Have a good one mate :)

This laptop is running War Thunder, OBS & Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017, at the same time, and it's not even breaking a sweat...  :-*

So, I made this temporary unlisted video as a test using my own footage from War Thunder and my own music, the quality is pretty damn good for my 1st try, is there anything I can do to make the video quality better?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUmuHsrJnDs

So now i've pretty much got the tools I need to make epic videos for Worms Armageddon too, I just need to learn fancy transitions and stuff now, DarkOne? Wanna teach me? :D
#303
I have some footage i'd like to make some YouTube videos with, i'm looking for some video editing software that will edit high quality OBS recordings into high quality YouTube videos, the highest/loudest quality of audio is needed.

I've tried researching for like 30 minutes with no luck, any tutorials or urls I can use to learn would be helpful, thanks.

Off Topic / Finally some good news :)

So, after submitting my latest song to 5 labels, these are the 5 responses I received :)

In order:

Declided - "Very interesting work here but we were looking for much heavier vibes to grab us for signing this tune to the label. "

Declined - "Solid tune overall! Intro caught my attention, kept me interested. A bit too minimal for DnB for my taste. Not a fan of the vocal samples. The melody at the drop was a great addition. Definitely in the right direction for an *NAME REMOVED* release but not quite the right one."

Declinded - "Hi thanks for sending across your demo, this is lacking a little energy for our liking or an element of deepness, we did like your track Move, a much better vibe and flow to this one and more to our liking. Although not sure if these are clips or not but your tracks seem rather short in the 2 minute region, we'd be looking for a minimum of 3:30+, ideally over 4 minutes. Regards, *NAMEREMOVED*"

Approved - "Hi Komito, thanks for your submission. Your track is very very interesting but can I listen more of you somewhere ? :) All the best, *NAMEREMOVED*"

Approved - "This track is awesome! Super unique sound design and super clean mix and master. We would love to set up a release for this. Hope to hear back!"

So yay! 2/5 want to release it, i'm on my way :)

Ofc will share it with you lovely people when it's released :D

General discussion / Last turn kill Csongi
August 09, 2017, 05:15 PM
SO yeah, I had to screenshot the map to recreate the same situation.

So the turn I wanted Csongi to do had 3 bars wind, the 1st time I done it with 3 bars wind, I forgot to make the tunnel 0.0.0 so the grenade didn't go through.

Then I got bored waiting for 3 wind as all I needed to do was prove the shot could work.

The reason I post this is cuz many times in Elite i've predicted a way to win, which was ignored cuz "too risky" but the point is, you will lose next turn if you don't try to win.

Who else has similar situations like this?

I should explain, we had no ss, no missile, no rope, only napalm left, and he had SS, we did have 1 chute tho.

Watch from 48 seconds.

At least this way, we'd get a draw, and rematch, if league game.

It's time to take WA to the next level, and i'm a guy with enough time, passion and just about enough brains to get the job done :)

I'm looking for seriously dedicated, passionate people here, you do not have to be a top skilled player of the game, the most important requirements are you being truly passionate about this game, this community and creating projects, events, moments where people can enjoy their online experience.

We know how it is, a lot of us didn't fit into normal social life, a lot of us suffered from bullying, abuse, medical conditions, heartbreak, didn't fit in, or just simply enjoy sitting in playing games because it's fun, and there are lots of interesting friendly faces here, heck, even the slightly more crazy people make it fun at times lol.

To some people it might sound lame, weak, sad or pathetic, but for some reason everytime i've hit a low point in my life, this game and the people i've played with have helped me put things back into perspective.

Clans, communities and leagues have been the backbone of this game since day 1.

We have the technology to take this to the next level, that's my dream for this game...

Initially, the plan is to setup a community with at least 3 or 4 people who meet at least some of the following requirements:

Has good hardware for streaming
Has good internet connection - This is crucial for streaming
Knows how to stream or wants to learn
Ambitious to learn from others & help others
Knows history of players/schemes/communities
Video editing
Art design
Good knowledge of designing maps - I have plans for this
Knowledge of game physics, how to explain how WA works
Can donate money/prizes for events - Will also like to do events for charities in future
Anything else that would be useful - If you feel like you can contribute, please feel free to contact me

We will also need commentators & presenters for streams and shows, yes you read that right, shows, I have some rough plans and ideas for a weekly show that's gonna really help bring the community closer together, and hopefully generate new interest in the game :)

These are some of the things you can expect from this community:

One of the highest priorities is live stream coverage of popular highly skilled competitive events, such as:

TUS PO's
Tournaments
Cup Group games, KO's and Finals
Worm Olympics
EAC
CWT

This is probably going to be the most exciting project, a kinda TV show that will appear on YouTube and/or Twitch, details of this will be kept private until the ideas can be followed through, but trust me, it's gonna be WILD!

Making videos for YouTube, showcasing players skills and talents over the years.

Making tutorials, how to play schemes, how to make maps/fanfares/flags/graves and how to host games etc

Special charity events - In time I believe we will grow popular, and we can organize special fun games where for example, the winners decide what charity to donate to.

Interviews and AMA with famous players.

You all know me, I don't f**k about, as much as you like or or don't like me for my opinions about almost everything you know I take this stuff seriously and will do my very best to make it as interesting, fun, educational and special for everyone.

Please only volunteer for this if you can commit to it seriously, I would treat it as a mini-career-for-fun in your spare time, you won't get paid for this with money, but you will more than likely learn skills, develop other talents and interests which could lead to something outside of WA as a real career. But most importantly, you will make WA a better game to play and WormNet/TUS a better place to be, and that's what we all want :)

Thanks for reading!

General discussion / The history of maps
July 28, 2017, 05:00 PM
So, lalo's post in the "Background legends" thread made me think...

I wonder who is responsible for taking each scheme to the next level with their map designs.

I remember a lot of history when it comes to players and leagues, but not so much maps...

So i'll try tell the schemes I was most involved in and the most notable moments where things changed from my perspective, I may have made some mistakes so please correct anything you see that's wrong:

ROPER:

I remember Roper receiving a drastic makeover, fabrousse took pro roping maps to what I consider an acceptable limit, making them slightly harder than the roper/warmer maps players used back in WACL, look at the difference here between 2 known early roper maps, and 2 roper maps i'd consider suitable, then 2 random evil maps that people play today:

1:

2:

3:

4:

5:

6:

Of course, the 1st 2 are too easy, the 2 last ones are just ridiculous lol, but the 2 in the middle are just right.

Then guys like Mablak, TheDoGG, franz and angus made the most recognisable roper maps that became the standard(maps which end up with a lot of crate rape).

BnG:

So when I started playing League BnG people were playing on maps like this:

You simply load a random Team17 Cavern map, delete the top, fill the bottom, make sure you have 0 bridges and full objects, and voila!

Nowadays people play on maps like this:

I'm fairly responsible for the BnG League standard -forest maps with lots of good hides and raised edges at the edges, after a while it became clear the old Team17 style maps were too open and easy to attack, it wasn't just me who thought "oh, i'll change this and that", it was actually other players asking for more/better hides as I was becoming insanely accurate and consistent with a variety of shots so they were getting hit and pushed pretty much every turn without even getting a chance to shoot back, so that's kinda how evil hides were born...

All I done for 3-4 years was play BnG almost every day all day, with as many people as possible, people were learning how to shoot with low gravity, how to push worms around, do fancy shots, destroy land in advance(open/dig/destroy), BnG actually has strategy to it and maps cater to that better now, of course, not everyone likes this and gets bored easy lol.

I don't take credit alone as these maps were created while playing hundreds of games with b2b and other BnG enthusiasts, Ramone/wormf00d helped validate this style a lot, especially Ramone making the most insanely fun BnG map pack ever:

Other personal favourite BnG map designers would include, lacoste, KRD, Roperz(ArsGoetia), K1NG, madog, Chicken23, Jigsaw, Reso, dillifag, surgeon Jago and NiCo.

A special mention to Resonance, who sat with me for months practising and helping to create the future of BnG :)

Darts:

With Darts, SiD created the classic map, where you had to time disabling the drill at the right moment to land on vertical targets:

Then Phanton decided to make a flat horizontal target which opened up so many possibilities:

Of course my initial Darts maps sucked in graphics but had fun playability:

Son of Sunshine:

Bank It!:

And with ridiculous amounts of testing with various dS guys we ended up with a standard sort of design and interesting ways to play which eventually led to a breakthrough in playabilty and map design:

Other maps that raised the bar:

Pepar - Muta:

Hurz - Deviation:

XanKriegor - Double Deviation:

Komito - Starfox:

Drumstick - Ride The Saw:

Hurz & Pepar - Walk The Plank:

tita - Worms At Work(Komito Remix):

Golf:

Golf, not much so say on this as I haven't played it much but what IS weird to me is that I remember playing Golf in like 2002, before colour maps etc, it was just a Team17 map that we edited with gaps n obstacles and made a hole at one side in the water, something like this:

You only had bazooka and low gravity, shoot your worm through the course from S to F and into the water hole. I guess this went on to become Boom Race?

I was surprised(in a good way) to log on one day(many years later) and see someone hosting a Golf game with this map:

Warmer:

Last but not least, Warmers :)

So I started WA in June 1999, I didn't start roping until later that year, and it wasn't until 2000 where I was involved in the Warmer scene and starting to get good, so yeah for the next few years these were the kind of maps the people I played with warmed on:

Gundam:

dOgMa - Phat Ropa:

sikz - hookdam: (I don't know why there is a girder in the preview but it wasn't in the original map.)

Tflenker - Tflenker:

*unknown author* - Cheesy:

Vahagn - NR5:

I don't know if it was OutofOrder/Auto who started this style, but it was his style of maps I noticed popping up round about when Mablak/Anubis were at their peak:

The main switch I ever saw for Warmer maps was when someone decided to start using oversized WxW maps like these:

ExZo - Gym:

Ka1ser - Razer Warmer:

Personally that's when I feel like Warmers died, I don't mean they became crap all of a sudden, I just mean like, the spirit of Warmers just vanished, people just don't get it anymore. It's still an interesting story though and i'd love to hear more on Warmer maps from someone who knows way more than me.

Could anyone please share similar stories about the following schemes:

Bungee Race
Golf(more in depth than me)
Elite
Team17
Shopper
Big RR / Tower Race - What actually defines these maps? When hosting with hosting buddy it seems to load maps that aren't even Big RR...
Battle Race

Or anything else you can think of :)

Never really thought about this until now.

How many of these incredible map designers have you guys actually played with?

They contribute such stunning maps to the community and never seem to get involved with forums/leagues so they pretty much just stalk the darkness...

I thought about it when looking at Stressfish maps, i've never ever(that I recall) saw Stressfish online, but he makes some of the nicest maps i've ever saw, he must surely be experienced cuz his maps don't just look awesome, they play really well, so this guy obviously knows what he's doing, which means he's played the game quite a bit obviously...

There are loads of these guys who maps you have definitely played, but you've never saw the designer...

Where are all these talented wormers then? What do they do?

I'm beginning to wonder if TUS is basically like pop music(mainstream) and there is a whole underground of WA players we don't even know about that just avoid us cuz we're lame lol.
#311
Can you remove players who aren't online when the Tournament begins?

This way you won't mess with player statistics because they couldn't turn up.

(Please...)
#312
Me and Sniper were talking about doing some 1v1 BnG with 2 worms so hosting a few Tournaments, 1 TUS rules and 1 a2b rules, who thinks they can show up, I don't mind changing the time a little if it means more players.

Tech Support / Issues with streaming
July 04, 2017, 07:18 AM
Ok so i've almost got this stream sorted, I want to be a reliable source of streaming important events for TUS/WA, as well as random funners and other wormy stuff, can even be active streaming Worm Olympics for you guys in the future.

Now i've got the settings nailed for streaming music production and making videos etc, just need to get WA stuff sorted...

This is where I really need your help, i've tried searching stuff online but can't find anything about Worms Armageddon, I could follow that for other games but I need people who specialize in technical WA stuff.

When using display capture, using the best/highest settings I can see:

When I am streaming in Roping resolution - 1920-1080 - It's perfect, stream delay is 8 seconds(good), and I have no lag issues at all, the feed is good quality.

When I am streaming in Default resolution - 1152-864 - Stream delay is 8 seconds, no lag issues, the quality is good, BUT, the video output shrinks and I am left with a huge black nothingness at the right side and below.

Also, whenever I quit, or minimize, or even end the game, the game crashes and I can only get my laptop back by using task manager to end WA.exe

When using game capture:

Using either Direct3D9 - When I try to start game, it crashes and I have to use task manager to end WA.exe

Using Direct3D7 - Game works fine but all stream gets is black screen

Using either DirectDraw - Game works fine but all stream gets is black screen

This is the error I keep getting when it crashes:

I don't want to stream in window mode, I can't play like that unfortunately.

So a nice person from an EDM group I follow created an EDM channel, nice to see my music amongst such other cool artists!

Since he's sharing my music I feel I should return the favour, here's the link to their channel:

If you know any other channels similar to this that aren't well known, please share :)

When I host with Great Snooper, it creates the room but does not show up in the channel.

I can host fine when hosting from WA.
