a2b Tournaments / Re: What time would you prefer?
August 02, 2010, 05:53 AM
Can more a2b players and people interested in playing this Tournament please vote?

I know hardly anyone will play it at the moment due to WO but after the WO if you are interested please vote, even if you can only attend 1-2 times a month.

Thanks for the votes so far :)

And Ramone, I can't possibly host earlier because I work nightshift, and if I get up too early, I will be too tired to do my job lol.

I don't quite mean as easy as Gundam lol, but still, you get my point, and Shy, if there is ANY crate on a map you cannot collect and attack with, then whats the point?

Trust me, it annoys me even MORE that Wnet, and EVERY drop down menu on the internet doesn't let me pick my actual country.

And olympics is the only sport that counts us as a Nation, World Cup football, World Cup Rugby, darts, snooker, cricket, hockey, you name it, we have seperate Countries, even Tennis, why not olympics lol...

But anyway, I just wanna find out how many Scottish wormers are out there, let's not talk about Olympics lol.

To be fairly honest, if this was a proper vote, it shouldn't even be worth it unless EVERYONE votes, and there are hundreds apon hundreds of players, so 128 votes, isn't anywhere near a perfect count.

I voted no because I do not want 2 seperate roper schemes, there should only be one, now if the option was Should w2Roper replace the original Roper scheme on TuS? Then perhaps I might have voted yes...

73 people? Please... Not even close to being worthy enough.

Sorry for stealing the audience, Dave. Glad to see you pulled it through though. :)

Haha no worries Rene, it turned out to be fun, the 4 of us enjoyed it :)

I had a nice bo5 with f00d for the Final, admittedly I destroyed him but he was close the 2nd game, we always drink so it's all good :)

Oh and the Tourney's have been inactive last 3 weeks because I have had to change either the day or time the tournament starts, and there has been WO going on this week, Alot of people are interested and I am sure in 1-2 months it'll be back up to at least 16 every week like it was before :)

I am also considering starting up the JpBnG Tournaments again, CF especially loved this scheme, SPW and his friends, I forget their names, JohnMcClane, ah what was the others? Well anyway, yeah.

I wouldn't host a2b Tournaments on WO as most people just wouldn't get it, to the regulars who play, it isn't the amount of players who play, it's how well organised, smooth and fun it is.

Even when we have less players, we just make it last longer to make it more enjoyable, some people actually really look forward to the tournaments, quite a few of us love nothing more than to grab a take-out sit drink and play :)

Plus I couldn't keep signups open for 20 minutes and have an odd number of players.

For me it has to be 4-8-16-32-64, nothing else.

The people who host for me isn't the problem, it's the odd number of players that put me off, I just can't stand 3 way finals/bys etc lol.

If someone has to leave during a tournament that is fine, but starting a tournament with someone getting an automatic by is just weird for me lol.

What you do is obviously great, it's just not my thing.

The fact you choose WO over a2b is cool lol, a2b Tournament's will always have the regulars and like Friday's there proved, we had just as much fun with only 4 of us, only 4 of us played so we made it bo3 for Semi's and bo5 for Final, it was great :D

I just don't like WO in general, mainly because I only play a handful of schemes and it seems pointless to me, but also a few other reasons, it kills everything else on WNET during the time played, I can never find clanners because of WO, I think the rules for hosting Tournaments on WO is silly, it should always be hosted with Round numbers, not so you have 3 way Finals etc & I feel the hosting is pretty Amateur and way too unorganised (Obviously except the people who are experienced at it).

If the actualy tournaments were better organised and not random amount of players every time (I do not like the 20 minute rule - always gives random numbers), and actually had something to win, like prizes and stuff I would possibly take part in it.

I took part in it once, cuz someone talked me into seeing how many BnG Tournaments I could win.

Do not get me wrong, WO is awesome for people who enjoy it, I have too many things on Wnet alone I enjoy doing to spend my time getting addicted to something else that doesn't really benefit me, everyone else seems to really enjoy it, and that's cool, DarkOne and Ffie do a GREAT job with WO and I am proud of them :)

I just don't like it, but respect it :)

Anyway, thanks for voting mate :)

The original scheme is MUCH better in my opinion, if played on a map that doesn't fill 80% of the land available...

I have played the w2 scheme alot, I even played proper ropers on w2.

Neither scheme is for better skilled ropers, both schemes take as much skill as the other.

Ropers were perfect 4+ years ago, then people started hosting more and more evil maps.

Seriously, if you look at ropers back then, and ropers now, you would notice the only thing stopping it from being purely skill, is the fact the maps are so ridiculously evil nowadays that EVERYONE gets crate raped eventually, even the BEST ropers around now always lose a fair few games due to evil crates even when they rope perfectly.

Some people say "It's boring on old style maps" I don't see why, imo they were perfect because you could actually collect your crate AND attack every turn with hard crates, if you fell, then that's where you deserve to lose, not because of crates, and imo it was much more fun being able to collect your crate and attack EVERY turn because you have the skill, not the luck.

This scheme, with still ridiculous maps, doesn't solve it in my opinion, however I would like it if it took over form original roper, but NOT as a second choice, it should be one, or the other, there is absolutely NO need for 2 rope schemes...

a2b Tournaments / What time would you prefer?
August 01, 2010, 06:36 AM
Ok so the a2b Weekly BnG Tournaments will be back to normal next week as I have finished my overtime at work for the moment.

The question is, what would most people prefer?

I will poll this up.

If you won't take part in these BnG Tournaments then PLEASE do not vote...

If it is for that game only, get a 360 or PS3 - most people play this game with those consoles online, I am sure PS3 mostly, so it will be more competitive online playing with the console.

How many other people that play WA are from Scotland?

I know there was a few that were pretty good years back, but they don't play anymore, and I don't really see anyone else from Scotland on...

Plus, they never put Scotland/England Wales and Ireland as Countrys in the WO... Britain is a Nation not a Country lol.
#12599
It should either replace the original Roper scheme or not even be in a league at all.

We don't need 2 seperate Rope schemes, think about it...

Pick 1 or the other.

Best of 3 and best of luck to both of you !
