Off Topic / I need your help!
March 08, 2013, 08:29 PM
Hey people, I don't usually do any sort of thing like this, but this is really important for me.

My band - Ragged Punks of City Deep - is going to perform on a huge charity festival on the 23rd of March, 2013 and there are going to be over 20 bands on this day, sharing the same stage.

Since there are going to be a lot of people attending from various televisions and radios, we would like to get as close to the prime time as possible and that is organized through a poll on Facebook. No apps and hassle, just a regular Facebook question, you don't need to "Like" anything.

Here is the event page. Now, on top of the comments, there is a poll - might be possible that you can only see comments after RSVP-ing, so just drop a "Maybe" then - that says:

"Melyik zenekart szeretnétek főműsoridőben látni?"

There, please, vote for Ragged Punks of City Deep. If you are up on Facebook, if you could do this small thing, it would mean the world for me and for my band.

Thank you very much!

EDIT: forgot to mention that the voting ends on the 20th of March.

EDIT: since the organizers of the event don't like that people from other countries than Hungary voted, I removed the link from my post. Thank you for all your votes!

TUS Discussion / Regarding TUS default design
October 22, 2012, 09:47 AM
"Is TUS presentable to people outside?"

The answer is no not because of the lack of the Spam Assassin group, but because of the lack of a good website. You are a typical backend coder who does an excellent job at that part, no question about it. But this website needs a content management and a very good designer who knows exactly how to manage and sort and put content at it's right place at the right time.

Not everyone can do this, I can definitely not do that for example, at least at not such a huge project.

TUS needs a designer. And don't start coming at me with these design templates that are installed, no, those are bullshit, only excuses for a professional design. Until that's done (which should have been the very very first step, 4 years ago) this site remains unpresentable to newcomers.

Such a cruel ending, watch the replay at 21:34, that must be frustration at an unimaginable level.

Schemes / TTRR variants
October 18, 2012, 08:17 PM
I am pretty sure many of you were thinking about similar stuff before, but none of these have been out there - or at least I haven't seen any - so I decided to make this thread and collect some ideas of variants of our beloved scheme: Time Trial Rope Race!

Now the basic idea is to keep the original scheme, but add some spice to it by making it more difficult than it already is. Here are some of my ideas!

ssTTRR - Start to Start Time Trial Rope Race

Nothing difficult to understand here, the only change compared to the original scheme is that you rope from start to finish, touch finish, then rope back to start again and touch it as a finish, all that in one turn. This is basically just extending the length of the map.

  • You are allowed to stay on the rope and touch the finish like that and start roping back, no need to get off the rope.
  • You are still allowed to end your turn by headknocking when you are going back to start.
  • Three worms, you have three chances.

aTTRR - Average Time Trial Rope Race

This is making it a little more tricky. In aTTRR, you still have three worms, but you have to finish with each worm and the time that counts is not your best, but instead the average of all three turns. In case both players fail to finish with all their worms, you start over.

Now this sounds a little too hard, as in case you plop your first worm, all your opponent has to do is saferope to the finish with all the worms and you lose. For this reason we could come up with different ideas, such as:

  • Have four worms instead of three and both players have to finish with three worms, the three best turns' average counts.
  • In case you only finish with two worms, the average of those turns count, minus X seconds of penalty.

See these rules are very flexible, you could come up with a better solution than these, but you could also keep it difficult by having the basic idea: you have to finish with each worm.

eTTRR - Extreme Time Trial Rope Race

Almost like the previous variation, but! You have to finish with each worm in one single turn and that time counts. Three worms, one chance, one turn. You rope from start to finish, touch the finish, get off the rope, use Select Worm to switch to your next worm and start roping with that to the finish. Then repeat with your last worm and that time counts.

sseTTRR - Start to Start Extreme Time Trial Rope Race

Combination of the first and the third variation, where you rope from start to start basically three times. One worm is enough for both teams, but you have to put your worm down when roping back to the start - like if you were to use Select Worm.

Poor Berria, you got raped in this game, you literally had one shot at me and that was because you started the game, after that, I think I hit you in almost every turn, except from when you were pushed behind that tree.

I can't imagine how damn frustrating and annoying this must have been.

ea / EAC End Of Matchday Tournaments
September 29, 2012, 02:21 PM
Every EAC week ends at 20:00GMT Sundays, which is a little bit late in the sense that most of us wake up early on Monday, still I'm going to try this.

When the EAC week ends, I will host a little tournament, as a sort of an "end of the week celebration" or whatever. For now, it's not going to be restricted for EA members, but if there is enough of us, EA members who are active at these tournaments, we will have them behind closed doors, maybe, if that's good.

Also, if there are alternate moderators who would like to help out - new option in the new TUS system, awesome - just tell it in this topic!

Bug Report / [SOLVED] Pending Games
September 03, 2012, 12:20 PM
Two things: you could remove the pending games for cups that have been finished already.

Other thing is, that I see clan games pending, from CF, from when I wasn't even part of CF! Could that be worked out?

TUS Discussion / Bug with profile graphs

Take a look for yourselves. The numbers are somehow messed up, showing a lot more points than there really are. Haven't found a pattern to what options are related, but overall points seem to be messed up, showing 7000 where 5000 should be shown and stuff like this.

Please take a look. :)

I don't have 8600 points, only 7000.

EDIT: also, just noticed, I haven't played 1300 games, only 1284 overall (bottom right corner says "First 1300 games").

TUS Discussion / Relevant topics and complaints
August 13, 2012, 06:15 AM
I would like to open a discussion about something that's been on my mind for a while.

Most users I believe, when revisiting the site, opens up the "Unread Posts" menu. If you haven't visited the site for a while, say, for a week, chances are that you are overwhelmed with a bunch of stuff that is absolutely unrelevant for you.

I am proposing a new feature with this in mind: have the ability to filter what each individual sees on this page. The basic structure of this would simply be a bunch of ticks that you can eaither turn on or off, based on your preference.

  • List each forum and have the ability to "unsubscribe" from that, for instance "Cups and Tournaments General" for those who do not in any way participate in those.
  • Have the ability to filter new threads by nicknames.
  • Have the ability to "unsubscribe" from game comments - leagues, cups, torunaments separately - and very importantly, have the ability to show comments only from games you are involved in! Could also possibly have the ability to include games in which your clan/community/clanmates/communitymates are involved in.

Now, for clan or community leaders, I think this might be a nice feature, to have a general view and see that maybe there are a lot of complaints about a member. Or if you are simply interested to see what remarks your mates are getting, whatever.

Now, there is just one problem with this (okay, one that I see - waiting for feedbacks :) ) and that is, if you hide the Complaints forums - which most of us would do I think - then you don't see if you are involved in a complaint.

For that and for other reasons I'd like to propose this idea: completely remove the complaints forums and replace it with a button on the games' pages. This button is only available to people involved in a game - or people whose clan is involved in a game (not communities, they are not competing) - and if you press this button, a little textbox appears where you can write your problem.

These "topics" should only be available to administrators and those who are involved: the players and clan leaders - whole clans in case of a clanner.

When someone complains about a game you are involved in, you get an instant notification via email or private message. This would remove the complaint thread from the public and in my honest opinion, would remove a lot of flame wars around the forum, which is like... good, isn't it?

Tell me what you think!

Off Topic / Need Help!
July 31, 2012, 10:20 PM
Hey guys!

I'd need a little help from someone. I'd like to enter a contest on Facebook, but of course:

QuoteOnly persons residing in United States who are at least 18 years of age can enter.

So, since I'm from Hungary, I cannot enter. I'd really appreciate if someone eligible to enter the contest could enter - or maybe even more people, that could raise my chances :) - and if you win, I pay you the price to send me the stuff.

https://apps.facebook.com/promotionshq/contests/265257

I'd appreciate the help, thank you in advance!

Hysteria should die a slow and painful dead. f@#!ing shit crap horrific terrible piece of joke scheme, I would punch Hysteria in the face until I'm so exhausted that I black out, I want to see Hysteria blood dripping on my carpet, I want to hear Hysteria's bones braking and I want to see Hysteria's internal organs ripped out of it's body while Hysteria is kept alive. I would be smiling while cutting of this scheme's arms and legs with a chainsaw and putting the ends into salt one by one. If I had a time machine, I would go back to the point when this was invented and stop the person from doing it by all means necessary.
