Komo, if you'd like to compile the pros/cons for each side, and post here, feel free.. i know you like to do little tasks like this for the good of mankind! ;D  i would do it, but im feeling a bit too lazy atm.

i dont think anyone is here to argue, kradie.. but thank you making that clear :D

QuoteWhen Sudden Death is on then it is ON, it should overrule CBA because SD requires both players to carry out the wall to wall rule. SD should not permit a player to acquire a nearby crate. It can be considered unfair and handicap depending on the game's circumstances.

the problem with this is, the only possible way for a crate to be on a map, and sudden death to have been officially announced is if your opponent failed to collect a crate right before sudden death.

any time your opponent fails, you then get options/benefits.. for example, if your opponent fails a very easy crate, and then your crate spawns on the opposite side of the map, of course you will collect the easy one and attack, correct?  so if your opponent fails a crate right before attack, i believe it should be you choice to collect or, or go w2w... but one thing is obvious, these are all just opinions, everyone has their own opinion on this situation, and we all made our points pretty clear... at this stage of the game, we should have a vote and move on.. i will open a poll in a separate thread

im not sure HHC can be a good quote mod, he does not act enough like a politician.

:p

anyway i fully understand, and yes HHC, the problem was always me, and not the bbcode... i never said there was anything wrong with bbcode, i just thought there was an easier way to do this.

but i guess people are just doing a lot of copy and pasting :D

ok, im starting to understand... but i like copy and pasting the real tag each time better... rather then it just saying "Quote"

i know how to quote one thing HHC, and i also know the tags... you noob

maybe i did not make myself clear.

say i want to quote one paragraph from you... then make comments

then quote another of your paragraphs... and make comments

then another quote... and make comments.

how do i do this?? or do people just copy and paste each paragraph in the tags??

so, if i want to do this, i have to open notebook, and copy and paste the initial tag

[ quote author=HHC link=topic=26892.msg220575#msg220575 date=1431624790 ]

then i have to open notebook, and copy and paste each paragraph i want to quote.

then i have to reply to the thread, and re-copy and paste each individual things into my post??

i thought there was an easier way, but i guess not...  when people do this, that is real dedication!!

edit: i just answered my own question, i think.... if click "quote" from somones post, i can copy and paste this tag

[ quote author=HHC link=topic=26892.msg220575#msg220575 date=1431624790 ]  minus the spaces before and after [ ]

then copy and paste their paragraph, then repeat steps... i guess opening notebook would not be necessary, unless the post i wanted to quote was a page back, and there for not in the "topic summary" ...

ok, so there is no easier way to do this, is what your telling me HHC?

Off Topic / Official Aquarium Thread ;)
May 14, 2015, 05:20 PM
here it is!! does anyone have an aquarium in their home? i would like to see pics, so i can get ideas on what to put in my tank...

i want idea for both fish, and the aquariums decorations, like what to put on the bottom.. sand, or gravel? the guy i got my tank from said i cant put sand in a fresh water tank, why is this? ?? is it true? seems odd... there is sand at fresh water lakes.. i would also like ideas on plants for in the tank... and most importantly the fish.

heres a new pic, i started stripping the paint that was on the back side facing the kitchen area, i guess the previous owner had it painted, because the most likely had it up against a wall, where i have it its viewable from 3 sides, so i dont want the paint...

its a pain in the ass though, that little bit i have done took over an over.. im just using a razor blade.. today though im going to go to home improvement store, and see if i cant get a chemical to get it off easier.. im sure ill still have to use razor and scrape it, but im hoping a chemical will loosen it up.

anyway, everyone post your fishy pics!! :D

im not sure, the guy i got the tank from just said to use absolutely no chemicals.. Pizza, can you get pics to show me too, or the turtle aquarium?? maybe i should open a fish tank thread, so Kinslayer can sleep better at night...

follow me to the fish tank thread, i actually have more pics to show anyway ;p

Leroy, why do you insist on saying "its been this way for ever" you have been proven wrong with real evidence, such as w2dinfo links, and more... stop saying things that are simply not true, just to support your opinion. Also, you can quit it with your imaginary spanish worms friends, that all agree with you, but you wont mention their name out of respect to their decision to vanish from worms. lol

SD was introduced to roper games, so certain games do no drag on forever... the problem was, when the crates stop, you had no obligations before attack, so we came up with wall2wall before attack. but in my opinion, that does not mean wall 2 wall takes priority over crate before attack. after all, crate before attack is the standard rule of roping.

Kradie said: "I have questioned myself in some roper games ''Why do the player get crate and then attack the opposing player in SD?'' The conclusion to this is... Time. I think, there has never been a clear rule in regards to this.  So time and its generation has decided what is and what is not."

this goes to show its not as rare as some people think, and in the cases he has seen the people have chosen to grab crate, rather then w2w. It's also what i have seen people do, and did myself (as we all seen recently)

but Kradie, then you said going w2w even when a crate is on the map is the logical thing to do?? can you explain why?? anyone who has followed this debate read all the logical reasons why CBA should take priority, but nobody has given any logical reason why w2w should take priority, apart from it being how they always thought it should be.

opinions are not logical reasons guys, they are just opinions.

i think option 3 is the best, because it seems like we will not come to a definitive answer, some people think it should be one way, some people think it should be the other way... so why not offer both options??  like senator said too, it makes the rules less complicated.

I would go for #2. CBA over all is a very simple rule to follow.

It would be like: "You must collect a cr8 before you attack, if none is available you have to perform w2w instead."

You don't even have to mention SD because there will always be a cr8 when there's no SD for the player to collect. Easy, short intuitive rule.

Anubis, thats is not true.. there are situations when crates do not drop, and sudden death is not officially announced in the game.

i would choose option 3 for this reason... if your opponent falls on a very difficult crate, you should have options, you should not be forced to go after that crate if sudden death comes... his mistake should not penalize you, you should be rewarded imo.

lets pretend its some extremely difficult crate, in some very tight cavern like hide of a roper map on the left side, and both you and your opponent are on the right side... you may skip the crate, and go for a w2w + attack, and being the crate is so hard, you may not even collect it in your retreat, and your opponent might do the same, (w2w, never collect crate) my point is, you should not be forced/punished due to your opponents mistake. i think option 3 is best.

im kind of curious too.. lol.. why say "i spoke to some retired wormers" and not offer names??

i agree with komo, it really does not logically make sense.... the reason being is, "crate before attack" is the number one rule of roper, and i do not think anyone can argue that.

@komo: lets leave the "which would you pick" debate to the "update schemes" thread please...  i spoke to some retired wormers, and they agree that the TUS rules are in desperate need of updating!! ;) but this is not the place for that.

@MI: if you have no issues with my last turn cow, and the penalty i chose to take, the win is legit, and this thread can be locked.

"even in wwp" lol

rU, who are the many people? you and stylez??

majority have sided with crate before attack is always accepted.

you still have not answered the question of what happens when no crate falls, but sudden death has not been officially announced, or as you like to say "the gong has not sounded" ?? what should happen then?? it it just your lucky day?

correct you if your wrong, ok...

I made that point, not senator.

everything else is more then correct i believe...  the rules are pretty open ended, so i can see where there is confusion to an extent... but the main rule in roper is crate before attack, and i think we can all agree to that. So im just not sure why anyone would think w2w trumps cba.

anyway, what your saying is my cba turn was not a cow.... what about my second turn? i failed to touch wall (not on purpose) and then i took a penalty of a skipped turn (i even did a w2w for good sportsmanship) is that a fair penalty?? you ok with that?? stylez suggested that i damage my worm.

if your ok with that, then the win is good. gg
