dance machines have never been cool

I don't know if it it was cool, but it was really fun !
I met a great number of my actual circle by playing bemani's games. That was a good exerience and honestly I don't care what people thought by looking me playing.

Btw, this topic name sucks.  ::)

@Cueshark : Only few times. It's a cool game but I used to prefere beatmania. However i had the luck to go 4 month in korea 3 or 4 years ago for studies, and I really enjoyed DJ Max Technika. It's the best tactile game imho.

@Komito I see what you mean. But I don't really imagine something where I could transpose this kind of abilities, except for video games (I used to be good player of Dance Dance Revolution few years ago - finished 2nd on 2010's french cup). I started to play electric guitar few weeks ago... and I sweat blood like everybody. :D I would learn it like I did for rhythm games, but that don't look possible... There is more examples. I'm surfing for 2 or 3 years, and I'm still very bad despite 5 years of skateboarding (but I enjoy it  ;) ). Maybe by lack of time, but I don't see how shmup or rhythm games could help me.

Anyway, I'm curious about your own experience.

The ability he posesses, has value, is all I am saying, I hope he realises it. (He prolly already does lol...)

I think it's just the ability to be perseverant. Maybe with a little help of global screen elements analysis and rhythm sensibility developed by a huge amount of hours playing japaneses rhythm games like beatmania IIDX.

In comparison with other french shmup players, I haven't an especially fast progression.
I just never give up, like I did when I was a WA player. :P
(Ok I gave up on few games. DoDonPachi DaiOuJou and Tetris Grand Master made me feel sick.  :D

I was so close to getting AAA on Paranoia but like 5s from end I whacked my foot bad and jumped off lol.

The hardest thing for AAA is probably to control stress.  :D

@rash : Just get bored about this. Now I just use skateboard to move in town.

@Husk : You should have a look on mushihimesama futari (ultra), ketsui (ura loop) and DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou's loop. That's fun.
On your video the guy (who is not japanese !) is not scoring, making only 67M. We got a french player witch 2-ALL DDP with 547M ! And best japanese player is over 700M !

@Komito : That's nice ! I used to play on ps2 / arcade. AAA'ed many 7~9 songs on ps2 without using speedmods and bar. :)
Here's a video of last year french final on Konami's stage : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sb5rg9PidE ;)

hehe, I spend too much time on some games to make my come back. :)

So what's up ?
I get graduated few months ago from my schools. So I'm definitivly a 24 years old guy looking for a job now.
I stopped skateboard, started surfing and playing too much videogames. :D
I don't play anymore PC games (except some Mame stuff).

I played some years bemani's rhythm games. Especially beatmaniaIIDX and DDR (where I'm actually France Vice-champion  8)).
Now I spend my time on Cave's Shoot them up (like Mushihimesama Futari, espgaluda2, deathsmiles, etc), 2D VS fighting games (Guilty Gear / BlazBlue) and speedrunning some platform games like Super Meat Boy.

Well, that's fun to speak to you guys. I'm here because Husk grabbed me on MSN. :)
May I'll reinstall wa to play a bit someday. If that happen, I'll come here to schedule some games.

Peace.  ;)
