no need to worry, the majority of Steam users who buy games (other than Counter-strike and such popular crap) are way more polite than those you always meet who ended up downloading the game off piratebay. They are not "dumb-noobs" (see my classification from the past), they're very adaptive and intelligent and don't mind joining #Help to get some clear help.
Also, another sale: now -50% (all worms games -75% except revolution and armageddon)

Worms Armageddon along with other Team17 games was for as low as $1 in Humble Bundle two weeks ago during a week. More than 100000 people bought it, Wormnet was filled with new players

I haven't played the campaign still, but one of the W:A players (the one who also did big tutorial video) said that campaign was the only good thing that has happened to Worms since wa  :D
Rope is, of course, even worse than in Reloaded: can't do anything at all anymore, they introduced teleport gun race though, which is similar but still not what you'd expect. Normal gameplay is normal, can't say anything good or bad there.

Set ActiveBackground to 1 in the settings file (wkD3D9Wnd.ini) or enable it for just one session with Ctrl+H (will be overridden on next run): now when you're in-game, do alt+tab, and you will see the game running on background. Note that sound is not played in this mode: this is the default behavior of the game (if I ever find how I could make it an option)

pinning mouse? It is now done automatically when switching to any other window (i.e. alt+tab) but you can still do Ctrl+G to unpin the cursor anytime.

If I allow panning your mouse off the edge you would come back and slap me into the face again because your cursor position would be inconsistent (jumping from one edge to another). But it is not my issue. It is a Team17's issue from 1999, for which no cure has been found yet, sorry. Have you ever thought why we still have a 640x480 frontend after more than a decade and with the two programmers even having source code access?

Custom size is to stretch frontend to the custom size rather than a full "Stretch" setting. Just imagine you're stretching a 640x480 picture to 1024 in photoshop. You can't enlarge frontend without stretching all of its graphics thanks to crutches left by Team17.
I could make a long story about the deep details of this but I just don't want to do so as it is simply a crutch mess and not even worth dealing with.

actually yes, have you installed vmware tools? vmware should prompt you to do so on first launch.
vmware tools are the essential drivers for graphics and other stuff, just like drivers for real hardware, and will solve many problems

Do what it says in the "Solution" section.

If it's not supposed to affect in-game chat, it may not be working right.

Take this config to make WASD work as the arrow keys:

When you type A in the in game chat, the cursor types the letter and goes to the left side (and to the right side for D); to make a question mark in my keyboard, I need to press AltGr+W, that makes the chat window go up, and produces a question mark (Alt(Gr)+S also makes the chat window go down).

arrow keys ≠ typing text keys. this is the default behavior of the game.

maybe not, but as I said it is a very huge crutch and I don't want an yet another pollution of the code that may break in any unwanted circumstance

also, if you have bad colors on Windows 7, no need to kill explorer, simply use DirectDrawFix on your exe, or install the wndmode windowed mode module (by putting it to the root). the problem will be gone forever

dunno man, this game worked perfectly without any single lags on that laptop for me.
try installing the driver that you sent me on facebook. because the microsoft one sucks
however you will have to disable driver signing if you're using x64 windows, and edit the INF file.
