the love you know what im saying?

As I said before,

Do you have examples of when when this sort of thing has been tried and failed? Im interested.

Do advertisers not find it appealing because there is little expendable income in that age bracket or are there other reasons? I thought that men aged 16-40 (or higher) was one of the most lucrative target audiences. The average age of a gamer is 37 and they obviously have an expendable income to be able to be playing games... or am I completely missing something here?

I also never said in order to make money TUS would only have to branch out to more of the gaming user base. Im obviously not serious about tus becoming a viral video site, but that would be funny.

This topic has swayed quite far from the original post, I think we're getting carried away with our pipe dreams! Who knows though, im sure TUS is going to continue to grow regardless of the direction MI chooses to take it. I dont think any other league has had a founder this motivated to listen to the users and improve his creation as much as he does.

Do you actually have any examples of when they've tried and failed? Not saying you dont, im intrigued. Dont patronise me with no support to your claim.

You're saying theres no appeal to advertisers because the user base has no expendable income? Dont advertisers appeal to children by getting their parents to buy the stuff anyway?

Who says TUS has to stick to just games? TUS could become a viral video site, with a little link at the top: WA league.

^

If you write something you later regret you can always just remove the text. The ability to delete your own messages isnt that important, at the same time it could be useful if as you said its the last post in a thread.

Well if It looked like I'd make a return on my investment, sure id invest! Im a student so funds are low right now (donation still coming dont worry lad).

Im not dumb though, as nino said I know that WA isnt popular enough for people to be able to make any serious money from 3rd party sites. I doubt TUS has the necessary traffic to draw in interest from advertisers or sponsors, right now anyway.

BUT...

If TUS did manage to branch out to other games and gain a larger user base, there is a good chance there'd be enough traffic to interest advertisers. With an overhaul of the site on the way and a more professional layout, I dont see why this couldnt be a viable possibility. As to exactly which games (or things) TUS could draw more users from I dont know, however the potential do do it is here. If WA is released on Steam (Team17 actually check their forums now, we did already try and present a case to them but there was only 3 people proposing the idea), this would help greatly and be a good start. You shouldnt give up before you've even tried, that doesnt achieve anything. Even you try and fail, the attempt at least is worth the effort.

On a side note, Team17 are so annoyed by WA. Its that 10 year old game that just wont go away with a couple of guys who keep updating it and making it better and better. WR was a flop and there was a ton of complaints about it over on
Steam and Team17 forums. I was banned from both forums for standing up for WA and all the mugs who dont realise just how great this game has become in comparison to all the other worms games, even one they JUST released that had been tested by WA players. They neglected all the feedback given to them by the testers and made a shitty game.

...not sure if that has much to do with what we're talking about, but my point is Team17 are not supportive of CS or WA as it hinders sales of their new worms games (cos they suck ass).

nah disagree.

Never say never, with a will theres a way.

We shouldnt rule out the possibility of MI being able to make a bob or two from TUS until all avenues have been exhausted.
We havent even tried yet, no need to be pessimistic about it.

^ but they may be re-releasing WA on Steam in the future. We should get a petition going to convince Team17 to do it, already went through this crap on their forums, so annoying -.-

Yeh man even annoying ones, we dont mind! Do what it takes to get that P man!

Do you have to prove you get a certain amount of traffic to get advertisers to pay for web space or what? How does that work?

Crazy, you did the same as komo on the first page
