TheKomodo

danceman is a well known oldschool Roper, I can't remember how good he was at TTRR so I can't comment on that, but I do know he was a VERY good Roper.

I dunno if someone is impersonating him, but I trust walrus, and if walrus believes it's him I believe that...

MonkeyIsland

@Kinslayer, keep the language clean.
Due to massive misunderstandings: MonkeyIsland refers to an island not a monkey. I would be a monkey, if my name was IslandMonkey meaning a monkey who is or lives on an island. MonkeyIsland is an island which is related to monkeys. Also there's been a legend around saying MonkeyIsland is a game. So please, think of me as an island or a game.

Anubis

Gets to show how good old NBR member used to be, even after such long time. Makes me kinda lol compared to what we have now.

This is just 1 person, most of the comeback players i've seen have lost a lot of skill like a normal human being :D

Anubis

Nah, most human beings keep a relatively high skill once they mastered something. It's muscle memory after all. There are hundreds of athletes that can still play reasonable good in sports even after 10 years of retirement. In fact, that some people lose a lot of their skill has probably a lot to do with changed equipment. You muscle memory roping with your favorite keyboard. I would be curious to know if old school players that came back to roping changed their kb or could keep their old from their prime.

I heard saltyk9 sucks now, did he change kb?

TheKomodo

salty doesn't suck, but he isn't close to being as good as he was.

I actually disagree, you talk about "after 10 years of retirement" but from what I know, most professional atheletes still take parts in whatever sport it is they do, at some level.

This, on the other hand, is people who played a game and literally haven't touched it for over 10 years, they come back, they completely suck for a few days, and gradually start getting their skill back over the course of some months, most of them won't ever be as good as they once were.

This on the other hand is a childhood game completely forgotten about for years and years, it's quite a difference lol.

From what I know, Danceman has only been back for like 1 month.

If this really is him I am very impressed how much skill he's managed to maintain beating dibz like this, dibz isn't some shit player, he's one of the best Ropers of all time, i've never heard of ANYONE maintaining this level of skill after such a long period of time, very impressive :)

Anubis

Oh saltyk9 doesn't suck? Good to know! See, even more evidence old NBR is superior even after such a long time of breaks. Quality of rusty NBR > quality of today ropers.

you can't compare oldschool wormers with newcomers.
oldschool wormers played serious for leagues, today it is almost just about fun.

You have got to be kidding mate.
I would be very surprised if this guy isn't an alias.

Dibz is a top RR'er by anyone's standards at any period of time.

The standard of RR is WAY higher now than back in the old school NBR days (no disrespect to NBR), I can definitely vouch for that.

Even 10 years ago, 46'ing the above map would be unheard of in a serious game.

Not convinced.

So who would alias? Mablak? The roping in that replay is very high quality so you can eliminate many potential alias from the get go, simply because we don't even have such ropers anymore that rope like that. It has to be an oldie but goldie. :D

Alien, NBR didn't really care that much about leagues. It was all just pure entertaining roping without much focus on winning the league games. We used to f@#! around in league games just as much as in fun games. ToP was the serious mode with many NBR members that wanted to do that in WWP. But NBR was not a highly competitive clan. It was about showing off and roping for the love of it. Also I am comparing them to current gen ropers. The current gen ropers stand no ground vs old NBR it seems. :P

Im personally very glad NBR gets his former glory back, in the past years it was more like a hollow of an once great clan, makes me nostalgic seeing my former mates kicking ass again. :)

Ryan

I can't tell whether you are actually being serious or not.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt though, it could be the following (or more)
Masta
Sir-J
Sbaffo

This is not an accusation to those listed and it wouldn't bother me if it was one of them, I am just re-iterating the high chance of this being an alias.
