totally agree with you there. Imo such a competition (1 game in each of the 8 classic schemes) most likely can't really show who's the better player, but nevertheless it's still interesting.
Also playing tus singles seems to be a good idea. Facing each other in Playoffs wouldn't be too different from the competition mentioned above, so I simply dont know what the best idea is... :/

It could be interesting games, so I'm generally interested in playing such a thing. Don't really like your suggestions for the setting, though. I dont think it's necessary to have money involved in this and I doubt that a month for training is useful, cause honestly who would really need 1 month practice for this? My internet dropped in the second game. Sure, he had a small advantage there. But since I had holy I think it was leveled out pretty much. We both had a rope and the first to risk a rope and succeed would win. If the rope would fail the other player had a big advantage. He had 30 hp more, but I had both airstrikes and missile, which he didnt have anymore. So yea, I think this game was by far not decided, so I think it should be void.
I'll attach my replay, in case it is different to his.

cant say anything about next weekend yet. Its gonna be like 50/50 if I have time :/

There might be some rare cases in which using such maps can be some REAL advantage for one player. But I think a lot of luck has to be involved for this to happen.
In this given replay you simply f@#!ed it up by zooking yourself in your first turn. If you didnt do that, you could have come back easily.
So I think maps like this are fine for hysteria.
