Weekends fine, so we know that Random (one of CFs key players) can't play the next 2 weekends and Komo (one of cFcs key players) can't play on the 3rd weekend from now. How does 19th/20th August sound then?

Lol, well, 19th is day lalo arrives at my house, and we have a party this night... (seriously lol) 20th sounds good i'll tell them.

teleporting under something even if you lose your turn is still darksiding.
You shouldn't allow this. Shotgun should be only used in situations were you are pushed into a potential hide, and in your next turn you open up with the SG, meaning your opponent gets a possible shot on your worm at all times.

No, darksiding is hiding where you can or can't be hit, seeing as you are opening your hide, it's not darksiding, it's just a delay.

How about giving a suggestion yourself instead of just saying you can't play?
These kind of responses simply suck...

Excuse me, but I said nothing wrong, seeing as I am an important part of cFc and am required for a number of schemes, BnG being a very crucial one you would win without me, it's not a good idea for us to play without me being there, just the same as we wouldn't play without daina and lalo, and me saying we can't play, 3 days, out of an entire month, isn't a bad thing, in fact it's a good thing, I let you know so soon to your suggestion so we can quickly organise something else, unless you are so important, that cFc MUST play only when YOU can? I was actually in the middle of a post on cFc forums trying to organise this, but you know what f@#! it, do the PO without me anyway, I cba with your attitude now, I done nothing wrong and yet again I get f@#!ing ambushed for it.

cFc, we'll be able to play on either 12th or 13th August, depending on Random's schedule. We'll let you know which of these two days and hopefully come to an agreement. :)

We can't play 12th/13th I am working that weekend as a favour for my new boss, I am also working 5th so can't do that either :'(

Quote from: lacoste on July 27, 2011, 05:22 PMbut, imo, letting SG pass into the wild of TUS is not a good idea. I hope i dont have to elaborate it.

I hope you do, because we've been through this thoroughly, there is absolutely no bad thing about having SG in BnG, there is no disadvantage to any player, how can you enjoy it for funners but not for League games? You don't even play BnG in a serious competitive way, you never want to win, so why you care about this puzzles me lol. I remember going over this with you like 10 times on IRC and at the Tournaments when I introduced it, in the end everyone agreed it was, and I quote "perfect addiction to BnG" except you, the only thing I think you could say now that I can't counter is "I don't like it cuz I don't like it, simples"

These were your objections the 1st time we discussed this and my counters:

"But I lose a turn" - No you don't, you would have to tele anyway.

You never said this one, but this is for people who forget that Leagues have Rules - "What if other player shoots me with SG" - We're mostly grown ups with intelligence here, it's a league, there will be rules, this will be forbidden, obviously.

"What if someone teles under cover and I can't hit them?" - This is a good thing, being able to make use of bad parts of maps (because some people constantly make maps without enough hides) by hiding under a tree, then opening with Shotgun adds to the variety of the game, lacoste you always said variety is important and most fun for you, shouldn't you be in favour of this? Out of all the BnG's you've played I could pick at least 100 times where SG would have been beneficial for you, probably close to like 1000 situations actually, at least almost everytime you were pushed/no hides left SG would have been useful.

"But then they get 2 turns" - No they don't, if they teleport under something, they can't you, you can't shoot them, they open next turn, they lose a turn, and you lost a turn.

The best thing I must stress about this in my opinion, is the fact you get alot more out any map using SG, you get pushed, you can either teleport or SG, sometimes you don't want to teleport because there isn't anywhere else to move to, this is what kills alot of 2v2 BnG's, being able to SG can ONLY make it better.

The last and most important - There is NOTHING bad about using SG in BnG.

If this persuades anyone into wanting SG for BnG fair enough, but that isn't my goal lol.

ropa, about your point unachored is easier to beat notchers, if you can beat a notcher on unanchored, they are not a proper notcher, I can literally hit 100% when I am notching in BnG, that's very very very lame, and I still hate myself a bit for starting out in BnG as a notcher... This is the 1st, and probably last time I will ever tell you, you are wrong mate xD

Quote from: K1NG on July 26, 2011, 10:35 PMbut if Tele inf becomes Official wuld be good... and also shotgun, just be aware you won't play with a noob that tries to kill you with shotgun  :P

Well I am not even proposing this for TuS, but if MI did implement this I am sure we would add a "No use of Shotgun to attack/damage worms" rule, but so far I am actually surprised and quite happy so many people have backed my SG 1*pwoer idea, it really works wonders, and like I said, alot of people hate being pushed, but it's that much more relaxing if you can use SG and open a little to have angle, instead of having to tele/push/tele/push all the time, most a2b players I know usually host BnG funners with SG now.

Unanchored NrBnG, I would actually be ok with having this as an option, BnG (as it is now) or Unanchored NrBnG, but I am not going to go out my way to fight for it, i'd be happy with it, and play it, but it's not that big a deal for me.

ok old "ropa" if you feel the need for everyone to just say shoppa is a default scheme, even though rope is the primary factor of the scheme... then sure, lets just say its default... happy? lol... ur reminding me of how komo used to be... no offense komo.

I don't see why you needed to bring my name into it yet again lol, besides ropa isn't wrong, and neither are you, you are both right and you are basically arguing just because the other person has a different perspective.

I personally feel the Rope is not the primary factor of the scheme, Shoppers used to be played without "roping" skills, the original Shopper scheme that comes with WA only has 5 ropes, and was played in cavern maps, and before that Shoppers were played without rope at all on previous versions of the game before w2, I remember playing a Shopper style game on the game boy, I am sure it was called "crates" which is the exact same thing it was changed to Shopper to sound cooler.

Put it this way, if someone who never played WA before played Shopper and Shopper only against good Shopper players, they would very quickly notice people using the rope to knock worms around, and they would practise this, and soon get good at it, then they would play a Roper or TTRR or WxW and might not even reach the crate, the finish or all the walls.

Rope is an important part of Shopper now, and ONLY because people put Rope in it, it's because more popular, Rope makes most things more interesting, Shopper doesn't even need Rope if you play on cavern maps, we (the players) have edited the scheme adding infinite rope, more weapons, totally upgraded the maps to the extent that most people don't even know Shopper used to be nothing like it is now, it's evolved, it takes alot of default skill and rope skill to be a top player at Shopper, but picking Shopper is almost laughable today anyway.

I'm sticking with it's a Hybrid scheme, because:

hy·brid
   [hahy-brid] Show IPA
–noun
1.
the offspring of two animals or plants of different breeds, varieties, species, or genera, especially as produced through human manipulation for specific genetic characteristics.
2.
a person or group of persons produced by the interaction or crossbreeding of two unlike cultures, traditions, etc.
3.
anything derived from heterogeneous sources, or composed of elements of different or incongruous kinds: a hybrid of the academic and business worlds.

Shoppers today = Roper(cba/afr)/T17(use what weps you get) on custom maps perfected over the years.

But, now someone will disagree with me, try to point out why I am wrong even though I am generally right, and what they say will probably be right, and I will admit this, and try to point out both opinions are valid, and probably still get yelled at...

heya, once per week will quote some stuff from our bible, feel free to njoy and discuss

we will start with:

= ZARATHUD'S ENLIGHTENMENT =

Before he became a hermit, Zarathud was a young Priest, and took great delight in making fools of his opponents in front of his followers.

One day Zarathud took his students to a pleasant pasture and there he confronted The Sacred Chao while She was contentedly grazing.

"Tell me, you dumb beast." demanded the Priest in his commanding voice, "why don't you do something worthwhile. What is your Purpose in Life, anyway?"

Munching the tasty grass, The Sacred Chao replied "MU".*

Upon hearing this, absolutely nobody was enlightened. Primarily because nobody could understand Chinese.

* "MU" is the Chinese ideogram for NO-THING

I thought you were talking about Cows or something haha xD

But Komo, you'll find it harder (which doesn't mean it would take effort from your side but still) to translate shots because your opponent has the option of moving every turn.

Imagine you hit, now your opponent moves to a different hide and pushes you. Sure you can go back to your spot, but then there's a chance your opponent will hit you again. So unanchored bng allows the better bnger (IMO) to win always, as it makes it harder to use techniques other than feel (such as shot translation, notching, marking whatever).

Being able to move your worm makes it easier to shoot your opponent, it would definately makes it easier to notch shots, anyone who notches would have a ridiculous advantage. I am sorry but from my own experience (yes I played tons of unanchored BnG in my early BnG days)I feel the latter scheme is the superior in terms of competitive/skilled BnG, whether unanchored would be better for the people who just wanna throw nades in the easiest way for the win.

By the way I am not taking sides or anything, I just think unanchored BnG is far too easy takes out the fun of using the angle you are limited to for that turn and trying to find a way of hitting. I'd play it if it was accepted, it's fun. (Hmm lol, this seems to contradict what I am actually trying to say, I mean it takes out the fun for me in serious games, but I really enjoy unanchored for fun.)

you know what makes much more sense than all this small changes, teleports... shotguns...

Just make bng unanchored with no retreat time.

It's the exact same thing, except you don't force players to lose turns.

bring unanchored bng back.

I'd be happy to use SG in TuS, 1 star pwoer like we have on a2b, at 1st a few members on a2b were unsure, but everyone who has used it for a while now totally digs it, it doesn't give the person using it an advantage or disadvantage, you can hide somewhere totally covered in land, and open next turn, you don't have an advantage because you can't shoot until you open, and you are not at a disadvantage because the other player can't shoot you, so either way it's just like using a teleport except you are making more use of the land/map, it's extremely useful for both sides in 2v2 due to shortage of hides in long games.

As for unanchored BnG, that takes away all the tactics for me, I can already hit anywhere from anywhere, if it was unanchored there'd be no skill in pushing opponents, which for me is the most important thing in 2v2 Clanners, if it was unanchored and no one could push me, the "kill komo 1st" and "push komo" tactics would never work lol, which also means for me I couldn't push anyone, being able to push players and cost them a turn moving is one of the biggest things in my opinion that adds to the level of skill needed in BnG, being pushed and having no direct angle, and having the skill and knowledge to bank/double bank grenades successfully makes it so much more competitive for me and others.

I do however like Unanchored BnG in funners, I am not saying Unanchored BnG is bad, it's good, it's very fun, but in a League it's way way too easy to win for good BnG players, especially those who have mastered the wind, 3s, 4s FP, and 5s LG shots, this would be a good thing if everyone was great at BnG, but there are still so many players way below average in terms of skill in BnG, but then again, if everyone played this maybe it'd be more fun and more people would play? Who knows? It's a good idea none the less, but you would have to be able to select anchored or unanchored I think there will be alot of players who prefer one to the other.

I don't see why this is even a problem for Clanner Playoffs, Clans today consist of players skilled at different schemes, as an example, I am extremely good at BnG/Roper/Hysteria, pretty good at TTRR/Shopper/WxW, and around average at Elite/T17, other members are strong at schemes others are not, and usually cover all schemes for all clans.

When participating in PO all clans SHOULD have all members on standby as theres 8 legal schemes, so it shouldn't matter what rule there is for who picks what, I honestly feel that the most important thing about PO is who gets 1st pick, and the clan who put in most effort and played the best to win the Season deserves this.

I don't how how recruiting works in sR yet, i've only been part of sR for a short time, I have noticed quite a few people being rejected so I am guessing Dev/dogg etc take sR seriously, which imo is a good thing.

Personally speaking, I really honestly don't have an answer about you yet Capo, i'll let Devi persuade me xD
